Hi, starting this thread -very tentitively- as a graduation from the TTC after MMC group. A couple of us have begun to get BFPs and I would like a space to go though this with people who get why I'm so anxious - especially in the first trimester! Some of the other threads are so big and rather gung ho and I want to tread a bit gently right now!
I am only 4 weeks but have been getting progressively darker tests since 7-8dpo.
I'm becoming more certain this is not a chemical but I am being so cautious! Definitely too scared to work out a EDD yet!

Morning everyone! Crazy busy day at work today with pretty much back-to-back Zoom calls - I had none for months and now everyone wants them all the time!

@Mimba1 Hope you got to sit out on your new chairs yesterday. Yes, I've been struggling to concentrate for what feels like the entire year, I'm definitely not top of my game at work, there's a lot of procrastinating been going on.

@bubblybon20 Aww that's kind of you to say - I don't really feel particularly positive but I am very much a 'what will be will be' person by nature - generally I live by it (whatever it may be) not being worth worrying about unless it happens otherwise you may have worried unnecessarily, which is easier said than done at the moment but must help me somewhat. Hope you're feeling a bit better today?

Currently nibbling on crackers, nausea is still around but I am NOT complaining after spending two days moaning because it had gone...

ew1990 · 29/07/2020 11:19

Hope everyone's doing ok? Having a panic coz my sore boobs have gone.

Keep telling myself that they can come and go. I actually hate this. I'm not normally an anxious person but this is exactly what happened last time. Just at 9 weeks instead of 7.

Next Thursday can't come quick enough

swishswashswoosh · 29/07/2020 11:24

Morning guys, so good news at my scan. I can't tell you how much my heart was pounding as I was sat there. Looking a little behind where I was but he said measurements early on can be hard but have another scan in two weeks which will give me a lot more peace of mind. I'm going to enjoy the relief today though. Shame about work!

@ew1990 my symptoms have really come and gone these last few weeks. I put it down to how much sleep but even then I can't quite see the pattern in it.

ew1990 · 29/07/2020 11:34

@swishswoshswoosh the time where you are waiting for them to say something seems to last hours doesn't it. So glad you got good news.

Ive just looked at my ovia app and yesterdAy it said the placenta is taking on more and more each day which could give your hormones a bit of a break.

I'll be moaning soon that my boobs are too sore for a bra 😂😂

Workingmama1 · 29/07/2020 12:21

Hi ladies!

Tentatively saying hello from the TTC thread after a MMC in April. Got a positive on a CB sensitive and frer this morning at 12dpo and AF due today.

Interestingly (cue sending me into worry overdrive!) negative on my femometer and one step ICs. Hoping it's as I'm only 12dpo despite AF being due.

Yay!!!!! @workingmama1 congratulations!!! I'm so so happy for you ❤️ welcome 😊 xxxxx

Done worry about differing results. You are still really early and One step are a bit crap is you ask me. I didn't get positives until way after my missed period the time I used them xxx

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 29/07/2020 12:37

@swishswashswoosh I'm so pleased scan went well 🥰 xxxxxx Did they give you a rough date?

I'm super vommy at the moment 🤢 I am on summer holidays and can't believe I went into school and taught stinky teenagers all day long at the this stage in my last two pregnancies. I am clearing out the flat to put on the market and I'm needed a rest between every cupboard 🤣

OP posts:
SkyBlue20 · 29/07/2020 13:56

@ew1990 Totally normal but definitely appreciate how hard it is to tell yourself that! Your scan will be here before you know it 💕

@swishswashswoosh Great news, glad all looked good! How many weeks are you dating at now?

@Workingmama1 So pleased to have you here 💕

@Smilingdonkey I keep thinking that about work, too - how did I do a commute and how was I out of the house for 10-12 hours a day?! At the moment I just want to nap constantly. I guess when you have to do it, you do! Exciting about putting the flat on the market!

Urgh, off in to Zoom call number four of the day... 😴

Ladypap · 29/07/2020 14:49

Hi ladies

I hope you don’t mind me positing here... I have no idea where to post but some help/guidance would be welcomed!

My story in a nutshell... accidentally got pregnant in May, after deliberation we decided to keep it, started bleeding on 26th June and sadly had a MMC as the sonographer confirmed on 29th June no heartbeat at 7.4 weeks. I went on to have medical management on 1st July. I saw the foetus pass on 4th July after excruciating pain (still scarred by it!) and spotted for a few days after.

I was asked to take a pregnancy test 3 weeks after medical management and should test negative unless any retained product is present. I did this and the test on 20th July which came up positive, and have done tests like a crazy lady everyday since. I confess I DTD once on 12th July (sorry TMI) but I can't be pregnant surely?

I have started feeling a little nauseous in the last 5 days and have serious fatigue, a little bit of rhinitis which I had in my first pregnancy and my boobs are getting bigger. I still haven't had a period but I have been cramping for the last 3-4 days, with more pain on my right ovary (quite sore sometimes).

I was referred to EPU yesterday for a scan and they said all was clear for retained product, they took my bloods and HCG is measuring 25 which is surely too low, plus my pregnancy test lines aren't getting darker (they did last Wednesday on FRER). I feel super confused and hate not knowing why I'm feeling like this all of a sudden... any help or experience would be very appreciated! Apologies again if I have posted in the wrong place

My tests last week are all frer below, the IC’s are giving faint lines even today...

swishswashswoosh · 29/07/2020 16:15

@SkyBlue20 @Smilingdonkey didn't get a date, just that it was measuring 6+3 and not the 7 I was hoping for. That said 7 is based on a 28day cycle which is certainly not me so this could be normal.

@Workingmama1 congratulation and welcome. My experience of ICs also suggests they are crap - first faintest line at 17dpo whereas the clear blue was clear as day.

@Ladypap I'm sorry about the confusion. It may be that you are pregnant but too soon to see on a scan, that level of HCG is low but also not low for very very early pregnancy. Not to be a true optimist it may also just be your body still getting back to normal, I took nearly 3 weeks to show a negative test after a surgical management yet they said it should show negative almost straight away. I guess time will tell? You would have had to ovulate almost immediately after your MMC which may suggest it is more likely that your body is getting back to normal? I'm sorry if that isn't what you are hoping to hear. I hope you get the result you want!

swishswashswoosh · 29/07/2020 16:22

@Mimba1 @SkyBlue20 I also asked the consultant about baby aspirin - he says he actually advises most of his patients to take it once a couple of weeks past implantation (cue him telling me to start taking it 😂) as it is shown to potentially reduce miscarriage risk if there is any sort of platelet or clotting issues within the uterus or placenta. And in later stages will help keep blood pressure down. He said they is no harm in taking it unless you have a stomach ulcer. He said the 75mg dose is the one to take. 👍🏻👍🏻

Sakura54 · 29/07/2020 16:50

@ew1990 You’re very lucky to get so many reassurance scans! For the last few days, my symptoms have died down too. I’m barely aching anymore, my belly doesn’t feel hard and is back to normal and I have more energy. Nausea and appetite is getting worse but pretty mild still. As long as I don’t start spotting again, I’m just going to go with the flow, but it’s always in the back of my mind though...wondering.

Yes! Congrats @Workingmama1 So pleased for you. You’re not too far behind us at all. I’m still following our other thread. Let us know what your DH says when you tell him. I’m sure he’ll be thrilled.

Good news about your scan. Do you have to take progesterone for the whole of the pregnancy? @swishswashswoosh

@Ladypap Ovulation can occur as early as 2 weeks after MC so it’s definitely possible to fall pregnant. That does sound like pregnancy symptoms but our bodies get messed up after MC, so it could also mean AF is coming. You don’t say whether you still want a baby this time, but either way it’s best to wait a week and test again.

ew1990 · 29/07/2020 16:56

@sakura yes I'm very lucky. I only had the first one coz I'd not had a period yet then the one last week to check progression then they just said they will book me one more.

I agree about ICs. Mine were barely there but frer were a good line.
I've been out for a carvery and could easily go to sleep 🙈 appetite is back which is a good thing

swishswashswoosh · 29/07/2020 17:11

@Sakura54 progesterone just until week 12 he said apparently then it really doesn't do anything at all. Again I think just preventative!

Going with the flow is the only thing we can all do, symptoms disappearing definitely doesn't inspire confidence but it also in all likelihood means nothing. The consultant did say that once the heartbeat is seen, the chance of miscarriage drops down to 4%. It's not nothing but it definitely helps if a strong one is seen. I know that loads of you on here had the heartbreak of seeing a heartbeat and then miscarrying. It is all so unfair.

Smilingdonkey · 29/07/2020 17:33

Hi @ladypap this happened to me. It was awful. I didn't get a negative test until 7 weeks after MMC and I had had a period and ovulated. It was crazy. My FRER were still positive when I had an HCG of 4. It's so crap but all you can do it wait it out. I began to test only on ICs and only every few days eventually and it helped calm me down. I'm so sorry you are going through this xxxx

Mimba1 · 29/07/2020 18:48

@swishswashswoosh I'm glad your scan was OK. I was thinking of you yesterday but didn't want to message just in case! I read loads of medical papers after my scan with my first MMC (measured 5+0 at 7+6 and was trying to find something to tell me it could be OK other than "you can't count days properly"). It sounds like you know this anyway but from what I read anything within a week is well within normal tolerance. So I'm glad you got good news! And thanks for the info on baby aspirin - sounds like I should wait a couple of weeks though. I can't wait to end the progesterone... 8 weeks to go.

@Workingmama1 sounds like we're on a similar journey. My last MC was at end of April and AF due yesterday. Welcome and congrats on your BFP!

@skyblue20 glad it's not just me perfecting my procrastination! I sat outside all afternoon even though reflection on my screen was straining my eyes... loving being outside though.

Starting to feel really nauseous but I worry that it's just the vitamins. I kept taking them after MC no1 (I was properly in denial and still pretending I was PG for weeks after) and was still feeling sick 6 weeks later when my Dr asked if I was taking any multi-vitamins. Sickness sorted itself out within 3 days when I stopped taking them! Still no other symptoms which is tough - I don't even have sore boobs even though I'm taking 800mg progesterone a day! So hard to trust your body after MMC...

Ladypap · 29/07/2020 19:49

@Smilingdonkey, @Sakura54 @swishswashswoosh thank you so much for your support and comments - I really appreciate it. I have found it really hard to find someone who has had a similar experience to speak to about this! I felt so isolated in the last 10 days and now I feel soo much better after your responses, thank you!

after the first miscarriage (and first pregnancy) I realised how much I wanted to start a family, so I would love this to be a pregnancy but I am also a realist and I don't want to get my hopes up as the dates do not add up for me and I am sure the 2nd bloody test will confirm my doubts....but I hope to join you lovely ladies on this thread one day!

I hope all your pregnancies go wonderfully and smoothly. Thank you again x

SkyBlue20 · 30/07/2020 07:42

Morning!

@Ladypap Sorry I can’t be of any help but glad the ladies have been able to give you some advice. Sending love and hope the rest of your journey goes smoothly xx

@swishswashswoosh Sounds like nothing to worry about, especially if you know your cycles aren’t the average. Annoying being moved back four days though! Thank you for that information from your consultant re: asprin. I’m 7+4 (and three weeks since my positive test) so should be alright taking it, yes? (I’m like 99.9% sure I am but just need that reassurance that my maths isn’t off!)

Had such a disrupted night of sleep, am exhausted this morning. I keep beating myself up about the fact I’ve done no exercise in the last couple of weeks but I’m so tired that every opportunity I have to do it, I just don’t have the energy 😔 I must get out for a walk at least today as haven’t left the house yet this week! Feeling very nauseous again this morning (see: lack of sleep) but husband is just downstairs prepping me some breakfast to have in bed, bless him 🥰 I hate feeling so useless but really must listen to my body I suppose - just got to get through these first 12 weeks!

Poppy10121 · 30/07/2020 07:46

Hi ladies
I am tentatively joining from the TTC after MMC thread 👋 I am 17DPO and got my positive test today 🤞

I know some of you from the other threads but for anyone else, I had a MMC in April at 10.5 weeks. I’m nervously happy and excited but also terrified that the same thing will happen! Last time I didn’t find out I was pregnant for several weeks so I wasn’t making responsible choices around drinking, caffeine etc. This time round I’m going to try and be a health warrior until the sickness starts!

Welcome, @Poppy10121, lovely to see you here! 💕

Workingmama1 · 30/07/2020 08:41

Hi @Ladypap, sorry to hear about your MMC, it really sucks. We have a lovely thread full of ladies TTC post MMC, great support from women who have been through it (and quite a few graduates on this thread!). Feel free to pop over there and join.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/3961076-Starting-TTC-again-after-missed-miscarriage-part-two

@mimba1 yes sounds like we are, my MMC was at the end of April too.

Did a digital today so have the answer in black and white, also dipped my one step strip and got a line so I guess a day can make all the difference!

@poppy10121 double yay to have you here!

bubblybon20 · 30/07/2020 08:41

Morning! Sorry I wasn't on yesterday; needed some time to stop myself falling in a heap! Hope you're all good,
Well I had my first midwife appointment booked for today 8+4, woken up to a message saying it's not been cancelled until next Thursday 🙄 was hoping after the appointment I would start feeling more "pregnant" haha.
Had the most awful dream last night that I was having a miscarriage and with all my doubts the past few days, really didn't help. Did google 🙈 and it says if you've experienced a previous miscarriage your almost on edge of it reoccurring, but doesn't have anything to it apart from my own anxieties, so hopefully that's true. And my bodies not turned into something that's actually warning me of it happening!

Still no symptoms, none at all! But who knows! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Welcome @Poppy10121, sorry about your MMC, but massive congratulations on your BFP. Wishing you all the best this time round. 💕

@SkyBlue20 I wouldn't kick yourself too much for the lack of exercise, your body in the first few months is doing so much. And you're bound to feel drained! I'm sure once you've got paid 12 weeks you'll be able to do what makes you feel better, and you'll hopefully feel better! 💕

bubblybon20 · 30/07/2020 08:42

Mimba1 · 30/07/2020 09:53

Can I just ask those of you who've had successful pregnancies before - is it normal to get mild cramping early on? I'm getting pain really low down, kind of like period pain. It happened in both of my previous PG but they didn't end well so I'm worried. Reputable sources on the internet seem to say this could be gas, but it feels too far forward, or the uterus expanding but it seems too early (I'm only 4+3). I'm terrified every time I go to the loo - is this normal and I'm worrying myself needlessly?
