@SammiLou2312 bump looks fab! Dh came home from work yesterday after not seeing me since Sunday...sat down did a double take and said "bloody hell that things got big" while pointing at my belly 😂🙈 thanks love, that's exactly what my self esteem needed!

Hi ladies,

How is everyone? @Rachael321 how exciting with a date! 😍 my Dr don't want me to go over more than one week, so I ruction latest on 5th of October! I'll probably ask for a sweep at 39 weeks if it looks favorable as I'd hope to start labor on my own but let's see, who knows what he wants 🤣

@MOGMOGMOG85 oh that sounds stressful, sending you positive buyer vibes! Hopefully you'll have one soon 🤞

I'm gonna try to get my hospital bag sorted this weekend and the nursery, I feel like there's so much left to do and so little time for some reason 🙄 and how is everyone feeling in general? I've been feeling well and normal the entire time, but from this week that's changed - my hip/pelvis/lower back hurt on the right side when walking, it feels like a sprained muscle. What can that be? Relaxin widening my pelvis? Anyone have this? 😕 and I definitely feel more uncomfortable when sleeping and just in general... feel heavy. Although weight hasn't gone up that much, belly is bigger and I feel heavier and more breathless in general. Wonder how I'll feel in 4 weeks' time 🤷🏻‍♀️

@SunStruck it sounds like SPD 😔 I'm suffering a lot with mine. Partly why the consultant offered me an induction.
I hope it doesn't worsen for you.

@sunstruck I love my moses basket. Have had it set up at side of my bed for a few weeks now to try and get used to it being there. As for the pains you have been getting, I have been same... especially last 3/4 weeks. My midwife said it's to do with the relaxin and changes to my pelvis plus the fact baby girl is now head down and putting pressure on to my pelvis and pubic bone more. Not really much she could recommend to help unfortunately but I find changing positions and lying on my side sometimes eases it.

@Rachael321cant believe you are in the last week already! So exciting 🥰

I gave myself a scare earlier. Started laughing at something while having a drink and full on started choking. Hubby managed to slap my back to help me clear liquid and breathe again after about 20 seconds but it felt like a lifetime and wasn't before I full on peed myself 😂 joys of a baby on the bladder I guess! Ain't pregnancy so glamorous haha! Baby girl has been moving about this evening (she was a bit quiet for a couple of hours after which worried me a tad) so happy she is ok now. Can laugh about it now but freaked me out so bad at the time.

@SunStruck I'm with you in the hip pain, I'm trying to do some yoga hip openers like pigeon and cobbler which seems to help a bit. Mine feels more like sciatica though 🤷‍♀️.

@Rachael321 aaaahhhhh bub is going to be here so soon, I'm so excited for you! Hopefully the weather will be a bit cooler for your induction.

@SammiLou2312 that sounds more than a bit scary, I find myself choking on nothing a lot at the moment, I think it's a reflux thing. Nothing like as scary as yours though,pleased your little girl is bouncing around to reassure you

I hope the cooler weather has reached everyone! I'm enjoying the break in the heat but this evening I am supposed to go out for dinner for the first time since lockdown - to an outdoor restaurant! The friends I'm seeing for dinner are really really old friends and they have all been an incredible support through our losses of our beautiful daughters. They don't know that I am pregnant again, so I will just be showing up with my big belly! I'm a little bit nervous 😬

@SammiLou2312 how are you doing today? It sounds like a big scare but great to hear that your little girl's movements are back to her normal pattern

@JuniperAndRose we are doing ok thanks...throat is a little sore but other than that we are good...baby girl was happily dancing last night and has been a tad wriggly this morning. Just about to get some food which tends to make her dance so all is well thanks for asking. Hope you have a lovely time at your meal with your friends xx

Had my 34 week midwife appt today. Baby boy is head down which I’m pleased at! Though it is really quite painful! All was well, he’s still measuring big though so I’ve got another scan next week. It’s all becoming very real and seeing lots of people I know bringing babies home... Had a good little cry to her as I know it’s silly but I’m scared it means that’s again I’ll be the one who doesn’t bring mine home. Hormonal mess at the minute! X

@SunStruck yeah I have this too, feels like my hips are going to detach from my body when I do too much. I get it in my lower back too, especially when I bend down.

I stupidly tried to clean the whole house today and am now suffering for it. I need to realise I cant do everything I used to but I'm so independent and stubborn I just carry on as usual. Partially feel like because I'm not working I really should be on top of the house work at least! Dh keeps telling me not to overdo it, need to actually listen to him!

@MOGMOGMOG85 that sounds so stressful, can't imagine Covid is helping when trying to sell either. I really hope you get an offer soon but in the mean time look after yourself!

@marmitecheesetoast your clinic sounds amazing! I'm so glad you are getting the support you need and they can be so flexible. My previous mcs were only spoken about to get the facts in my booking appt, I remember feeling so anxious just going back to the midwives in the first place and deflated that my losses weren't recognised really. It just shows again that care is so hugely different across the country.

@TunnocksTcake snap, I did the same today! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ was doing up the nursery and finalized hospital bag packing which took around 4 hours and it literally felt like my back/hip was breaking! Has to take a warm bath and have been laying on the sofa ever since. I'm also independent and going about like I'm not pregnant, but I guess it's time to slow down a bit. I wonder if this is gonna get worse? 🥺

@Knotemma @SammiLou2312 thanks for the advice! I will have a look at those yoga positions. Hopefully it stays on one side and not both, would barely be able to walk! 😅

28 week appointment today. All looking good and got to hear a good strong heartbeat again. He's still butt down in breach position but MW said not to worry about that until 36 weeks. Also got GTT results and they were all fine. So far so good. Nice start to the weekend and the heat has finally subsided so feeling much happier!!

34 week bumpdate. Feeling very low and feeling like my hips/pelvis may detach entirely 😂 estimated around 6lb according to my midwife today!

I finished work yesterday afternoon, fell asleep right away and slept all the way through (well, apart from a million loo breaks). Final stretch!

Just catching up, last day at work yesterday was a little bit manic, however I got some gorgeous flowers delivered which was lovely. Then went out with a few friends for dinner for my "not baby shower" Had a lovely meal, ate too much and then went to a pub and say and had a non-alcoholic gin and tonic. Numbers in our area are very good at the moment and the pub was table service, so felt pretty comfortable. It was nice to do something with the new normal.

@Rachael321 Ah, how exciting, just a few more days before they start you off! Hope you’re having some really nice restful days in the lead up x

@SammiLou2312 Thank you. Yes, feeling a bit more relaxed now, hoping the scan on Thursday helps give some clarification then settling myself in to wait until 24 weeks. She’s still transverse, I can feel her hands/feet in the two lower corners of by belly, so if Thursday shows the placenta as being clear, I need to get going on trying to get her to shuffle round! Although I am now a bit more relaxed about the idea of a section if needed. Don’t know why it terrifies me so much when I’ve never met anyone to have a bad planned section.

@Whiffle77 Well done on 24 weeks, it is a massive milestone!

I really struggled in the heat this week, I’m so glad that it has cooled down a bit. Very much enjoyed the rain the past couple of days! My MIL never shuts up about how hot the summer was when she had my husband, so I’m secretly a bit pleased I can now say ‘not as hot or for as long as when I was pregnant!’ hahahahah. Small pleasures (she’s lovely but very intense and very over the top about everything, which I struggle with. She’s easy compared to my FIL though…)

@Shefliesonherownwings Ah, I love videos of them shuffling about. I got a few with my son, but this time because of her position I hardly ever see the movements.

Good luck to those finishing up work. I’m freelance and most of my work stopped at the start of lockdown, so I feel like I’ve been on leave for ages already! I am desperately trying to get a course finished that I started last year… deadline of end of August, really don’t know how I’m going to get it all done but really trying!

@TunnocksTcake We have a (not very) short list. We are rubbish at choosing names… Will probably wait and see now. It is such a big decision! Plus I adore DS’ name, and I don’t feel that way about any of our short list, but then maybe I didn’t love his as much until we chose it?! I can’t remember…

@Knotemma it sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday at your 'not baby shower' and you look gorgeous in the photo! Know what you mean about the new normal, much as it's been fine spending most of our time at home, it definitely feels good to get out occasionally. We're going to go 'out' for brunch this morning at a local pub which I'm looking forward to, have been craving a proper big breakfast this week!

@AnxiousLady1 glad your appointment went well and as you say plenty of time for the baby to spin around yet. I'm definitely with you feeling happier now the heat has gone!

@TunnocksTcake definitely pay attention to your husband - if there's ever a time to delegate housework this is it so take full advantage!

@Anon20something glad your midwife appointment was positive and rest assured you're not the only hormonal mess on here! I have two very close friends who have elective c sections booked within the next three weeks so it's going to be baby overload for me, I'm really excited to see their little ones but still struggle to compute that I will hopefully meet my own within about 6 weeks!

@JuniperAndRose I love the idea of you surprising your friends with your big belly, I hope you have a lovely time.

@SammiLou2312 I've peed myself several times recently - I really do need to get better at remembering to do pelvic floor exercises as suspect it'll be shot to pieces before long.... glad you're ok after that scary experience and can laugh about it now!

@Rachael321 so excited that we'll have over first baby arrive within the next week!

I need to start thinking about whether I would like an induction or not. Had a call with my consultant yesterday and he's booked me in for my final scan and consultation at 38 weeks (4 weeks on Monday) at which point I'll need to decide whether I want to be booked in for one around 40 weeks. There are obviously pros and cons - the plus side would be that it would be easier to manage my blood thinning meds and the associated risks, the negative being having to experience induction! I'm hoping she decides to make a natural appearance between 38 and 40 weeks to take the decision out of my hands but lots to think about over the coming weeks, any opinions / suggestions would be very welcome!

@Avocuddles its a really personal decision I think. My consultant has said I can hsve an induction at 39 weeks if I want but since the reason would be for my spd/mental health I'm going to aim for no induction because I know I can go into labour naturally and baby isn't at risk.
There's no harm in whatever decision you make. I read up on inductions and between that and the PBC decided that I'd probably cope best just waiting and letting her come when she's ready.
@knotemma that sounds lovely. I'd love to do something like that but I'm still really nervous 😩 Silly really as my ds will be at school in a few weeks.

@avocuddles I agree it's a really personal thing. If my placenta moves, they still want baby out at 40 weeks because of my age. I've decided that I will have sweeps and induction, but will have my cervix checked at each point. They've allowed an outpatient pessary induction to start, but if after that it looks like my cervix is nowhere near ready, then I'm probably going to stop before the drip and have a section instead. For me, I really want to avoid a long, several day induction, with a possible section at the end anyway. But that's based on my first labour, and what I'm willing to do/what I want. I found the AIMS book about induction really helpful, it gives pros/cons at each point of induction, what it does, what it means for your body and baby and I felt like I was making informed decisions about what I wanted to happen. It's really hard as I wish there was just a 'best' option! But everything is a compromise. But I was relieved my Dr was willing for me to go part through an induction and stop and request a section at any given point. That meant I feel I've got a bit of control over what I accept.

Oh, yes to pelvic floor exercises!! My midwife last time was really forceful about telling me to do them in pregnancy, and straight afterwards, six times a day, as much as I could do. I had a third degree tear and episiotomy, plus a large baby having leant on my pelvic floor during pregnancy and I have no continence issues at all. I had a good surgeon, but I also put a lot of it down to religiously sticking to the exercises. It's the only thing in pregnancy I'm really evangelical about

Updating my weeks, I didn't do it last week so I'm skipping straight to 32 weeks! This week I'm really trying to finish a course I started last year (I've got two weeks left to hand everything in), and I've got my private scan on Thursday to see about placenta position. Really looking forward to it, as it will hopefully give me a definitive answer as to where everything is at the moment.
