Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

@LittleRa exciting. I keep checking to see if I've got my refeyral letter!

@Sausage1990 Got mine to take tomorrow. Will be 23 DPO (femometr) or 20 FF. So could be 2-3 or 3+ 🤞 IC was very dark this morning (OH still doesn't believe Im preggers, so had to take one to prove it for him 🙈)

Ill wait till 12 week scan to tell my boss, thats also a year mark from when I started. Might be a bit of a shock for him, but he is really good. Maternity pay crap but company have been brilliant with me, last company was dog shit. With my job I don't really want a full maternity leave anyway as I have my own customers and don't trust leaving them all to somebody else incase I loose them 🙈 taken me months to gain their respect as a newbie as it is

LittleRa · 13/08/2020 14:04

@Sausage1990 and @blodyn91 Thank you ☺️ Unfortunately as a teacher, it’s my first day back to school after the holidays!! The children aren’t back that day luckily but we will be having staff training on Covid procedures and risk assessments etc 😬 I was hoping to tell Head Teacher in person on that day and get scan for later that week. Oh well, I’ll just have to get in touch with her in the last week of the holidays. Appointment is 10am and not far from school so I shouldn’t be away from the training too long, and my friend can fill me in afterwards, only thing I’m thinking is if I get bad news at the scan I may not want/be unable to return to school afterwards 😕 Anyway, overthinking as usual and yes, it’s very exciting to have a date pinpointed for it and to know DP can come too 🥰💕

Mococo1 · 13/08/2020 15:58

@LittleRa yayyy! And @blodyn91 me too I'm checking the post everyday lol - do you know what kind of week they send it?

@Sausage1990 congrats on the 2-3! 😁

Il tell work at around the 13/14 mark purely because I have two weeks annual leave booked from like 12-14w and if its bad news then il have a nice time away from work without having to tell them.

My boss knows about my previous MC/EMC/CP due to time off work and appts and tbh I'm really lucky he's been really understanding and think he would be genuinely happy for me to tell him I am pregnant.

His SIL had a MC@ 6 weeks while back and he said it completely broke her so he gave me a pep talk about how strong I am and told me never to worry about work in a situation like this! I'm more sure the company would be a bit annoyed but as far as managers go I'm fine I think!

Ltay2 · 13/08/2020 16:47

Those of you that have already had your booking appointment how many weeks were you when this happened? I haven't yet heard from the midwives after my self referral, only a quick phone call to say they'd received it. The lady I spoke to did say it might be a few weeks until I heard anything as I'm still quite early on but just curious as to when to expect this to be. I'm 5+4 today.

Mococo1 · 13/08/2020 16:52

@Ltay2 mines 8.5 weeks! My work colleague got given her letter 3 days before her appointment which I thought was late 😕 but hers was a telephone appt so I think it varies on the trust!

LittleRa · 13/08/2020 16:57

@Ltay2 At my booking in appt on Tues, I believed myself to be 8+4 at the time, but the midwife put me at 9+3 based on last menstrual period and average 28 day cycle (whereas I was having long cycles, 35 days, I did tell her, and she said it’s fine, it’ll get adjusted at your scan if needed).

Ltay2 · 13/08/2020 17:11

@Mococo1 @LittleRa Did you just receive a letter telling you what the appointment day/time was then? Mine is mostly going to be over the phone and then just face to face for blood test and urine sample or so I've been told!

LittleRa · 13/08/2020 17:15

@Ltay2 No, I didn’t receive a letter- first of all I phoned my GP surgery and spoke to the receptionist and she posted out their “pregnancy pack” (just a a few sheets of paper), one of which said to phone the midwives on X phone number. I phoned the midwife number and they took my details and said someone would get back to me. They rang back about a week later to arrange the booking in appointment which as on Tuesday gone (I’ve written a description of the appointment further upthread). I received scan appt in the post today, two days after booking in appt.

Mococo1 · 13/08/2020 17:36

@LittleRa I'm going by my scan measurement at EPU but I'm 7+5 by a '28day' cycle- which I assume they will use at my booking appointment? I got given papers from EPU to take with me.

@ltay2 My trust has electronic letters so I got a text message and some information (like name address etc) to print and bring with me- it's face to face tho ! It also states il get a separate letter for my nuchal scan and to make sure I read the screening information but nothing so far! not sure about bloods/urine probs after the booking appt like the scan? Xx

Ltay2 · 13/08/2020 19:05

@Mococo1 @LittleRa So strange that I mentioned this today as I've just come home to a letter with my booking appointment 😂 it's a phone call and then says will arrange a date and time to meet for blood tests etc. Not until 9th September so I will be 9+3.

LittleRa · 13/08/2020 19:30

@Ltay2 How funny! Glad you got it though ☺️

blodyn91 · 13/08/2020 19:53

@Mococo1 I was told the letter would arrive within 7-10 days. I called the hospital on Monday. So really it won't arrive till next week. I just want to know if OH can come to the scan

Mococo1 · 13/08/2020 20:34

@blodyn91 fingers crossed for you 🤞🏽🤞🏽 so sad partners aren't allowed (baby is half theirs as well) but government is fine for people to go to the pub 🙃

Ltay2 · 13/08/2020 20:36

@Mococo1 So ridiculous isn't it! Luckily my hospital is allowing partners at scans at the moment but obviously could all change!

SmileyT · 13/08/2020 20:42

@Cocoblue22 yeah with my SIL and bestie it's not like they wouldn't do it again so hasn't put me off, but like you said knowledge is power x

@zippityzip and yes even though it doesn't work for some I'll be trying everything people suggest 😂

@LittleRa yeah if I hadn't lost my last pg I would've been at home 'working' up until August and then just gone back for a couple months before I gave birth but hey ho everything happens for a reason. As a mortgage advisor I see so many people who are up shit creek financially because of COVID so I'm just grateful that me and OH have still got jobs and getting paid x

@2020mission I'm so sorry it looks like another Chemical, definitely talk to your GP if nothing else to just get it on your record as they can refer you for more tests x

@blodyn91 apparently pregnacare can be really bad for making you feel sicky, depending on how many you have left maybe try switching brands, I've heard that helps loads of women x

@Mococo1 @Cocoblue22 @samilicious @Sausage1990 thanks for the support on my manager, I generally get on with everyone and it's so hard when the person you have to answer the phone to just makes you feel a bit like poop. Our first f2f since COVID is tomorrow so will just see how I feel about telling her 😬

So confession time, because I'm neurotic after everything that happened last time I suddenly got the fear today and booked a last min scan for this evening (photo attached) apparently in a couple of weeks it will look more baby like and less blob like but the sonographer was the best I've had really explained everything which was lovely and ended up with about 15 pics and 2 videos, growth is dead on schedule and measuring 8w5 which is exactly what I am from LMP 🥰🥰 x

It's been too long since I've made a list can I make a 12week scan/ EDD/ booking date of whatever your next milestone is..might be able to make a start before next thread. @LittleRa 1st September, tell me your dates ladies? xx

Ladies, I just had my first booking appointment today! The midwife was so lovely =) She said I should receive my 12 scan appointment in the mail soon. How long did you guys have to wait to receive your letter?

blodyn91 · 13/08/2020 20:51

@SmileyT it already looks like a baby I think 😍😍 thats definitely a pro to living in London, no idea where I could get a scan that quick! We put our best and final offer in on that barn today 😳🤞 trying not to think about how we will be able afford to do it up 🤣🤣 Unfortunately no dates to give you yet 😔

I also think its silly partners can't come in, 🤞 it changes soon for all of us!!

blodyn91 · 13/08/2020 20:52

@FairyLights2 was yours in person? or over the phone? What does the first booking appointment entail? 🙈

Ltay2 · 13/08/2020 20:56

@SmileyT Aww lovely scan pic! I really want to do an early scan some time soon when I'm 6 weeks just to reassure me but also can't really justify an extra £70 when we are already planning one for 9 weeks!

FairyLights2 · 13/08/2020 21:16

@blodyn91 It was in person. They take a urine and blood sample. The midwife also spends about an hour asking various questions about your physical and mental health. They also let you know how the entire process works and whether you're high, medium and low risk based on your answers. There's a lot of inputting data but a lot of information for you take in as well. I found it to be a pleasant experience. When is your first booking appointment?

blodyn91 · 13/08/2020 21:25

@FairyLights2 waiting on my letter to arrive 😁 guessing it will be soonish. Really hope mine is in person, I have so many questions 🙈🙈

Amy00 · 13/08/2020 21:36

@SmileyT lovely scan pic, so pleased for you! 🥰

@blodyn91 fingers crossed on the offer!! 🤞😬

@SmileyT queen 🐝 my EDD is 11 April, 8 week scan booked for 29 August

I'm finally registered on the system at the new gp surgery where we are moving to next week and spoke to the midwife on the phone this morning, they make the appointments through the gp booking system, and it will be face to face! I need to ring back tomorrow to confirm the date but she said will be aiming for when I'm 8 weeks and she is only there on Fridays so that should mean my booking appointment is 28 August - the day before our first scan. Eek!

SmileyT · 13/08/2020 21:43

@FairyLights2 yay to a booking appt, it is strange how different trusts have different rules, mine was over the phone but then I went in to meet a midwife, get bloods and urine... in the time I was waiting I'm sure they could've asked me the questions they asked over the phone 😂 I had my booking and scan dates at the same time but I know it's different for each trust. I think @LittleRa got hers a few days after booking appt ☺️

@blodyn91 I know it's starting to take shape and they was moving today which was honestly so nice to see, OH was in tears again. And yeah I'm quite lucky, with ultrasound direct there is one place about 15minutes walk from my work and another 15min walk from home, makes it way too easy though 🙈 yay to the barn, don't worry money always works itself out, getting the dream place is worth it, let us know how you get on. My booking was pretty straight forward as don't have any previous births and family history is pretty vanilla 🤷🏾‍♀️

@Ltay2 yeah honestly I don't think multiple scans are necessary before 12 weeks if you can wait, I think around 9/10weeks is nice as you can see more. I was just an anxious mess and knew I wouldn't be able to relax which is no good for either of us, but that's just my own hang ups and not what I'd recommend for others at all x

@Amy00 thanks and with so much going on for you I'm sure time will fly by x

Hi ladies,

Just having a quick catch up, I've felt absolutely rotten today, the nausea has been really bad and I had to have a nap on my lunch (working from home) and again after work. Been in bed watching films all evening and hoping I'll feel better tomorrow.

@SmileyT love the scan pic! So cool you could see bubs moving!

In terms of dates etc I had my first scan @ 7+3 on Sunday and have another arranged for 23/8 when I'll be 9+3. Had my booking appointment last week but don't have my 12 week scan appointment yet. EDD 25/3/21

FairyLights2 · 13/08/2020 22:04

@SmileyT how did I miss your scan picture? Aww your little bean is growing beautifully! So happy for you ❤️ Yeah, everywhere really is different. I was also told my DH can come to the 12 week scan but I know some hospitals aren't allowing that.

@blodyn91 excited for you hun! Let us know how it goes x
