Hi, starting this thread -very tentitively- as a graduation from the TTC after MMC group. A couple of us have begun to get BFPs and I would like a space to go though this with people who get why I'm so anxious - especially in the first trimester! Some of the other threads are so big and rather gung ho and I want to tread a bit gently right now!
I am only 4 weeks but have been getting progressively darker tests since 7-8dpo.
I'm becoming more certain this is not a chemical but I am being so cautious! Definitely too scared to work out a EDD yet!

@ew1990 its a great thing your daily testing is slipping! It shows you are becoming less anxious I think?! I have 3 ICs left and a CB digital. Once they are gone then that's it. 🤦

Re. Getting excited I think it all depends on how I look at it. I am allowing myself to think about baby names etc. now because I actually find it helps to think positively ... But on the other hand, am I setting myself up for a worse fall if it all goes wrong 🙀

I have told a few people. I was so glad when people knew about my pregnancy and I could tell them about the MMC. It was actually harder to tell people who didn't know I was pregnant in the first place. But I am a 'talker' and need everyone to know my business all the time 🤣 !

Cramping still here. Going to go to work for a couple of hours tomorrow and if it still feels bad in the afternoon go to EGU as advised. I have done extensive googling and wonder if it might be an ovarian cyst ?? I have PCOS and uterine firbroids (which caused me to be hospitalised twice with the pain with DDs pregnancy) ... 🤞 It's this and not anything more sinister ... Xxx

@ranoutofgoodnames thinking of you tomorrow xxxxxx

@ew1990 I got restless legs and it took me a while to realise it was a pregnancy thing!! Less testing is good - in the sense that it means you are feeling less anxious agreed with @smilingdonkey - but also no problems if you do keep doing it. Although have read about the “hook effect” where the hcg levels are so high that you get a negative result and this can happen if you test for too many weeks 😳😳😳

Thank you for your thoughts and positive vibes! Scan is in the afternoon and I will update you all - I am hoping for the best but aware that the signs are not in my favour. But I survived before and I will survive again if it is bad news - all part of the journey to get our baby and I am reconciled to the fact that there may well be a couple of false starts.

But you know. If this is another false start then 2020 can fuck off and I am going to bed for the next month or so. With all the chocolate. Ever. xxx

@smilingdonkey @ranoutofgoodnames i wasn't going to test this morning as I had a wee at 4 but I dipped when one at 6 and got a pretty good line for a 2 hour old.

I have talked about being pregnant with dp. Stuff like I wouldnt find out the sex this time.

I also told loads of people I was pregnant but then when I had to tell them about the MMC every women at work it has happened to them and they've gone on to have healthy babies so it gave me hope.

@bubblybon glad your ok.

I'll be thinking of you today @ranoutofgoodnames

Excellent beautiful line @ew1990!

Good luck today @Ranoutofgoodnames

@ew1990 Your shifts sound tiring even without being pregnant! Are you a nurse?

I’m 6 +1 so my symptoms are creeping up on me one by one. I literally get them all; hate being pregnant! What made the MMC worse was the fact I suffered with symptoms for no reason.

@Smilingdonkey that's true. Even after the 12 week scan, we can't relax, but even at 24 weeks, survival chance is slim for a preemie. I had a premature baby (1 month) so that's one of my worries, as well as loads of other pregnancy issues.

ew1990 · 06/07/2020 08:46

@sakura I'm a hca. Couldn't be a nurse. Too much responsibility.

MrsTtobe · 06/07/2020 08:53

How are you feeling today @Smilingdonkey? Hope the cramps have subsided! I worry if I have pain and worry if I don't. We just can't win can we. I have literally never felt so anxious in my life. Every time I go to the toilet I have to talk myself through it. 🙈😂My OH thinks im nuts.

@DanceM1 try not to worry. At 5 weeks pregnant I 100% felt like my period was coming. I had definite period pains, down my thighs, across my front. Just like when AF comes every month. Very strange but by 6 weeks they had gone and now I have dizziness and nausea to contend with. 😳😂 x

bubblybon20 · 06/07/2020 09:11

@ew1990 looks like good progression!

Good luck today @Ranoutofgoodnames

Feel quite calm today, finally got a 3+ on digital, pitting me at 5 weeks today. Hopefully I can start to calm myself down a little bit now 🤣 we'll see how long they lasts!

Hope everyone has a good day 😀

peonyrose87 · 06/07/2020 09:47

How's everyone doing today? I'm six weeks today and still don't really have symptoms-my boobs are tender and heavy but not really sore, I'm not sick, I have a bit of insomnia but that's it 🤷🏻‍♀️ trying not to stress too much about it but at this point last time in December I was living on ginger beer and grapes as I couldn't stomach anything else.

@ew1990 beautiful line!!

Flatwhite32 · 06/07/2020 10:07

Hi ladies. I hope you don't mind me commenting, I had a MMC discovered at the 12 week scan in August 2017, then went on to have DD in July 2018. I'm now 12 weeks pregnant with DC 2, scan is on Thursday. Although my MMC was nearly 3 years ago and my last pregnancy was fine, the fear of turning up (alone this time too, eek) and all going wrong never leaves. Hope you're all doing ok. @ew1990 I recognise your username, maybe from the March 2018 threads? Or am I imagining that?!

ew1990 · 06/07/2020 10:43

@flatwhite no i remember you. We was on the first time pregnancy thread back in 2017! How Are you? Hope your well

ew1990 · 06/07/2020 10:44

I had DD November 2017. I remember you having your first MMC. Im crossing all my fingers for you tomorrow.

Flatwhite32 · 06/07/2020 14:25

I'm good thanks @ew1990! Where does the time go?! My DD will be 2 in just over a fortnight! I'm so nervous about Thursday. The fear never leaves you. How are you doing?

ew1990 · 06/07/2020 14:34

I know! 4 months and DD will be 3! No I don't think it ever does.

So ive been across to epu. They said to go on Wednesday when im next in and they will take bloods to check hcg and then see when they can get me in for a scan.

I Didn't really want an early one as I don't want false hope that everything's ok and then for it to go wrong. But I can't spend the next however many months to scared to go for scans. Im trying to think positive and get through the next 2 months

Smilingdonkey · 06/07/2020 16:06

So I'm at A and E and they have found blood, lucocytes and ketones in my urine. I have been googling. What does this mean? Infection? Aren't ketones about insulin?
They don't seem concerned about ectopic yet ....

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 06/07/2020 16:07

Leukocytes (sp?!)

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 06/07/2020 16:11

@ew1990 that's great they are giving you and early scan! I know you said you are not sure but I think it will be reassuring 😊 My trust seem to be very stingy about giving them to us 😩

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 06/07/2020 16:12

@flatwhite32 welcome and congratulations! Looking forward to a scan pic tomorrow 🤞😊 xxxxx

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 06/07/2020 16:13

@peonyrose - try not to compare pregnancies as each is so different (I totally would be so that's hollow advice! 🤣) Xx

OP posts:
ew1990 · 06/07/2020 16:35

@smilingdonkey leukocytes are normally a sign of a water infection. That could be what the achey pain Is? And ketones is to do with diabetes but don't take my word for it.

bubblybon20 · 06/07/2020 16:37

@Smilingdonkey also the blood could be from a water infection too? 🤷🏻‍♀️

DanceM1 · 06/07/2020 16:44

@MrsTtobe thank you!! Poor you with the other symptoms.. its so strange isn't it.. I feel like I desperately want to develop sickness etc but know I would hate it as well 🤣

In terms of early scans, my EPU told me when I had the MMC that I can go to them for an early scan for reassurance next time.. so I hope they do let me!

Smilingdonkey · 06/07/2020 17:09

So now they say none of those things are important and no need for antibiotics I have to call EGU / EPU for a scan tomorrow.
I'm now convinced it's bad news 😩

OP posts:
ew1990 · 06/07/2020 17:12

@@smilingdonkey try not to worry.

I know you have to have leukocytes and nitrates to be present for them to send off for a sample testing.

I had horrendous pain with DD at 6 weeks. Thought the worse. Had an early scan and there was a heartbeat. They said I had an cyst on my ovary which could be causing pain. It's quite normal to happen on the ovary you ovualted from. By my 12 week scan it had gone
