Mich10 ? I work in an open plan office too, I?ve just learnt to be sneaky I guess! Good to have a choice of hospitals to go to I must have misled you, I?m 27 weeks at the mo (today in fact )

Oh Goingfor3, I have been thinking about you and your predicament and all that you are going through don?t be too hard on yourself, you will be stressed, its only natural and the baby will not be affected by that though of course it would be better for you both if you weren?t so worried but what can you do. Just take each day as it comes, be kind to yourself and let us support you all we can xx.

Glimmer ? good theory on the stress

Sybilvimes ? welcome and congratulations let us get you through until your nuchal

Jobean congratulations and welcome to you too! all the best for Thursday! We?ll all be behind you some people swear by the reassurance those Dopplers give and others say they make them worry because they can?t always locate the heartbeat.

Spugs ? that?s exciting!!! It?s lovely reassurance.

NH101 ? how fabulous you just knew didn?t you? I?ve got goose bumps for you I am so thrilled such a special gift

DonDons ? all the best for Thursday hon

Ellie ? I know wouldn?t it be amazing to see Popsy and the others here too

Hey Torres thanks so much for getting in touch with Rah

Basil that?s the spirit hon!!!

nh101andhertwinbeans · 16/10/2007 14:56

Yes if only Popsy would pop in with some good news. I am sure she is lurking somewhere just waiting for her BFP.

Basil I so so so hope it works out for you this time. Getting to six weeks is pretty good! Lots of MCs have already happened by now. Have you got a scan booked.

Thinking of you goingfor3. How are you doing? x

scorpio1 · 16/10/2007 15:19

nh101 only just found you are having twins, yay!!!

EllieG · 16/10/2007 15:36

Hey torres - am getting more and more terrified at having to plan wedding with 8 week old baby in tow - just thinking today about how fat and tired I will be is making me shudder. Is going to be very small though, so hopefully will be OK.

EllieG · 16/10/2007 15:37

Wedding small, I meant, not baby. Though baby will be too of course.

WinkyGirl · 16/10/2007 15:40

Hey Goingfor3 and everyone trudging through the first 12 weeks. My strategy to deal with getting from 5 weeks to 12 weeks was to read the Harry Potter books from 1 - 7. I'd never read them before and my workmates twisted my arm. I slept in the spare room and went to bed to read and then if I woke in the night I read. (Impossible to do with snoring DH next to me!) They really took my mind off the pregnancy worries.

nh101 wow - well done you!

Hello everyone else!!

EllieG · 16/10/2007 15:46

Good idea WG! How are you anyway?

goingfor3 · 16/10/2007 15:50

I do love my HP books but I fear that once I start I just can't stop and the whole family gets neglected!!!!! I've just been packing for our holiday which has made me feel better.

Janus · 16/10/2007 17:08

Ronshar, I hope you are managing to hang on in there, are you having a scan next week? Will your bloods show something tomorrow or do you have to wait for results? I do sympathise though, the waiting is awful. Take the good stories of all the ladies who have had bleeding in early pregnancy. My SIL had a huge bleed, they actually told her it was a mc without scanning her but told her to come back in a week to check everything 'was out'. She went back to find the baby was absolutely fine and the scan showed she had bleeding from another area in, I think, her uterus and went on to have a baby boy. Good luck.
Goingfor3, I'm so sorry you feel so bad. If (and you may not know the answer to this so sorry if it's the wrong thing to say) they had scanned you with the previous baby is there a chance you would not have had a stitch? I'm only saying this because maybe you will never need the stitch and so you will never have to worry about consequences. I would expect you could go for a scan as often as you want so that you always feel in control and if you have any worries you can reassure yourself. Maybe technology is even a little bit better now than it was when you last had a stitch? (sorry, I don't know how long ago this was for you.) As you know, I'm facing the prospect of a stitch too, I'm meeting the consultant soon but I have been told by a midwife who made my appointments that he is 'an expert' in dealing with this. I will see how I feel when I meet him. Do you get a good 'vibe' from your consultant? It is so important to trust them. If not, can you investigate if there is anyone else who specialises in your area? Even private for a second opinion may be worth it for your own piece of mind. Sorry if I'm rambling, just trying to come up with ideas. Am thinking of you though.
Sybil, welcome, the best advice is to keep chating on this thread, it has certainly got me through so far, 9+6, everyone knows exactly what you are going through, so much more, I find, than in RL!
Jobean, welcome again, 12+5 with you being able to hear the heartbeat must be good! I too had a missed mc at the 12 weeks scan last time and am trying to get through to this scan without losing my sanity! I am also 37 and worried about the nuchal too, when will the worrying end?! I so hope it will all be good for you.
nh101, oh wow, twins!! How lucky you are, do you have any other children? Hope you feel well and managing to get some rest!
Hello to everyone else, hope you are all feeling well (or even sick if it gives you peace of mind!).

goingfor3 · 16/10/2007 17:13

Janus I had the stitch in July this year, I wish now that I had opted for the regular scans. They are going to be weekly at the most risky stages. I do have confidence in the dr looking after me. The stitch did work for my first 2 girls and have no regrets about having it put in with them. I'm sure your consultant will offer you the best advice.

feedmenow · 16/10/2007 18:19

Goodness, you HAVE all been busy on here! One or two manic days at work that stop me checking on MN and I miss a whole host of excitement!

Sybil & Jo, welcome to you both. Jo, h/beat is great. Am sure scan on Thurs will be fine. And Sybil, I hope the next 7 weeks fly by for you! Ridiculous that you don't get an NHS scan til 20 weeks though

NH, wow, what a fabby kind of surprise! You must be thrilled/shicked/scared/happy and loads more all in one go!

Ellie, lol re small! At least if you have a little bundle of joy you will hopefully have less of a bundle of excess weight to lose afterwards

Goingfor3, sorry to hear you feel so anxious. Just keep breaking it down til the next "goal" and you'll get there. My next goal is 22 week scan in 4 weeks, but my most important one is 24 weeks - cos once I'm there then should, god forbid, anything happen, at least they will try and save the bubba. This is the only way for me - small "bite sized" chunks. I sometimes hate that I am wishing time away, but needs must!

Anyone else here going to Earls Court on Friday? If so, be sure to where a "Mumsnetter" sign so that I can say hi

ronshar · 16/10/2007 19:20

Oh my goodness NH101 what fantastic news.
.
I have twin sisters and I was always so of their close relationship. You are truely blessed.

Bad news for me though, and a little bit of good. My blood results came back at 1.005. So not real good. But it means that there is nothing left so will be able to try again next week!!! Yipee.

So I want to say thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support. I would have struggled to keep it together if it wasnt for all of you beautiful ladies.
I will be back soon

feedmenow · 16/10/2007 19:58

Oh Ronshar, so sorry to hear that

WinkyGhoul · 16/10/2007 20:12

Hey EllieG you may be surprised at how great you look 8 weeks after the birth! Plus if you are breastfeeding you will lovely big firm boobs

Ronshar very sad to hear your news. Will keep my fingers crossed for you. I had an early mc 2 weeks before falling pg this time round. Hoping you have the same luck.

I am 18 weeks tomorrow. Usual pregnancy irritations like constipation and yearning for banned foodstuffs and wine. But am also feeling very blessed. Two weeks until 20 week scan wa-hoo.

becklespookle · 16/10/2007 20:37

Oh Ronshar , I was so hoping for better news for you. Hope its not too long before you are back on here with us hun xxx

becklespookle · 16/10/2007 20:45

NH! WOW! Congrats on your twins! So glad they're okay and you saw their healthy little heartbeats!

Spugs - yay for your LO wriggling away, that feeling is the best part of pregnancy IMHO. I love it now my LO is getting bigger and you can sometimes feel feet, knees or a bottom poking out! Makes me feel really close to baby and apparently from about 28 weeks s/he has a good sense of touch and can feel when you touch her/him!

Winky 18 weeks where has the time gone?!

FlameBat, thanks for letting us know about MOM - hope she gets her internet back soon, can you say hi to her from us?

Hi to everyone else , what a lovely full thread we have again! Must dash now as there is a pile of ironing threatening to take over my living room... will try and catch up properly tomorrow.

Bec x

Bouncingturtleskulls · 17/10/2007 06:47

Hello all!

Ronshar sorry for your loss... we hope to see you here again soon.

NH101 - congrats!! I have twin brothers they were a complete nightmare lol only joking, my mu cope fine, I used to love helping with them - I was 5 when they were born.

Mich10 - A word to the wise about Sunderland Royal, my friend gave birth there last month, they put her on a ward after the birth because they were very busy. Apparently September is a busy time for births, apparently because there is nowt on telly at Xmas . Hopefully you'll have no problems.

Welcome to the newbies, wishing you a successful and uneventful pg.

Had yet another day from hell, had to go to West Yorkshire midmorning to attend a meeting at another site, 2 hours drive from my usual place of work. At least it was only an hour and 20 from home! Bit of excitement last night, had terrible trouble sleeping what with DH's incredibly noisy chesty cough and I simply couldn't get comfy. If I lay on my right side, my tummy hurt. If I lay on my left side my tummy hurt. So I tried on my back but propped up on pillows. And then - Turtle moved! Not the usual arm & leg waving and kicking me type movements, I felt the whole baby move . I think it is no longer perpendicular to my spine and is now parallel - hopefully head down! DH said he could see the difference this morning, my waist has retured and bump is lower!

EllieG · 17/10/2007 09:07

That IS exciting Bouncingts! How many weeks are you now?

Ronshar - lots of love to you lady. Hope you will be back here soon x

gingercat12 · 17/10/2007 09:57

Ladies, I am thinking of you all, but only lurking at the mo, as my 20-week scan is tomorrow, and I am petrified. Am trying to be positive though. Just like feedmenow I also like to achieve regular milestones. It seems to work so far.

Bouncingturtleskulls · 17/10/2007 12:18

Ellie - I'm 30+3!! According to one of the ladies on the Dec AN club, baba is engaging!
Seeing MW week on Thursday, so I guess will know them if I am tight!

Gingercat - good luck for tomorrow!

MrsMcSpooky · 17/10/2007 12:24

Ronshar ? I am so sorry hon I really am, hopefully you?ll fall again really quickly and I?ll have everything crossed for you xx we?ll keep your seat warm xxx

nh101andhertwinbeans · 17/10/2007 12:28

Ronshar - see you back here next month girl! Good luck!!!

MrsMcSpooky · 17/10/2007 12:30

Hey Scorpio ? how are you getting on?

EllieG you?ll be fine, most wedding prep needs to be done before the 8 week mark anyway so you?ll have it all done before the baby arrives I?m sure by then life will have settled down a little (can you tell I?m a first time Mum?!) and I bet you?ll be looking fab and living on adrenaline anyway!

WinkyGhoul like the name! ? Interesting strategy! any unusual baby names now on your list?

Ohhhh Goingfor3 ? where are you off to?

Janus ? hope your consultant appointment goes well

Feedmenow ? I totally agree about the bite sized chunks, I am still doing that ay 27 weeks. Have a fab time at the Baby Show, v

Beckle ? I think it?s amazing that our babies can dream from 27 weeks too what about I wonder? Huge supplies of amniotic fluid?! I?ve been trying to pounce on and tickle my baby?s feet but they are too quick for me!

Bouncing ? how funny about the baby moving like that! I hope you are more comfy now! I?m going to buy one of those sausage pillows, I really feel like the bump needs support in bed now.

Gingercat ? everything crossed for tomorrow hon

Got MW this pm so hope to hear that lovely thumpety thump of Beanie?s heart ? so lovely and reassuring

goingfor3 · 17/10/2007 12:45

MrsMc we are staying in a caravan in Sussex. We have never had a holiday like that before so don't know what to expect. We looked in to going to centreparcs but fours days during half term was over £800 so we opted for a week in a Hoeseasons caravan, dd1 could afford that price(she has more money that me!)
