@Seahawk80 you are in my thoughts today. I hope you managed to get some sleep last night and I have everything crossed for you with regards to your epu visit xx

Sazzy312 · 27/07/2020 11:51

@Seahawk80 I've got my fingers crossed for you today, I hope all is OK, I had quite a few bleeds which was so worrying but baby was OK so I hope thats the case for you x

Seahawk80 · 27/07/2020 12:24

Thanks everyone. I'm not really feeling hopeful as although the bleeding has tailed off i now have terrible cramps. I'm now at the point of hoping that everything has passed and my uterus is contracting back to normal size. I'm going to the EPU at 2.30 so will update later x

tmc14 · 27/07/2020 13:09

Thinking of you @Seahawk80 xxx

MOGMOGMOG85 · 27/07/2020 13:55

Oh @Seahawk80 I'm so sorry to hear what you've been going through. Your story about going for the walk and being taken by surprise is heartbreaking. I'll be thinking of you today xxx

Avocuddles · 27/07/2020 17:22

@Seahawk80 so sorry to hear what you're going through, it's an agonising experience that I can certainly relate to. Sending you a big virtual hug and praying for the best for you.

@MOGMOGMOG85 sorry you've joined the awful heartburn club! I've been in hospital three times now as a result of mine as had attacks of chest pain so crippling that I was writhing in agony. My first major episode was around 23 weeks, generally day in day out I don't have anything worse than standard acid reflux but every few weeks I've had one of these appalling attacks. I'm fine with spicy food, takeaways, (decaf) coffee and tea and fizzy drinks, the things I've eaten before the attacks seem to be quite random but probably on the fatty / 'heavy' side with the worst incident happening after a big plate of pie and mash. From what I gather it's not an issue frequently using gaviscon and I have some pregnant friends who swig it out of the bottle! I tend to take a couple of gaviscon tablets when I'm feeling acidy / burpy, and before bed if I've had a heavy meal. I also take a prescription omeprazole tablet daily - they haven't completely stopped the issue but touch wood at least it's not too frequent. An extra pillow at night is a good idea. I also find that drinking something really fizzy can help to get the burps out which probably goes against all common advice!

Have a lot more posts to catch up on but hope you're all well. I've been busy and tired the past few days so apologies for being out of the loop. 31 weeks now!

So EPU confirmed a miscarriage. To be honest I was fine as the heavy bleeding returned plus terrible cramps. I'll say a proper goodbye soon but thanks for all your support xx

@Seahawk80 I’m so sorry. Thinking of you xx

Seahawk80 · 27/07/2020 22:54

Thanks everyone ,I feel pretty numb to be honest. DH couldn't come to the scan - I had to go alone but my best NCT friend met me and we actually had a lovely time drinking a few wines as we never get to hang out. It's just so hard, I feel like all my eggs are just dried up and useless. I'd love to try IVF as af least only the best embryos would survive but we just don't have 5k + to invest. I hope to be back here with a cautious BFP resonably soon xxxx

JuniperAndRose · 28/07/2020 09:39

@Seahawk80 I'm so sorry to hear your news. I hope that you and your DH can take some time together and that you are getting all of the support that you need xx

marmitecheesetoast · 28/07/2020 16:26

Hello, just wondering if anyone can recommend any guided mediations or similar for pregnancy after loss?
Just trying to find something to help instill a little calm.

Avocuddles · 28/07/2020 20:02

@marmitecheesetoast I recommend a search for pregnancy on insighttimer.com - there are a fair few meditation / mindfulness recordings that might help. Can't recall if any are specifically tailored to pregnancy after loss but there are certainly some which deal with anxiety and stress during pregnancy.

@Seahawk80 really hope to see you here again very soon. Look after yourself and your DH, wine with a good friend sounds like a great idea, I found that the hardest times after my losses were when I was alone with my own thoughts and having someone to talk to about how unfair life can be really helped me.

seahawk I wish I had some magic words. I'm so sorry and I hope you manage to be kind to yourself in the next weeks and months xxxx

@Avocuddles thanks for your tips re: acid reflux, I'm sorry to hear how bad it has been for you, that sounds awful! I seem to be better the last day or so, or it hasn't got so bad. Have been avoiding juice, coffee and fat which seems to be doing the trick. Either that or baby has just moved away from my stomach a bit! Woke up about an hour ago needing the loo, blew my nose, and started the worst nose-bleed I've had yet. It took about half an hour to finish but then I still didn't feel I could go back to sleep as when I lay down I started to taste blood. Think it's finally over now. This is the first time I had to actively try to stop it bleeding, sitting slightly forward, pinching my nose and with an ice pack at the top of my nose. It did seem to work which is good. I have no skills for this as I never ever ever had nosebleeds when not pregnant, not in all my 30+ years even a tiny bit! I guess pregnancy is sometimes just one thing after another! Hoping I can get a nap in later, or at least a better nights sleep tomorrow!

Hope everyone else is faring ok? Some of you must be imminently due to give birth now?? xxx
