@CherryCreme a few of us have babies due on that date, me included. I think @Oldestchild90s to. Yes to pregnancy flown by I really don't know where it's gone since March.

We did it!!!! I'm officially one day more pregnant that with my son. I've made it to 33+3 and I'm preeclampsia free so far.
So happy today that it doesn't matter I hardly slept and my back is killing me because everyday counts.
This baby is also a lot bigger than my son was, this baby was 3lb 7oz at 29 weeks and my son was 2lb 14oz at 33+2 so all is good so far

Superscientist · 30/06/2020 08:27

I'm glad you have passed that milestone it must be a relief @mammyofasuperbaby. My dad was a little 2lb premmie born somewhere around 28-30 weeks, I definely felt a bit calmer after passed that date and weight!

I don't think I will be going to anywhere near a shop for a long time yet, they used to give me panic attacks and make me anxious prior to covid!

We have decided against getting a monitor at least at first. We only have a small house and we won't be putting her down to sleep in a room we aren't in until she is 6 months anyway

I think she has had a growth spurt over the last couple of days it definitely feels like she has less room in there! I have another week until my bump is measured again, it can't come fast enough! We are measuring around the 10th percentile and I'm desperate to see she's still on track. I've been pretty chill all the way through not fretting about scans and what not but the fundal measurements have set me off even though I know they are a poor measure!

Hey ladies, it's been great to follow this thread and to see how other mums to be are dealing with everything. Sometimes it's hard to just take a breath and realise we're all doing an amazing job in such strange circumstances Smile.
I'm due 6th August, not sure what we're having so looking forward to a surprise Smile. Need some advice from others if that's ok. I had a loss at 23 weeks gestation last January and have been having nightmares about delivering a baby with no heartbeat again. I have a meeting with consultant week today and have to decide if I want an elective c section. I'm currently making a list of pros and cons but I just wanted to know if anyone had any experience on c section and could offer me some advice please. Friends around me who have recently given birth have ended up with emergency sections which I'm not sure my anxiety could cope with... Hmm not long now, very excited but nervous about it all xx

Fig20 · 30/06/2020 08:56

@sel2223 Ah right, that must be what my area is doing. Hopefully the next few will be closer together as I do worry they might miss something with such long gaps. I haven’t had any minoring for growth though it seems to be notoriously inaccurate anyway.

@squashie34 yeah I think it has. I’ve heard great things about the UHCW maternity. I live on the border between Leicester Royal, George Elliot and UHCW so chose there 💕

cannotmakemymindup · 30/06/2020 09:00

@Rachyrach1930 There is a couple others on here who are having planned sections to.

I'm just going to share my C-section experience that I shared on thread 2 hope that's okay.

"So with my emergency C-section it wasn't an 'emergency' in the truest sense, of life in danger to either me or baby. I think that's a possibility to remember, all C-sections get called emergency if they're not prebooked electives. So I wasn't asleep for my C-section, I had a spinal not epidural when I went into the operating theatre. I even walked with the surgeon down to the operating theatre, got introduced to my lovely anaesthetist, then everyone else in the room and explained why they were there, what there job was etc,. Then my DH got scrubbed in and sat with me to. Honestly it was a very chilled experience even though it was a big operation and there is quite a few people in room some for you, some for baby.

I to don't want to have one this time, due to recovery being slower than natural, but I'm fully prepared for needs must myself. And I know how quick it was all over. I didn't get to hold my daughter first, my husband did for the first 40 minutes of her life but they have such an incredible bond which started straight away!"

But any questions you have please ask @Rachyrach1930

@mammyofasuperbaby ah congrats on the milestone, you got this 💪.

Random question, do we need to change our house insurance for baby coming/when baby comes? No idea why this is even a thought in my head this morning but I'm a bit clueless with these things.

cannotmakemymindup · 30/06/2020 10:01

@JMill13 I added in accidental damage to our home insurance just incase and personal belongings. Just so that expensive items outside the home were 100% covered and if there was any accidents on carpets and they got ruined then we'd be covered.

@Rachyrach1930 I'm so so sorry to hear that lovely but I bet you can't wait to meet that rainbow baby!

I too have these nightmares most nights (my friend gave birth to a sleeping baby boy a few weeks ago at 24 weeks) and have been diagnosed with tokophobia - I am having some cbt sessions but I am going to ask my consultant next week about the possibilities for an elective section, simply because I almost have a panic attack every time I think about a vaginal delivery and can't see anything except the worst outcome. I know that there's no way my labour will progress as it should with such fear as adrenaline is the devil and it's more likely I'll need intervention which then results in more panic etc. I know a csection is a longer recovery but I'm willing to take that for the fear I have. The consultant might say no but I'm going to try.

I think you just have to weigh up which is more important to you and your mental health. A straightforward vaginal delivery will be much much easier to recover from- if you feel you can get yourself into a calm space where you can let oxytocin flow and not have a panic throughout the labour about the outcome it would definitely be the way to go. If you honestly think the whole labouring process you will be in complete fear then I would say an elective csection- you will feel that fear for only 15 minutes or so rather than hours until baby is out and you can hear it's cry and know it's ok. Yes the recovery will be tough but you'll have your healthy baby whilst recovering.

I think only you can make that decision lovely, but sending all the love ❤️

Leigh1989 · 30/06/2020 11:15

@squashie34 I managed to speak to my midwife yesterday regarding covid and visitors and she just said not to have any. That was it! I ended up going to UHCW myself in the afternoon as I had reduced movement - baby's heartbeat was 200 and should be between 110-160, was transferred to labour ward as I needed to be monitored closer, it did come down eventually but couldn't give me answers as to why it was so high! Been wriggling like normal this morning so relieved!

squashie34 · 30/06/2020 11:42

@Leigh1989 well that's helpful isn't it 🙈 how long for or just no visitors forever 🤣 sorry to hear that you had to go in with reduced movements, they're so lovely there though - have they given you a follow up scan or anything just to keep a closer eye on baby? Glad they have been wriggling away this morning!

Lucky08 · 30/06/2020 12:50

I'm glad I'm not the only one having shop anxiety. I've been doing the weekly shop for a few weeks now and round by me its fine. Security on the door, people respecting social distancing and being generally courteous. However, I tried a different shop yesterday just outside the local area for a change of scenery. Let's just say social distancing doesnt exist. One woman knocked into me with no apology. I ended up loosing it which isnt like me at all but I was so angry. Her response was I shouldn't be in the shop in my state. I just left my trolley and walked out then cried all the way home vowing to other half I'm never leaving the house again.

Firstmummytobe · 30/06/2020 13:27

Just been to see the head of fetal medicine and he was slightly concerned regarding babes bowel as it has gotten worse 💔
He said he would feel more comfortable if I went to see a specialist at another hospital aswell just so there are 2 sets of eyes that can look over his bowel.

I’m 35+4 and baby is measuring 6lbs 10oz so I think I have a very very big baby😂 it’s a good job I’m being induced soon because I’m really scared to give birth to a huge baby🙈

Beau2020 · 30/06/2020 13:52

@Leigh1989 no way, I'm also at UHCW!

Beau2020 · 30/06/2020 13:54

@Firstmummytobe aww no I'm so sorry to hear this sweet 😞 keeping everything crossed for you xx

squashie34 · 30/06/2020 13:56

@Beau2020 @Leigh1989 @Fig20 we are all UHCW ladies then! Small world! Imagine if we are there at the same time 🤭🤣

squashie34 · 30/06/2020 13:57

@Firstmummytobe sorry to hear it's gotten worse, but another expert to look over little one can only be a good thing- 2 pairs of eyes! And also that's a fabulous weight for an early induction 😍

cannotmakemymindup · 30/06/2020 14:15

@Firstmummytobe Sorry it's got worse but that's great he wants someone else checking things to. Definitely a great level of care. That is a good size your baby is at already.

Beau2020 · 30/06/2020 14:24

@squashie34 @Leigh1989 @Fig20 that's crazy that we're probably all so local to each other! Aww imagine if we were that would be quite surreal ❤️

Leigh1989 · 30/06/2020 14:35

@Beau2020 no way!! That's mad!! What are the chances hey! I'm in rugby xx

Rachyrach1930 · 30/06/2020 14:54

Thank you for the advice, feel better already x

cannotmakemymindup · 30/06/2020 15:31

Rachyrach1930 · 30/06/2020 15:55

@Firstmummytobe hopefully a second paid of eyes will be able to give you more guidance.
I'm just praying there isn't another second wave but I'm sure we'll find out after this weekend when everyone goes to the pubs who want to.
