Pregnant after Missed Miscarriage MMC

Hi, starting this thread -very tentitively- as a graduation from the TTC after MMC group. A couple of us have begun to get BFPs and I would like a space to go though this with people who get why I'm so anxious - especially in the first trimester! Some of the other threads are so big and rather gung ho and I want to tread a bit gently right now!
I am only 4 weeks but have been getting progressively darker tests since 7-8dpo.
I'm becoming more certain this is not a chemical but I am being so cautious! Definitely too scared to work out a EDD yet!

@ew1990 oh yeah I do remember you said you worked at a hospital... can totally see that it can be an intense job and especially lifting heavy things. Hope the note gets sorted tomorrow so you don't have to worry about it xx

swishswashswoosh · 21/07/2020 21:40

Hi @Baileys123 please don't worry about lack of symptoms, although I know first hand how hard that is. 5 pregnancies in and I can genuinely say they have all been different. From one successful with horrendous sickness, one successful with zero symptoms to one mmc with no symptoms and one mmc with alllll the symptoms from 5weeks on until I woke up after the ERPC (that one felt particularly unfair). Either my body is a total anomaly - possible 😂 - or when people say all pregnancies are different they aren't lying, it's just sooooo hard to believe in reality. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

swishswashswoosh · 21/07/2020 21:55

Hope you feel better soon @ew1990, I'm sure given you work in healthcare you might have an understanding manager?! Although I imagine it might be the opposite.....😱

ew1990 · 21/07/2020 22:08

Swish yes she's very understanding, but I don't really want to tell colleagues. I told them all last time then had to explain after. One id not seen for a while asked me how my pregnancy was going. She didnt know about the MMC. That was awkward!

But I think Im just gunna have to bite the bullet and tell the ones I work with most. Just so they don't think I'm skiving all the time 🙈

Baileys123 · 21/07/2020 22:27

Thanks for the reassurance. I've a reassurance scan for Friday so just need to get that far Smile

bubblybon20 · 22/07/2020 08:21

Hope your scan goes well today @Smilingdonkey xx

Smilingdonkey · 22/07/2020 09:11

Thank you - I'm dreading it 😫

@DanceM1 I think they can’t ever see anything at 7 weeks because I have a tilted uterus. Maybe more tilted than Sky's lol. As you had to have an internal last time, I say give them a call for your peace of mind or maybe book it for when you’re further on?

Apart from that one day where I retched, the nausea has been surprisingly mild which I’m happy about. Trust me, you wouldn’t want to suffer from MS @bubblybon20 pretty lucky that you didn't get it in any of your pregnancies!

@SkyBlue20 Go easy on yourself, remember your body is working so hard on the inside creating a human and as you said you can think about your diet when the nausea gets better. For me, pregnancy and even having a baby is all about just trying to survive! My exhaustion is full on, I literally feel tired all day and coupled with the constant aching, all I can do is sit/lie down all day! I even nap sometimes and still feel tired after. I must have been kidding myself when I said I’d try harder to be active this pregnancy. Woke up in the middle of the night in pain from needing to pee, but was too tired and the loo is 2 floors down so ignored it. If I was at home, I would have got up as the toilet is just next door to my room lol.

Ok cool. I think I’m one of the first to have the 12 week scan (less than 4 weeks) so I’ll start the due date list after. I think my due date has been changed to 6th March.

SkyBlue20 · 22/07/2020 09:57

Morning all!

@bubblybon20 @DanceM1 How're you feeling today? A bit better I hope 🤞🏼

@Smilingdonkey You feeling any better today? Good luck with your scan!

@Sakura54 You're right - these first 12 weeks especially are definitely just about surviving. That said, I did manage to drag myself out of bed this morning and do 20mins of prenatal yoga, it was really gentle so wasn't too bad. At the end though, during the relaxation, she was talking about envisaging your baby and the future etc and I just could not make myself do it, my mind kept going back to the MMC instead. Might skip that bit next time!

Despite my yoga, I am feeling AWFUL today, so nauseous. I'm pretty sure this pregnancy is worse than my last one, which is obviously a good sign but god I feel terrible. Got such a busy day at work, too, so am sitting here, supping a cup of tea and nibbling on rice cakes and attempting to do what I need to do (after this, of course). Hope everyone else is feeling a bit better than I am!

ew1990 · 22/07/2020 10:06

@sakura wow less then 4 weeks. Hopefully That will fly by!

@skyblue20 sorry your feeling so rubbish. Its awful isn't it. My sickness doesn't start till I've been up a few hours.

So I got all confused with doc appointments. My blood test one is next week. And today I've got a telephone call from the doctor at 11 about a sick note. They just send text to confirm the time and date so if I wouldn't have rang up I would've turned up there today for a blood test 🙈🙈

ALew15 · 22/07/2020 11:09

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been MIA for about a week. Needed some time away. I've finally caught up.

My lack of symptoms has done a full spin and I'm back to feeling my nauseous, tired and weepy pregnant self! Had a cry to DH this morning, I'm so worried it's going to be another MMC. I'm 5+6 today and have a private scan booked for 7+4. I'm dreading it but like a few of you said I would rather know something has gone wrong now than at 12weeks again.

I think being at work all day on my own is really taking its toll on me. I'm lonely and incredibly uncomfortable.

swishswashswoosh · 22/07/2020 12:13

@ALew15 sorry you're having a tough day. It's ok to cry, I've done it a fair amount recently, my DH thinks I'm nuts. Hope you're feeling better soon.

@Smilingdonkey have you had your scan get? Hope it went/goes ok. If you haven't I hope you have something to distract you to pass the time before it happens!

bubblybon20 · 22/07/2020 13:05

@SkyBlue20 Thankyou! I am feeling a bit more positive today 💕

DanceM1 · 22/07/2020 14:29

@bubblybon20 @smileyT I think you're both right.. we probably shouldn't wish more symptoms on ourselves but it would be nice. Funnily enough today I feel absolutely exhausted and a bit sick.. I'm now worrying its a bad sign 🙈🤣 I can't cope with myself!!! Never happy!🙈

@Sakura54 thank you. I'm going to take your advice and call them tomorrow. I tried today but they're closed. Think you're right..i will feel better if I just ask them about it.

@SkyBlue20 I'm feeling a little more positive today, thank you. Sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish. Horrible when you have to focus on work as well!

@ALew15 I completely understand why you're feeling that way being on your own. I'm off work now and my husband has just gone back in so I'm really struggling with being on my own too..think thats why I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday. Trying to keep myself busy but honestly have no energy to do anything!

SkyBlue20 · 22/07/2020 15:51

@ew1990 Good job you got the text! How was the call, did you get your sick note? 🤞🏼

@ALew15 Welcome back! Sorry you're feeling low. It's such a tough time, it's completely normal though I know that doesn't make it any easier. I can imagine being at work alone isn't helpful at all, either. Like I said to someone yesterday, try and have a nice cosy evening with a film you don't even have to think about and get an early night - tomorrow is a whole new day. Big hugs xx

@bubblybon20 @DanceM1 Glad today is a bit brighter ☺️

@Smilingdonkey Thinking of you, hope the scan was ok 💕

Nausea left after lunch (though will likely be back when I'm hungry again) but now I am EXHAUSTED, like could go to bed for the night type tiredness. Must get through at least another hour or so of work and then I might have a nap. Today has been LONG 😴

DanceM1 · 22/07/2020 16:11

@skyBlue20 I felt exactly the same today. Had to force myself out for a walk and after just getting dressed ready to go I felt like I needed to lie down 🤣 must admit I feel 100 times better after getting out but it was difficult to make myself do it!

Smilingdonkey · 22/07/2020 16:40

Thanks for the good thought all! Scan was good. Saw a tiny bean with a heartbeat measuring 7+1 exactly as I predicted 😊 Feel reassured for the moment ! Xxx

SmileyT · 22/07/2020 16:46

@DanceM1 I was actually sick last night and up half the night feeling like I was going to be sick again so felt crappy all day and I know it doesn't prove everything will be okay so not sure why i want it 😂

@ALew15 being really weepy is a sign of loads of hormones surging around so that has to be a good thing, hope you feel better soon x

@Smilingdonkey hope the scan went well x

SmileyT · 22/07/2020 16:46

@Smilingdonkey ooh posted at the same time but so glad it went well ☺️

bubblybon20 · 22/07/2020 16:53

@Smilingdonkey so glad the scan went okay :)

ew1990 · 22/07/2020 17:03

@skyblue20 they didn't call me in the end. The doctor just emailed a sick note for 2 weeks.

@smilingdonkey fab! I'm excited for mine tomorrow but so nervous

DanceM1 · 22/07/2020 18:22

@Smilingdonkey brilliant news!! Yey!! Hope yours goes well tomorrow @ew1990 x

Smilingdonkey · 22/07/2020 18:50

Here is what you can see at 7+1 with transvaginal scan. They could see the heartbeat from abdominal too but it was harder to measure. Much clearer images with the internal. It doesn't hurt at all if that's what worries people ? And it poses no additional risk to the pregnancy as it doesn't go any further up than a penis would 🤣! Xx

Ah @smilingdonkey that's so lovely! The internal scan doesn't worry me as had a few with MMC. I was more worried that where I'm going this weekend for my scan, I don't think they do internal ones at all so was a little worried we may not be able to see anything! But I guess they wouldn't offer them from 7 weeks if they couldn't see 🤷‍♀️

bubblybon20 · 22/07/2020 20:32

@Smilingdonkey omg that's such a lovely clear picture! It's not that I'm worried about the pain or anything. Just think I would prefer a normal tummy scan!, but do understand il have to wait until 9-10 weeks to get a clear one that way!x
