Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

@Mococo1 Don't feel bad about yourself at all, your MIL is tactless. You are pregnant. I've gained tons of weight before getting pregnant so now I have this odd "bump" already I just look quite misshapen 😂

And very wobbly. And I already have a million stretch marks which will probably just get stretched again. I have love handles and my boobs are massive but saggy and my nipples have recently doubled in size.

However - your DH will still find you the most beautiful woman in the world. And I bet you are. Our self esteem will tank at certain points - boob sweat, constipation, vomiting. None of it is glamorous.

Like those women naked and pregnant on the front of Vanity Fair will be airbrushed and fake. Not real!

You are growing an entire human, plus another organ with the placenta. It's hard work. Eat whatever the fuck you like, wear whatever the fuck you want and be kind to yourself!

You're an amazing woman!

zippityzip · 12/08/2020 06:26

@2020mission How are you doing? Any more spotting? If this helps, on my scan than there was big dark patch under my uterus and was told that it was a bleed (it was bigger than the baby!) apparently it was from implantation and it'll either come out by itself over the coming weeks or be absorbed into my body. So I may have bleeding but it's also totally fine!

Skip86 · 12/08/2020 07:14

Omg blow air into your vagina?!!! 😂😂🤣🤣🤣 must tell OH to stop doing that.

@2020mission I had light bleeding through first trimester with my son and all was fine xx

@Amy00 I'm totally on board for gender neutral but don't like that it usually means monotone because I love muted colour. I steer away from baby pink/blue, but a big fan (for both boys and girls) of mustard, maroon, rust, deep green etc 😍

@Ltay2 haha I don't think you need us to tell you you will be totally fine after the mince incident 😜

@Cocoblue22 cereal and ice cold milk is my current go-to food too!

@zippityzip aaah your scan sounds bliss! So happy for you 💗 I'm on aspirin too, for two previous prem births due to placenta issues. Interested to know your dosage? I'm 150mg/day.
Oh so interesting about the bleed on your scan!

Ok so me not being able to find my scan pictures was just me being tech-daft. It's the report that's not available for a week, but I finally managed to find the images! There are 26 😳 most just blurry blobs so I'll just post one that looks somewhat baby-like! Hubby wasn't with me at the scan so this is all he's seen too! 🥰

Ltay2 · 12/08/2020 07:16

@Cocoblue22 Well I feel fine this morning so think I was being a bit over dramatic 😂 I'm going to stay well hydrated today anyway, it's so warm! I've woken up feeling like the sweaty mess you feel on holiday without any proper air con but when you're away it's ok coz all you're going to do is laze around the pool! 😂

@zippityzip So glad everything went well and you had a really positive experience! Seeing everyone's scans is amazing ❤️ makes it even more real for me even though my private one won't be for about 4 weeks!

Ltay2 · 12/08/2020 07:18

@Skip86 Yes I was being a tad dramatic, all is well! 😂 love your scan pic! how far along are you now? It's so clear!❤️

Mococo1 · 12/08/2020 07:44

@zippityzip so glad the scan went well for you ❤️❤️ and little bean is happy! And that the MW appointment went amazingly!

What an amazing Pep talk that was! Thank you so much You should be a motivator ♥️ loving all that passion and energy 😬

I'm weighing myself today and going to prep some soup etc today if it's not too hot (but doubtful need this weather to be over it's unbearable in my flat)

Can I just ask if you have an antreverted uterus?- the scanning lady told me I did and it's on my notes (so it means my uterus tilts far forward which means I'm far likely to show a bit earlier)

@Cocoblue22 yeh I've relaxed a wee bit! I know we are far off being safe as anything could happen at this stage- I'm not sure on the next scan just yet I'm hoping they give me a date on the nhs scan soon so I can decide if I want one or two scans inbetween as I know DH won't be able to attend nhs one x AI'm sorry about your experience at the shops! I guess as I've struggled to even lose any weight after marriage (just gaining constantly) it's really got to me that il never lose it once the baby comes- other than that how are you doing?x

@Skip86 omg! How gorgeous is your little one♥️ can't believe it what lovely images! Can see everything so clearly what an adorable nugget ! Xx

mrsmummy1111 · 12/08/2020 07:57

Absolutely thrilled for you @zippityzip !!!! I bet it's such a relief just to know everything's in the right place, there's a baby there and it's growing safe and well.

Scan sounds incredible! As you're nearby to me do you mind me asking where you went? Was it window to the womb in bexleyheath? We have an appt at the Croydon one on Sunday as it's closer to us but now I wish I'd booked bexleyheath if that's where you went!

@Skip86 I'm with you on the gender neutral - I knew what I was having with my son but didn't end up buying anything blue at all. I do however really like beiges and grey on babies when they're newborn. Everything is covered in shit and sick pretty quickly anyway but I feel like you can't beat a newborn in a crisp white sleepsuit.

@Mococo1 I totally echo what the other girls are saying. Your body is doing a hard enough job anyway, don't make it any tougher by worrying about your weight or how you look. The reality is, for me anyway, that all pregnant women look absolutely incredible as you know what they're going through and feeling in order to carry that child. Eat what you want and don't ever feel guilty for it. I look back at photos of me heavily pregnant with DS and to say I was enormous was an understatement. Every single part of my body was swollen but at the time I still weirdly felt beautiful. Maybe I'm biased though as I just absolutely love a preggo belly!! Just because you've had a baby doesn't mean you can't ever lose the weight, if that's what you choose to do once you're not pregnant then there's no reason why you can't. As soon as I started breastfeeding the weight seemed to fall off (and I was eating like a hog) but obviously that's not possible / the choice for every woman. But until the baby is here, don't think about your weight. You're beautiful just the way you are!

zippityzip · 12/08/2020 08:12

@Mococo1 Yep tilted uterus (same as my mum) AND my cervix is naturally very long, at an angle and far back which means getting internals and smears has always been an issue! But otherwise not a problem.

Fuck weighing yourself, get some floaty clothes (I've spent a fortune on eBay 😂) just eat well and enjoy yourself. If you can't relax when you're pregnant when the fuck can you!

@Skip86 Your baby is a real baby! Like arms and legs and everything. Mine was a blob with a heart 😂 it's so clear that's amazing.

@mrsmummy1111 I found window to the womb very expensive for literally FIVE minute scan. So this place was slightly initially - he obviously rents a room in another business but he was lovely and had all the knowledge. Plus two free prints.

zippityzip · 12/08/2020 08:13

@mrsmummy1111 Slightly ODD* initially

mrsmummy1111 · 12/08/2020 08:14

Thanks @zippityzip !!! Agreed, £79 for a "15 min" scan (it's never 15 min) but Croydon was only £49 which is why we also went with them. Thanks for the link, we're thinking of having a later private scan too so will definitely check your guy out!

FairyLights2 · 12/08/2020 08:24

@zippityzip I agree with @Mococo1 you should become a motivational speaker for pregnant women! Those words really resonated with me too! MASSIVE congrats. I'm so happy your scan went well and you had a great experience.

@Mococo1 So happy your scan went well too and there's a heartbeat. Rooting for you as well!

@SmileyT congrats too! I'm so happy all you ladies are receiving such positive news!

FairyLights2 · 12/08/2020 08:29

@Skip86 congrats! Lovely pics too :)

Wow, I can't keep up with the thread. Congrats to anyone else who received positive news. I'm so happy for you all x

zippityzip · 12/08/2020 08:53

@FairyLights2 @Mococo1 I'm here for the next 7 months 👍🏻😂

Seriously I know the rollercoaster, this is my third pregnancy so I've had the tantrums where I've literally ripped my wardrobe out and binned ALL of my normal size 10 gear screaming that ILL NEVER FIT INTO IT AGAIN and called everyone bastards and genuinely hated how I looked and that loss of identity.

My best advice is all this is temporary- soon your baby will arrive and then you've got a new focus and eventually you get your body back and before you know it you want to do the journey all over again.

I know this is my last one - so I'm trying not to get hung up on all the shit I did the last two times, crying that I'm fat and moaning that my back hurts and this whole process is shit and no one understands me 😂

This is the time to indulge yourself because soon you'll be low on the list of priorities when the baby is screaming and pooping and feedings 24/7.

Honestly though it's wonderful 😁

Lettie365 · 12/08/2020 09:48

Lovely to see the scan pics 🥰 still a while to wait for mine. Haven’t booked anything earlier than the 12 weeks one but a friend is a sonographer so I’m hoping for a cheeky favour scan around 7 weeks so I can check all is where it should be and looks ok before I tell work. I’m frontline health so kinda feel I need to tell them sooner rather than later.

Lettie365 · 12/08/2020 09:50

@zippityzip totally with you on trying to not get hung up on stuff. This’ll be our 3rd all being well and I Feel I missed my second pregnancy due to My first one being quite little so I’m hoping to embrace this one a bit more. Helps that so far I feel good but we’ll see how long that lasts! 😂

Sausage1990 · 12/08/2020 09:53

Gosh so much to catch up on this morning! I really appreciated the wise words from both @zippityzip & @Mococo1... Definitely need to keep it all in mind 😊

Such lovely scan photos and great to hear the scans are going well and that we have some healthy little beans 💕 I'm so excited for you all.

So I did a frer today at 15dpo (last was taken at 13dpo) and there is very clear progression 🙌🏻 which is such a relief for me. I was CONVINCED it was going to get lighter... But I'm feeling reassured and actually getting quite excited... Like guys this is happening haha

The photo attached I'd 12dpo, 13dpo & 15dpo today. 😁

Mococo1 · 12/08/2020 10:10

@Sausage1990 yay so happy for you that you have some relief! Looks like very obvious progression 😬👍🏽 so happy for you that you can feel a little bit more relaxed about things xxx

@Lettie365 totally understandable, would be doing the same if I was in your position!

@zippityzip loool thats defo gna be me in a few months time 😂 ripping clothes out of the wardrobe hahaha x

2020mission · 12/08/2020 10:20

@zippityzip hey I've had no spotting so far this morning 🤞 thanks for asking. My boobs are still hurting so I'm taking that as an indication that I'm still pregnant. Holding off until Friday morning to test in the hope that I'll see some good progression.

I think I made a mistake joining that springtime ladies FB group as I scanned through some posts and came across ladies chatting about bad tears during previous pregnancy births... not what I want to be thinking about at this stage 😂

Love your scan photos @Skip86 😃

@Sausage1990 that's a great FRER line, definitely time to relax now!

LittleRa · 12/08/2020 10:34

Hi all, love the scan photos and line progressions and all the news! Hope everyone is keeping well!

I had my midwife booking in appointment yesterday morning. It lasted just over an hour, I had to go by myself (no partners allowed), had temperature checked before going in, mask on, hand sanitiser etc

It was all the usual questions about medical background- mine, DPs and our immediate family- eg diabetes, heart problems, genetic problems etc, as well as lifestyle questions- smoking, drinking, employment/housing.

Because this is my 2nd, there were questions about my last pregnancy and birth. I’m a bit gutted because last time, DD had a slightly low birth weight- all was fine, vaginal birth, in the birth pool, no intervention, just gas and air, no stitches, she didn’t need anything afterwards, no jaundice etc, we stayed in 2 nights while I established breastfeeding and she had some top up formula feeds and were discharged when they were happy with her feeding and weight gain. ANYWAY due to the low birth weight last time I get put down as high risk this time and have to have a consultant appointment and extra growth scans and (finally getting to the gutting part) it’s likely to affect whether I can have a water birth again this time Sad

After all the questions, I had to fill two urine sample bottles, about 5 blood sample vials and have blood pressure, height and weight.

I thought I was 8+4 yesterday, based on LMP of 6th June and long cycles of 35 days, however midwife calculated it based on average 28 day cycle so put it as 9+3, she said that’s just what they use and it will be adjusted at scan as necessary.

Sausage1990 · 12/08/2020 10:38

Yeah @Mococo1 @2020mission I am feeling a bit more relaxed about it lol. There will always be some apprehension until any scans but definitely less now. I feel like I can enjoy this part now 😊

@2020mission haha yeah maybe it's quite ready to think about tears and birth trauma... At this stage ignorance is bliss haha x

2020mission · 12/08/2020 11:03

@zippityzip spoke to soon, spotting again 😑 no cramps or anything though

mrsmummy1111 · 12/08/2020 12:35

Does anyone else just feel like they wanna eat shit 24/7. Burgers, pizza, bread, McDonald's. I've got my normal weekly shop but everything is going to waste because I don't wanna eat 90% of it. Anything salad related can F off for starters, unless it's the salad on the side of my katsu curry.

Mococo1 · 12/08/2020 13:03

@mrsmummy1111 nope but I am just constantly hungry!! had brekkie at 11 and now I'm starving 2 hours later (this hunger is worse than fasting 15hours in Ramadan!)

My nausea has picked up a lot if I stay still in one position (not ideal when desk working) I must have psychologically blocked the symptoms before! I'm trying to hold out till 2 for lunch but doubt il make it till then 😭 defo want bread - I can imagine maccyds chips in my mouth right now but know once I get it il be nah don't fancy it as can imagine it tasting of oil. DH is still shocked that I haven't touched chocolates

Eat what you want babe! X

Sausage1990 · 12/08/2020 15:18

Ohhh I'm the opposite right now @mrsmummy1111, I know it's early but the thought of a full cooked meal is off putting. I don't really have any nausea or anything I just feel "off" and all I fancy is Celery & plain Crisps. I just don't fancy much.... Maybe it's the heat tho rather than anything else. 🤔

zippityzip · 12/08/2020 15:44

I'm constantly eating and then regret it.

Although today the heat is fucking killing me I just had a half hour nap which has made me feel worse and now I have loads of work to catch up on 😭
