Hi, starting this thread -very tentitively- as a graduation from the TTC after MMC group. A couple of us have begun to get BFPs and I would like a space to go though this with people who get why I'm so anxious - especially in the first trimester! Some of the other threads are so big and rather gung ho and I want to tread a bit gently right now!
I am only 4 weeks but have been getting progressively darker tests since 7-8dpo.
I'm becoming more certain this is not a chemical but I am being so cautious! Definitely too scared to work out a EDD yet!

@mimba the only symptom I had with DD was feeling like I was going to come on my period. Like a really heavy feeling with period cramps. For a few weeks. And I had spotting with her. Hope this reassures you a bit.

ew1990 · 30/07/2020 10:06

And welcome @poppy and @workingmama. Lovely to See you both here

Sakura54 · 30/07/2020 10:27

Congrats @poppy10121 great news Understandable that you’re terrified. I think we all are.

It’s amazing that we got BFPs so quickly. At this rate, our other thread is going to be empty lol.

@swishswashswoosh As I was dated back by 5 days, it’s made me feel like my scan was way too early. I think the 4% is for seeing heartbeat at 8 weeks? I got dated back to 7 weeks, but anyway I’m 9 weeks tomorrow and still haven’t vomitted yay! Would be nice if I could make it through without this time.

@Mimba1 Yes it’s normal. This is my third pregnancy and I have a DS. I get bad cramps for weeks every time, which start around the time AF is due.

Mimba1 · 30/07/2020 11:03

@Sakura54 @ew1990 thank you for reassuring me! My hands were physically shaking with the amount of adrenaline I had when I went to the loo last night which I know isn't healthy!

I somehow only just realised that this was meant to be a graduation from a TTC after MMC group - don't know how I missed that! I hope you don't mind me gatecrashing...

DanceM1 · 30/07/2020 14:16

Hi ladies, so sorry I've missed so much! I usually get notifications when someone posts but haven't done for a few days. I think I've missed too much to catch up with each post individually but welcome to those that have joined us and congratulations!

For those worrying @bubblybon20 @ew1990 I hope you have been able to relax a little. I had a complete feeling of dread before my scan last week... maybe you are worrying more because its starting to feel real? That's when I panicked. I'm back to worrying a bit today because my boobs are not as sore, but trying to not think about it. I've been absolutely exhausted this week... my body just feels so heavy..really weird! Ive also had the guilt about not exercising but even hoovering leaves me wanting a nap at the minute 🤣

@Mimba1 I haven't had a successful pregnancy before but I had a lot of pain like that this pregnancy before I had an early scan last week and everything was good then so I dont think it is a bad sign. Just our bodies working hard (that's what I keep telling myself!)

swishswashswoosh · 30/07/2020 14:49

@Sakura54 thank you, yes there are a few studies which show miscarriage risks by week. I think the consultant I have seen is going by the most optimistic one!

This link is also quite a good one (dr gave it to me) which looks at all the studies that have been done around miscarriage rates and how they change in early pregnancy. It actually makes for quite positive reading if anyone is interested.

@DanceM1 I think you're right! It's just so hard to stay calm, I have currently no symptoms only a headache but I think that's because of the weather as it's stuffy! 😓 I've booked my test 🙈 for Sunday at 10:15! I'm so so nervous, my mums coming with me. But hopefully all will be okay 🤞🏻 x

ew1990 · 30/07/2020 15:25

@dancem1 yes maybe. It's just so hard.

@swishswoshswoosh I cant click the link.

Hope everyone's doing Ok? @bubblybon20 good luck for Sunday. Not you need it. Hope everyone enjoys the nice weather were having tomorrow

bubblybon20 · 30/07/2020 15:45

I mean scan don't know why it says test lol 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thankyou @ew1990* hope you're okay!

SkyBlue20 · 30/07/2020 16:25

@bubblybon20 How frustrating about your appointment! Exciting for your scan though!

@Mimba1 Of course we don't mind you being here - it's open to anybody in our situation, not exclusively those who were on the other thread, it just happens that a lot of us have made our way over ☺️

@DanceM1 I'm with you on the tiredness - it's overwhelming! I keep having a nap on my lunch break, haven't managed it today though and I'm shattered! Off tomorrow so powering through to get everything done and then logging off!

@swishswashswoosh Thank you for that link - am part way through reading it and it's really interesting! I really struggle with stats as I was in the so called 1% last time (MMC after seeing a strong HB at 7 weeks) but nice to see them nonetheless - I try to remind myself I can't be that unlucky twice, right?!

Still no phonemail from my hospital about my booking appt, it's been 10 days now... I know there's still plenty of time but I'm so impatient and that was my next milestone so I just want the date already!

ew1990 · 30/07/2020 16:32

@skyblue20 it's frustrating isn't it. I Finally managed to get through to the community midwife this morning. They be filled the referral form in and I should expect a phone call late next week they said. I'll be nearly 9 weeks then. On the plus side it wont be that long till my scan at that point

SkyBlue20 · 30/07/2020 17:04

That’s a good way of thinking of it, @ew1990! I’ll be nine weeks next weekend, too, sounds so much closer to the scan than my current 7+4! So yes, the later the appt, the better maybe. Just aware that some thing have to be tested for around 10 weeks, don’t they?

Also don’t know where ‘phonemail’ came from in my last post 😂

brewstermama · 30/07/2020 17:13

Thank you very much for your welcome @SkyBlue20 and @Mimba1.
My estimated due date would be 7 April, so it's super early days. I keep testing every morning and the line is getting stronger and stronger, which is no guarantee I know but at least for now it is reassuring. Mimba, I had early cramping when I was pregnant with my daughter and it was a very smooth and uneventful pregnancy, so I agree with the others that this is normal. Every pregnancy is different and symptoms may vary from person to person. I also second what you said about struggling to concentrate, it is hard to keep focus on work, especially when writing reports rather than being in meetings.

I am trying to keep a day-by-day approach as well. Haven't dared to contact the GP/midwives yet as with my MMC's it felt so pointless and cruel to have the excitement of the booking appointment only to find out about the MC at the dating scan. This time I think I will book an early private scan at 8 weeks (still ages away), and hopefully have the booking appointment after that.

@bubblybon20: I understand how you feel about the scan, it's exciting but also nerve-wracking. Hope all will go well.

Mimba1 · 30/07/2020 18:51

Thank you everyone for telling me this is normal. I'm clinging onto these messages so hard!

@SkyBlue20 I'm in the 1% too - healthy scan with a heartbeat at 8 weeks. Went for another private reassurance scan at 9 weeks because of a bit of spotting (which had stopped - NHS said I was almost certainly fine) and no hb. Worst day of my life. So much harder than my first MC having seen them moving. Now if only I could be in the 1% on the lottery!

I have an NHS scan this time at 7 wks. It's so awful that we have to go alone. A crossword definitely helps in the waiting room - think I got that tip off MN!

Workingmama1 · 30/07/2020 20:34

@brewstermama I think we have the same due date! Also really struggling to concentrate, barely did anything productive outside of meetings today.

I've not done anything to get the ball rolling, with my daughter I rang as soon as I saw a bfp, I think I will wait until 6 weeks this time. But for some unexplainable reason I'm feeling more positive this time than I was with my mmc...

One thing that's bugging me is the increase in discharge, I keep freaking out thinking I've started bleeding but its just discharge!

Poppy10121 · 31/07/2020 07:46

@swishswashswoosh thanks for the link to the study, I do take some comfort from the numbers even though I was one who saw a heartbeat at 8 weeks and never again. I am trying to stay in the mindset that it was just bad luck and this pregnancy will be different.

@SkyBlue20 I can’t believe they’re keeping you waiting so long for appt, how frustrating! Hope you hear soon!

@brewstermama and @Workingmama1 I think I have the same due date as you both too, according to my app! Workingmama I know what you mean about the discharge - I have been dashing to the loo in between meetings convinced it’s all over because it feels like bleeding. To be honest I’m also still checking for blood every time I pee as well - this is going to be a long road to 12 weeks.

I’m also feeling so thirsty this time. I wake up every morning feeling so dehydrated. I’m hoping it’s a good sign that I feel I have a lot more symptoms than the pregnancy that ended in MMC.

brewstermama · 31/07/2020 16:23

@Workingmama1 and @Poppy10121, excited to be EDD buddies! Fingers crossed that we can share happy milestone celebrations (as well as stress leading up towards them).

Hope all are well today and coping with the excessive temperatures. Have a lovely weekend everyone, and a all good wishes for everyone with scans coming up.

swishswashswoosh · 31/07/2020 20:43

@Poppy10121 @Mimba1 @SkyBlue20 ridiculously I was also one of the unlucky ones where I saw a heartbeat that then disappeared, although the growth was not right (already too far behind dates) and the key thing the consultant said was that the heartbeat was slower than ideal (growth/dates aside) and that was a big indicator of whether it would continue. It's weird, at the time I was searching for any glimmer that might suggest the signs weren't saying what I feared and that I was watching my miscarriage happening almost in slow motion but this time I am taking comfort in the fact that all the signs (heartbeat presence and rate, cervix length and closure) are suggesting this one is headed in the right direction and that has actually given me some relief (until the next scan of course!!).

Poppy10121 · 01/08/2020 09:21

@swishswashswoosh that’s great news for you 😊 to be honest last time is all a bit of a blur to me but I did have some early bleeding (which is why I had a scan at 8 weeks) and they did mention the baby was a bit small but then we saw the heartbeat and EPU said it all looked good and dates might just be out so I totally forgot all the other signs that things were not well and just focused on that. This time around I’m very clear on the dates so i don’t think I’ll have any uncertainty but I’m aware I’m still a few weeks off when the bleeding started before so just counting down and hoping it doesn’t happen again 🤞

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunny weekend x

Maggi85 · 02/08/2020 09:31

Hello all hope you are all feel good and having a relaxing Sunday - is anyone else in the group on the progesterone pessaries?xx

DanceM1 · 02/08/2020 09:31

@bubblybon20 good luck for your scan this morning.. I'm thinking positive thoughts for you 💕

@SkyBlue20 I love that you've been able to have a nap on your lunch break.. Good for you! Im off work now until September and I keep thinking, how would I cope if I was in work?!

I hope you are all doing well ladies and enjoying your weekend!

Workingmama1 · 02/08/2020 10:37

I hope your scan went OK @bubblybon20

I decided to do another test (not sensible I know!) and had a right freak out at 5am this morning as I thought my line has faded or not progressed as it was quite light for 16dpo, turns out in my morning haze I had my lines the wrong way round and I actually have a dye stealer and the test line is darker than the control!

Top test is Wednesday and bottom this morning.

Feeling sorry for myself this morning though as my daughter has brought a nasty cold home from nursery which we've all now got so I feel awful with that on top of early pregnancy symptoms. Thankfully though we got her covid test back and negative. I often get stomach ache with colds and do now and its freaking me out but I'm hoping the strong test this morning means that all is well (at least for now!). Literally just was to lay on the sofa all day, there will be far too much peppa pig on today for a bit of peace 😂

Hi all! Just got back from my scan, measuring a week ahead. So 9+6 today! Considering I've had no symptoms what's so ever! So really reassured! 🤩🤩🤩 hope you're all good!

Thankyou @DanceM!

@Workingmama1 my tests were exactly the same as yours! I freaked myself out too thinking it had faded! But that's a good sign how strong that line is! 😀

DanceM1 · 02/08/2020 11:13

@Workingmama1 thats great news about your tests.. look great! Sorry you're feeling so rubbish though. I hope you manage to get a reasonable rest!

@bubblybon20 ahhhhhh!!!! I'm SO happy for you! A week ahead- wow!! Thats wonderful news. I also have less symptoms this time but feel more tired. Hopefully it's an OK sign for us then! Have you told people you are pregnant yet?
