Hi, starting this thread -very tentitively- as a graduation from the TTC after MMC group. A couple of us have begun to get BFPs and I would like a space to go though this with people who get why I'm so anxious - especially in the first trimester! Some of the other threads are so big and rather gung ho and I want to tread a bit gently right now!
I am only 4 weeks but have been getting progressively darker tests since 7-8dpo.
I'm becoming more certain this is not a chemical but I am being so cautious! Definitely too scared to work out a EDD yet!

Hi Ladies,

I've not told the doctor yet. It just seems super early to tell them as I'm only 4 weeks?

I took yet another frer this morning and the line still seems to be progressing nicely which is easing my anxiety.

I've really no idea when I should phone the doctor. Do I do it now or should I wait a week or two?

@SkyBlue20 @Noble89 when I was pregnant in April. They booked my appointment for 8 weeks. I'm only 6+3. Although this was about the time I rang up last time I think! I think they tend to try get you in between 8-10 to do the blood tests ect.
@SkyBlue20 yeah I remember them well, I had hot flushes with my youngest, remember passing out from it lol 🤦🏻‍♀️🙈
Going to have to keep a fan next to me all the time 🤣🤣

SkyBlue20 · 15/07/2020 11:16

Great line progression, @Noble89! Call whenever you are ready - they'll book you in for when they usually do their first appointments. In my trust I have a MW appt at about 7/8 weeks, then the booking appt at about 10 weeks then the scan at 12 weeks, but I know most places don't do the first MW appt, just go straight in for the booking one. Last time, I called two days after finding out I was pregnant (so about 5 weeks) but this time I'm just holding off a bit for no real reason other than nerves I think!

Hello all,

9+1 today for me and had my midwife booking appointment via phone this morning.

Slowly starting to feel a bit more confident but still very anxious about dating scan. Hopefully I'll get a date in the post soon so I know when I'm aiming for.

Hope you're all doing okay!

ALew15 · 15/07/2020 16:53

Still have another 2 weeks until I can phone to GP to arrange an appointment with the midwife. I'm 4+6 today. Having absolutely zero symptoms now, weirdly want my heartburn or something to come back 😂

I keep going back and fore in my mind about telling people (close family&friends) we agreed we would wait until the early scan but it seems so far away still (not even booked yet)

bubblybon20 · 15/07/2020 17:49

Does anyone know if you can have normal scans during an early scan? Or are they all have to be internal? Apologises if that's such a stupid question lol 😅

ew1990 · 15/07/2020 17:57

@bubblybon with DD I had Internal at 6 weeks then abdominal at 9 weeks so sometime inbetween that they can are with just a normal one. And Internal one I found fine. Not as bad as a smear.

I haven't rang anyone yet. I'm going to wait until after my scan next week.

The sickness has started. Ive felt quesy all day and had a really watery mouth. Eating stops it for a while but I have no appetite at all. I'm having to force myself to eat something

bubblybon20 · 15/07/2020 18:02

@ew1990 was the 9 week one still clear? Obviously I've had 2 other children so my mid drift isn't as slim anymore 🤣🤣

ew1990 · 15/07/2020 18:19

@bubblybon I have a picture of it I think I can post? It's a but blurry coz of my camera? But will give you an idea? If people don't mind

ew1990 · 15/07/2020 18:21

But yeah it was clear. There was a little baby looking shape waving about some arms and legs

SkyBlue20 · 15/07/2020 19:08

@ALew15 We felt weird about telling people but decided that we would turn to them were the worst to happen so would just tell them and I’m now glad we did. You do whatever feels right for you 💕

@bubblybon20 I had a scan at seven weeks last time that they managed externally despite my retroverted uterus and baby only measuring six weeks. Think I was lucky though as all of the ones through my MC were then internal. The pic was just a couple of little circles really but was clear. She had to press very hard and it was not fun on my full bladder but was ok! Agreed that the internal ones were fine (and I have mild vaginismus so things like that are not pleasant for me).

Just been for a run and have officially given up on Couch to 5k 😫 Obviously it’s for a good reason but so frustrating as I was doing so well! Everything I’ve read says don’t overheat and maintain a level where you can hold a conversation while running during pregnancy and being honest, that means I can probably run for two or three mins max before having to walk for a bit, so there’s no way I can do the 20/25min runs - I’m probably being a bit overly cautious but it’s not worth risking it. I also get out of breath just going up the stairs at the moment, pregnancy makes me so breathless!

bubblybon20 · 15/07/2020 19:16

@ew1990 yes please, as longs everyone else doesn't mind! Obviously I'm going to try get one for 9 weeks incase I'm a bit behind ect!

@SkyBlue20 ah that's good then, hopefully they'll be clear for me around then!
In regards to your runny, I think it's probably best if that's what you want to do. As you've mentioned hot flashes also, may be difficult to keep your temp right. I can't run for the life of me though 🤣🤣x

bubblybon20 · 15/07/2020 19:24

@ew1990 also I've had a really watery mouth too, almost as though I could be sick any minute! But luckily I haven't been. But has made me a bit iffy on food! Like I just don't feel I could eat 🤦🏻‍♀️x

ew1990 · 15/07/2020 19:40

And I've had to tell a few people at work as it's quite heavy my job and I'd rather try and minimise any risk. My other half said today telling people wont make something go wrong. It will take away one of the worries that could make something go wrong. Which kind of makes sense.

I'll post the picture but if anyone minds please tell me and I'll take it down.

I had to crop to take my name out so that's made it blurry but you can make it out.

@ew1990 that's understandable if your job is quite full on. And yes that's very true! Oh wow! That's so clear! Defo going to try go for around week 8-9 then! 😃😃 thanks so much for that! Xx

@bubblybon20 The place I went for an early scan do all abdominal from 6weeks, last time I had transvaginal at 6 from nhs and abdominal at 7 at a private scan place - no trouble with it at all, got loads of pics and a video was nice to see the HB a couple times before the MC 🥰 I think the NHS tend to go with internal when early from what I've experienced x

@SkyBlue20 I've been thinking a lot about the exercise thing, with gyms opening up next weekend, I don't know if I should go back. I used to work out 6/7 days a week but worried that contributed to MC although they say you can keep up existing regime and people in my gym worked out up until 8months 🤷🏾‍♀️ is anyone else a gym bunny and considering returning?

Hope everyone is doing good x

bubblybon20 · 15/07/2020 20:22

@SmileyT thanks for you comment! Reassured me that I will get a good picture, I was worried that window to the womb only did internal, but have messaged and they've confirmed they do normal scans from 8 weeks! 😀 x

ew1990 · 15/07/2020 20:48

@bubblybon20 your welcome. They did try the other day abdominal but I was only 5 weeks and they couldn't see anything apart from the cysts on my ovaries.

Hope everyone else is ok. I had a nap for about 3 hours today and I'm so ready for bed 😴😴

SkyBlue20 · 16/07/2020 05:28

Anybody else wake up super early in pregnancy? All through my last pregnancy it was 6:30am but today it was 4:30am and I am wide awake. This better not be a regular occurrence 🙈

I’m not going back to the gym simply because it’s in the city centre and as I’m wfh still, I just won’t be going in to town to workout. However, I’m maintaining my wfh exercise regime which is generally two runs a week and two lots of my physio for my knees and some arm workouts. I will try and fit in a prenatal yoga too but I’m useless at sticking to an exercise schedule so we’ll see 🙈

SmileyT · 16/07/2020 05:44

@SkyBlue20 yep the waking up early is a nightmare, wasn't so bad last time as I used to leave the house at 5/5.30 but now there is nothing to do when I wake up early 😂 and thanks for your comments about working out, I might just introduce stuff slowly and see how it feels, I get the underground into work anyway so the gym is on the way so I'll see how I get on x

SkyBlue20 · 16/07/2020 06:10

@SmileyT Agreed - 6:30 was fine when I was going in to work but 4:30 when I’m WFH?! I just managed to doze off again but then had a really vivid dream with really loud thunder in it and that woke me up again 🤦🏻‍♀️
Yeah, I think just seeing how you feel when it comes to exercise is best - all of the advice says you’re fine to continue what you’re used to, I think there are just specific moves you shouldn’t do (mainly twisting your torso). I stopped almost completely last time as was so nervous but I think continuing is way better for both my mental and physical health.

SmileyT · 16/07/2020 06:57

@SkyBlue20 yeah I have to leave for work about 7.45 now but I find myself waking up early then being knackered and wanting to go back to sleep at about 7 😂 after my MC in March at the start of lockdown I just stopped working out as gyms were closed and couldn't be bothered but want to start up something light at least to try and be as healthy as possible... last time I was still going to the gym at 6am and doing really intense workouts throughout and think that may have been tough on my body so need to find a middle ground ☺️

Noble89 · 16/07/2020 07:09

Morning ladies,

I'm with you on the early wake up. I'm WFH and don't need to get up until 7:45 but waking up consistently between 6 and 6:30. I'm also finding I'm waking up through the night and it takes me ages to get back to sleep because I feel sick 😷
