Hi, starting this thread -very tentitively- as a graduation from the TTC after MMC group. A couple of us have begun to get BFPs and I would like a space to go though this with people who get why I'm so anxious - especially in the first trimester! Some of the other threads are so big and rather gung ho and I want to tread a bit gently right now!
I am only 4 weeks but have been getting progressively darker tests since 7-8dpo.
I'm becoming more certain this is not a chemical but I am being so cautious! Definitely too scared to work out a EDD yet!

@ew1990 I am very much just enjoying a lazy weekend, I've made no plans at all and it's lovely 😊

@ALew15 hangover really is the best way to describe it 😂

bubblybon20 · 26/07/2020 09:18

@DanceM1 hope your scan goes well today 💕

SkyBlue20 · 26/07/2020 09:56

Morning!

@DanceM1 Good luck with your scan today!

@ew1990 I’m using Ovia pregnancy and Pregnancy+ - still had them from last time as tried loads and didn’t want to forget which ones I liked!

@ALew15 That’s exactly how I described it to my husband, like waking up with a hangover every day (only with none of the fun of the night before!)

Seven weeks today and still minimal symptoms. They are still there ever so slightly though so trying my best not to worry. Read a theory on here that was just one person’s view so no idea how scientific it is, but it said that they think you have a hormone surge, feel rough, then your body gets used to that level of hormones and feels a bit better until the next rush. Like I say, may not be true, but I quite liked it so I’m believing it 😂

bubblybon20 · 26/07/2020 10:45

@SkyBlue20 I feel like I will follow that persons view on it too. Will make me feel slightly better for the next few days 🤣

bubblybon20 · 26/07/2020 10:54

Just took this screen shot on my pregnancy app for 8 weeks. It's quite reassuring they mention on there that boob soreness and aches differ from person to person, also explains the addition to my lovely spots on my chin 🤣🙈

@skyblue20 I like that view too.

On Friday I posted that my nausea had gone and I kind of wanted it back. I really regret that now. I'm stuck in the bathroom constantly vomiting 😣

Just starting to feel a little bit better

DanceM1 · 26/07/2020 16:48

Hi ladies, good news here. Thank god!!!! I cannot tell you how upset and anxious I have been this week. @SkyBlue20 I hope you find it reassuring that I have had very little in terms of symptoms but I saw a healthy heartbeat and a baby measuring 8weeks which is slightly ahead of where I expected!

Thank you so much for all your good luck💕

bubblybon20 · 26/07/2020 16:56

@DanceM1 so glad it went well!! How clear was it? As you didn't have an Internal did you? And even better your measuring a bit ahead! 😀😀

Millymay13 · 26/07/2020 17:03

@DanceM1 That’s fantastic news! Did you get a picture you feel happy to share?

@SkyBlue20 I have been wondering if that’s the case with me, also that the more tired I feel the more I feel the pregnancy symptoms. So on a Monday I’m feeling pretty good, but by Friday I’m feeling rotten. I spend the weekend resting and feeling rough, then I’m back to feeling better on Monday again!

My sense of smell is so incredible at the moment and seems to be getting more intense. To start with I could smell a few things strongly but they didn’t smell bad. Now so many things smell bad!

SmileyT · 26/07/2020 17:32

Congrats on a successful scan @DanceM1 🥰

@ew1990 hope the vomiting has subsided for you a bit this afternoon x

DanceM1 · 26/07/2020 18:53

Thank you so much ladies!! I'm so so happy! I know its still early days so I won't get too carried away but just going to enjoy it for a few days! And we are further than we got last time! We could see plenty clear enough even though it was abdominal!

@DanceM1 that's a lovely scan picture, so happy all is okay. X

SkyBlue20 · 26/07/2020 21:15

Congratulations @DanceM1, what a lovely scan - baby is so tiny and cute 🥰 Fab that you’re a few days ahead of where you thought, too!

@Millymay13 I seem to have a heightened sense of smell, too - and there’s a lot I smell that makes me just go ‘oh, no, that’s awful’ - not quite heaving but definitely not a pleasant reaction! 😷

Smilingdonkey · 26/07/2020 22:42

Ah @danceM1 what a lovely pic. Like a little jelly baby 🥰

How is everyone? I had less sickness this morning and panicked even though I know full well that it comes and goes 🙄

I am just so so tired and also dealing with my partner's sudden freak out that he is too old to raise two small children (bit late for that now and not at all helpful!) I know he's just having a crisis moment - he always does when any big change is on the horizon - and it'll be over in a week (I know him so well!) I just wish for once he'd do it privately as I don't need it right now!

Xx

Bloody cat woke us up at 3:30am and now I’m wide awake and can’t get back to sleep 😤 my sleep has been so funny anyway, has anyone else found that? Keep waking up at 6am and being wide awake but if I don’t get up quickly, I then drift back in to exhaustion and it’s hours until I can get up. Very annoying.

@Smilingdonkey Completely understand when you say you wish he’d do it privately - there’s only so much you can take on being pregnant and with a young one to look after anyway, I imagine! Hopefully his crisis of confidence will be over soon 🤞🏼

SmileyT · 27/07/2020 05:45

@DanceM1 such a lovely scan picture ☺️

@Smilingdonkey ooh how frustrating about DP but glad that you understand it well enough to not let it fully get to you and know that it will pass soon x

@SkyBlue20 ahh I'm really hoping you get back to sleep if you can. I've definitely found sleep is a big problem for me aswell but I have realised that the earlier I go to bed the better, if I go to bed late I still wake up at the same time and feel exhausted in the afternoon

SkyBlue20 · 27/07/2020 08:57

I got back to sleep at about 5:30am and then the cat woke me up again at 6:30 😫 I feel extremely rough today so think the worries about symptoms not being too bad can go away. There’s definitely something in feeling worse when you’ve not slept that well. At my laptop in my pyjamas now and hoping I can get a nap in at lunch 🤞🏼

Hope everyone else is feeling a bit better than I am! Do we have any scans coming up this week? Xx

Smilingdonkey · 27/07/2020 09:23

@skyblue20 - perhaps the cat is getting you ready for a newborn! My DD woke me at 2:30 to announce she had wet the bed 😫😫

@SkyBlue20 I'm 16 weeks and have a UTI so am shattered, and my nausea has returned! Being tired definitely makes it worse. I've got a private scan on Thursday with DH, as we weren't sure if he'd be allowed at the 20 week scan. They are now allowing partners as of last week, but we are still going to go to the private scan. I'm feeling really nervous at the moment as I'm in that 'limbo' stage of not feeling movements, but not having as many symptoms as in the first trimester.

bubblybon20 · 27/07/2020 11:18

@SkyBlue20 defo a lazy chilling day needed for you! 😀 I am hopefully booking my scan on Thursday for this Sunday 🤞🏻 there's still appointments available 🤣

Sakura54 · 27/07/2020 11:29

@ALew15 I haven’t vomited either. I walked into the kitchen the other day and immediately started retching though. Eating-wise, I’m still making an effort to eat properly but dinner/evening time is sometimes difficult as I feel sick and things taste odd, so I try to eat a lot for lunch to make up for it.

@SkyBlue20 So you think you’ll still book a scan? If you do, maybe for 9 weeks? Agreed that time is dragging. It’s only been a week and a half since my scan but felt like it was ages ago. Personally, it’s done nothing to reassure me because it was too early and I have no idea if things are still ok. In saying that, I want my symptoms to stop as it’s getting ridiculous feeling unwell like this.

Yes my sleep has been disturbed. I keep waking up every night and sometimes stay awake for a bit. I get up at 7am usually, which is too early for my liking!

I use Flo for tracking my cycle so changed it to pregnancy mode @ew1990

SkyBlue20 · 27/07/2020 12:09

@Smilingdonkey Urgh, that's worse than my terror of a cat - at least with her we just had to let her out/feed her/let her back in (whichever one it was she demanding at the time). Hope you managed some sleep.

@Flatwhite32 I can imagine that limbo time is awful - sure everything is A-ok though and fab news that your partner can go to the scan now!

@bubblybon20 That's exciting! How many weeks will you be on Sun?

@Sakura54 Our original plan was to wait until 10 weeks for a scan (if we felt the urge for one) as that's after the point last time when baby stopped developing, so we may still do that but won't for this weekend - I'm just not feeling like I have to yet. Will depend on whether partners can come to the 12 week scans, too - I definitely want to book a private one if he can't come to the NHS one so we can be together. My hospital seems to be SO strict that I can't see them changing the rules any time soon tbh. Do you think you'll have another early one or wait until the 12 weeks now?

bubblybon20 · 27/07/2020 12:24

@SkyBlue20 hopefully around 9 weeks! Just so so nervous about booking it 😫 it's like if I have one and somethings wrong I don't think I could mentally accept it. Which is probably so weird.. like I would rather not know but also want to know 🤦🏻‍♀️ my mind feels so fuzzed already 😓

SkyBlue20 · 27/07/2020 14:27

@bubblybon20 I 100% get that and feel exactly the same - I think I'm still burying my head in the sand a little bit so the thought of a scan where it could all go wrong again, or where we could get good news but there's still a few weeks until that magical 12 week mark just makes me push the whole scan thing to the back of my mind. You can do it though, you can! As much as we don't want to know, it must be better to know either way. I'll think about it in a few weeks' time as we wouldn't want one until about 10 weeks anyway (I'm 7+1 today). In the meantime, I'm still waiting for the hospital to call me to schedule my booking in appt - it's been a week now.

bubblybon20 · 27/07/2020 14:50

@SkyBlue20 crazy how one previous experience can change you so much! 🙈 I'm waiting for a midwife to call me to go through loads of details before my appointment Thursday, I just want that first appointment to feel a bit excited. Then il hopefully feel better in booking one! Just got to make it until then, the fear of it all happening again at the same stage as last time is so scary!
Hopefully the next few weeks go fast for us. But I just feel at the moment they're not 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ x
