Hi, starting this thread -very tentitively- as a graduation from the TTC after MMC group. A couple of us have begun to get BFPs and I would like a space to go though this with people who get why I'm so anxious - especially in the first trimester! Some of the other threads are so big and rather gung ho and I want to tread a bit gently right now!
I am only 4 weeks but have been getting progressively darker tests since 7-8dpo.
I'm becoming more certain this is not a chemical but I am being so cautious! Definitely too scared to work out a EDD yet!

@bubblybon20 yes im really struggling too! Literally nothing at all I fancy to eat yet im ravenous at the same time. It's so strange. I've had small bowl of frosties and a packet of prawn cocktail crisps. Even squash is turning my stomach. How far along are you again? Im 8+1 and its been getting progressively worse from 6 weeks on!
Don't get me started on the extremely embarrassing and constant burping! 🙈🤣 x

bubblybon20 · 10/07/2020 22:15

@MrsTtobe it's strange isn't it!! I can't seem to stand cups of tea at the moment, I've always been a massive tea lover could easier drink 20+ cups a day. Obviously changed to decaf once I found out at 3 week. But now I can't even stand the smell 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm 5+5, was hoping it wouldn't stick around as I've always loved food haha, but just can't seem to force myself to eat anything at the minute 🤦🏻‍♀️ x

ALew15 · 11/07/2020 07:17

@bubblybon20 I'm ok at the moment, although it is still very early days for me. I wake up early absolutely starving so I have to go make myself a slice of toast!

I just tried to use my CB weeks indicator test and a little book came up on it meaning error. I'm so annoyed. I think I held it in my wee for too long. I wanted to compare this weeks to next weeks. I hate wasting money 😫

Smilingdonkey · 11/07/2020 09:20

Oh no how annoying! I would phone CB and tell them. I don't think holding in wee should do that! My friend did when hers didn't work and they sent her a new pack ...

@ew1990 it's deffo a work perk, lucky you. They don't normally check HCG or scan unless there's a concern. I may be getting extra scans due to my pregnancy issues. I have an appt on Monday to get my bloods and health checks done, so will see. Either way, my 12 week scan is in less than 6 weeks, oh boy!

Yes @bubblybon20 this started at dinner time yesterday. I was hungry but couldn’t eat as felt a bit nauseous. I took 4 bites then had a nutrition shake to make up for it. Usually when pregnant, it’s ok to not eat much, but my BMI has recently gotten way too low randomly, so I can’t be skipping meals! Still feel nauseous now but managed to wolf down a full English for breakfast with a big mug of tea!

MrsTtobe · 11/07/2020 09:59

@bubblybon20 yep I used to love tea and coffee but im forcing down a morning cuppa at the minute. The worse part is the hunger that goes along with the nausea. Ive got raging hunger pains but just nothing at all I fancy. My OH is the best cook and really makes the effort to cook nice fancy meals bless him and all I want is a bag of prawn cocktail crisps. 🤣 I feel so bad.
Im 8+2 and with my other pregnancies it has completely gone by about 16 weeks but gets much better after about week 12 so not too much longer to go.
Send any tips this way if you find anything that works. People say ginger but the thought alone is making me want to throw up. 🤣

@Sakura54 good on you! Im so jealous of your fry up. Used to be my favourite Saturday treat. 😭 x

bubblybon20 · 11/07/2020 10:12

@Sakura54 I am also Just having smoothies daily, seems the only thing that doesn't make me feel awful after 🤣 ooo a full English does sound nice! 🤪🤪

@MrsTtobe it really is, plus I keep getting waves of heartburn, or it at least feels like that.. really hope it doesn't stick around, as would like to eat more than just toast lol 🤦🏻‍♀️ fingers crossed you'll feel better once you've got to 12 weeks! 🤞🏻 x

DanceM1 · 11/07/2020 10:48

@bubblybon20 I went off tea when I was pregnant last time. Used to love it as well like you but since then I've not really got back on it... I have 1 cup in the morning and thats it! Wish I would be put off food though!!!

ew1990 · 11/07/2020 15:09

I'm also a tea lover with 15 cups a day. Had to really cut down.

And I'm with you all on the starving hunger but not fancying anything.

@skyblue20 6 weeks doesn't sound that far away! Soon be here

ew1990 · 11/07/2020 15:09

Oh I meant @sakura sorry 🙈🙈

Smilingdonkey · 12/07/2020 08:39

I went right off tea with my DD. I didn't fancy it this morning either but forced myself and enjoyed it once I did! With my MMC I used to drink those ice tea infusions with ice and lemon instead and it really helped ... Xxx

I just had a moment of eeeeek excitement! The first I have had! God I hope this one makes it!

bubblybon20 · 12/07/2020 09:24

@Smilingdonkey they're lovely moments to have, especially as it's normally anxious moments! 😍😍😍

bubblybon20 · 12/07/2020 09:34

Has anyone got any scans coming up soon? 🤩 still unsure if I am going to book one yet!

DanceM1 · 12/07/2020 10:06

@bubblybon20 I can't decide what to do about a scan. After last time I said I would book an early scan but now every time I look on line it just makes me feel sick and brings back that moment. I can't seem to do it and I also think what good will it do to find out sooner? But then I think it might stop me getting my hopes up as much or..
Thinking positively.. Will let me be excited! I don't know what to do!

bubblybon20 · 12/07/2020 10:15

@DanceM1 it's difficult isn't it 🙈 I would book one, for like 8 weeks, but I just have a fear something will happen before then 😨 I don't know what to do either, I only asked on here because if I start seeing someone lovely early scans it might egg me to book one soon! 🤣

DanceM1 · 12/07/2020 10:20

@bubblybon20 yes there is also that fear... I think I will most likely (if I get that far) end up booking last minute around 8 weeks. You're right..maybe some nice early scan pics will encourage us! I've had a couple of very mild pains this morning so I'm worrying again! My husband has reminded me though that I didn't get any of this with the MMC so I'm trying my best to be calm!

Smilingdonkey · 12/07/2020 10:31

@bubblebon20 and @DanceM1 I had booked one for 7 weeks (I did that with DD and not with MMC so it feels lucky - so so silly I know 🙈) but now I have an NHS one at 7 weeks I have changed the appointment for 10 weeks instead. It was £49 on offer with Window to the Womb (they have clinics all over I think) and I you pay £30 now and £19 on the day - so if I have to cancel it's only £30 which I guess won't seem important in the grant scheme of things ...
I'm finding it s giving me something to work towards which helps me manage the anxiety xx

Smilingdonkey · 12/07/2020 10:32

I know each scan will only reassure me for a couple of days but at least I then have the next one booked to focus on 😫

Sakura54 · 12/07/2020 10:57

I’ve said this 10 times before in other threads lol but if I had had an early scan last time, it would have saved me a lot of pointless suffering from bad symptoms and also would have saved time as the baby died 6 weeks before I found out! However, for me I still think it's pointless to have an early scan because if baby is alive, that will give me hope and I might let my guard down which would be bad if another MMC or even MC were to happen. If the MW wants me to have a scan, obviously I'm not going to say no though lol. Either way the moment of truth will be at the 12 week scan!

In saying that it would be lovely to hear of your scans, as we do need some positivity to keep us going!

@DanceM1 I think you was in the Nov Babies thread. Do you recognise me? Lol. A bunch of us joined MMC threads after leaving that thread.

Symptom-wise, I think I need to go easy on the spicy food. It’s making my pregnancy heartburn a bit worse. Although I’ll be going to stay with my family for a bit and my mum cooks very spicy food on a regular basis which I live for lol but oh boy.

Millymay13 · 12/07/2020 11:06

@Smilingdonkey I’m so glad you had that moment of excitement, I had one yesterday when I got the 3+ result on the clearblue digital 😊.
@bubblybon20 @DanceM1 I’m not sure what scan/s I might get via the EPU but I definitely want to know what’s going on in there before the 12 week scan so if they don’t scan me or only do an early one next week then I’ll definitely be booking one! I can’t wait for people to be starting to share happy scans on here too!

DanceM1 · 12/07/2020 11:33

@Sakura54 yes I remember you from the November thread! I know exactly what you mean...same here..baby had died 5 weeks earlier and I didn't know (although I kinda did somehow in my gut) but the way it worked last time for me was that I found out at the private scan then before I got to my EPU scan i had started bleeding so they just kept me in and did the MVA which was over really quickly. I'm scared if I find out too early that I'll have a long time to wait and worry at home about how painful it will all be (don't think my EPU will now let us have the MVA but not sure) but I know that's daft really because if I started to bleed at home without warning that would be equally traumatic. I need to just stop overthinking things and take it one step at a time!

@Smilingdonkey that sounds good! I had my scan at Window to the Womb last time and they were very good with me as obviously it was bad news. I can't bring myself to go back to the same clinic but there is another one the same distance from us so we may go there. I'm thinking I might just go for it around 8 weeks!

bubblybon20 · 12/07/2020 13:49

@DanceM1 yeah I agree! Some cute little pics would be reassuring! But I guess we're all in that same boat of feeling extra worried about early scans! Hope you're pains ease though out the day 💕

@Smilingdonkey funny you mention that, I never booked any early scans with my 2 boys. But with my MC I enquired at the scan place exactly a month before I lost my lady pregnancy, so unsure if that's my sign! But after suffering the MC it messes With your anxieties, so now I feel I need to have one 🤷🏻‍♀️ but you're right, I may book one for 8-9 weeks as it'll be something to look forwards too, and then if all ok it's only 3-4 more weeks of waiting for a hospital one 🤞🏻

@Sakura54 I understand your point, obviously I didn't suffer a MMC so can't relate in that sense; but can understand your point of not knowing for those 6 weeks, sorry you went through that 😨 I think that's what's putting me off having one, because I could go for the early scan but anything can still happen, and it would probably hurt 10x more knowing I've seen baby wiggling say a week before! I guess in situations like this it's a really difficult one with the pros and cons! although 12 weeks is a long wait, during this lockdown they seem to blend into one 🤣

@Millymay13 me either! Will make it so real for us all seeing people scans at the same sort of stage as us! 🥰

MrsTtobe · 12/07/2020 14:09

Morning ladies,
Im the same as you @bubblybon20 with my 2 children I didn't have early scans yet for some reason with my mc I had a private scan at 8 weeks exactly. Everything was lovely and perfect and we heard the heartbeat. I then stupidly read somewhere that if you hear the heartbeat at 8 weeks then the chance of mc is greatly reduced. We told everyone, family, friends, work colleagues. So when I started bleeding at 10+5 i was so shocked, thought it couldn't possibly be mc because the baby was alive and well. Then miscarriage was 3 days later.
Now im 8 +3 today and I know somewhere between 8 weeks and 10 +5 my baby died so these next 3 weeks are going to be tough.
We have decided against an early scan for that reason but if all is well at 12 wk scan 🙏 then will probably have a private one at about 16. X

bubblybon20 · 12/07/2020 14:16

@MrsTtobe oh that's so awful, I can understand why you'd want to avoid them this time! Although I've seen the chances of a reoccurring MC are slim, I think that's the only thing keeping me positive at the moment. But then I have the doubt in my head that I could fall into that low percentage! I hope the next 2 weeks fly by for you 💕🤞🏻
