KittyKat2020 · 15/07/2020 16:05

Just had bloody show, called triage and now it’s just a waiting game to see what happens. I’m due a cesarian on August 12th as baby is breech but it looks like his not waiting

squashie34 · 15/07/2020 16:09

Good luck @KittyKat2020 how exciting! Looks like little one wants to meet you sooner ☺️ will you still get a Csection with her being breech?

KittyKat2020 · 15/07/2020 16:14

Apparently it’ll still be cesarian yes so little man clearly not a fan of the 12th lol

sel2223 · 15/07/2020 16:15

Goodness me! I can't keep up with this thread,it's so fast moving!

Good luck @KittyKat2020 hope all goes well

Superscientist · 15/07/2020 16:52

Oh my lots of impatient little ones! I'm holding on to ftm being late thoughts but me and my partner were both early and my mum only went overdue with her 3rd.

@squashie34 I'm happy for him to bring it with him..... I dare him to try taking it out of the bag and turning it on!!

Who orders smelly food to any hospital ward?!?

WeeScottishWife · 15/07/2020 17:21

Wow, I missed a lot of posts somehow.

I'm really hoping my girl comes sooner than 40 weeks, but I guess we'll wait and see. Both me & my brother were planned c-sections, so no genetic clues about whether I'll be early/late unfortunately.

I think we've got the car seat behind the driver's seat for now, but it just clips in with the seatbelt so shouldn't be too much trouble to move. I'm not sure how much we're actually likely to be driving with her for the first few weeks anyway, though.

sel2223 · 15/07/2020 19:11

@WeeScottishWife I always wonder if there is a genetic link with different generations about whether babies will come early/late, how much they will weigh etc.

I was my mums first born and was a spontaneous labour, 13 days early and already weighing 8lb 5oz
I'm pregnant with my first (a girl) and so curious to see if it follows a pattern.

JMill13 · 15/07/2020 22:47

Good luck @kittykat2020

So many people keep telling me I'm going to go early 🙈 starting to freak me out a bit. I'm the youngest of 3, my brother came 4 weeks early, my sister was 3 weeks early and then 10 years later I came along 6 weeks early and at 4lb12, so will be interesting to see what happens with this one.

Started the house viewing process and honestly think we're crazy, contemplating going to view a house that needs ripped apart from top to toe, 5 and a half weeks before baby comes.

Becky899 · 16/07/2020 00:38

Hey everyone ! Very late to the party just found this group
I’m due my second baby on August 12th! Only 4 weeks to go and from
The north east xx

Havlerr · 16/07/2020 00:43

@KittyKat2020 good luck lovely, hope all goes well! lots of impatient babies it seems. I’ve got a feeling mine is going to be overdue Hmm

@JMill13 we’re in a similar boat! Got 4 weeks left until due date and our house purchase should be going through in the next few weeks. It’s not in awful condition but needs plastering/painting, removing Artex from ceilings, new flooring and probably a new kitchen and bathroom too. DH wants to wait and do it all slowly in a year HmmConfused but there’s no way I’m doing that. I plan on ripping it all out myself and doing as much as I can myself whilst he’s at work and I’m home with baby. I enjoy DIY and I’m hoping baby is chilled enough to give me some time to do it in between feeds. Fingers crossed eh?!

@Becky899 welcome! I’m due on the 13th. How are you getting on? x

Firstmummytobe · 16/07/2020 00:58

I literally just typed this and pressed backwards🤣🤣🤣
So what a day it has been. Started with me getting my waters broken at 10:30, then going on the drip at 11.
At one o’clock I had a cervical exam as the contractions were getting much much stronger and was told I was 2cm dilated.
At 2:45 the contractions got that bad I literally begged for the epidural, which I got and after about 45 mins it literally hadn’t done a thing and I could still feel every pain I was in agony, so they asked to do a cervical exam and I was 10cm and his head was nearly out🤣🤣🤣
With literally a couple of pushes he was here and blessed the world with his gorgeous bright eyes weighing 5lbs 6oz at 15:47!! (Proves growth scans are really inaccurate!!)

He’s doing really well but he’s been taken from me to another hospital where he needs special monitoring due to his condition, and I had to stay here to recover.

But we’re both doing really well and I’m feeling more than blessed and I’m so excited for every single one of you💙

Firstmummytobe · 16/07/2020 01:00

OH is there with him so he’s not on his own💙

sel2223 · 16/07/2020 01:17

@Firstmummytobe Congratulations!!! What a journey you have been on and now here he is, your little soldier!
He's absolutely beautiful. So sorry you can't be with him at the moment but it's important you both get the best care now snd I'm.sure your OH will keep you well informed. You could probably do with a good night's sleep as well, get your strength back ready to go and see your baby xx

squashie34 · 16/07/2020 04:47

Oh @Firstmummytobe I'm so so so happy for you!! 🥰 what a gorgeous little one, and look at his eyes! 😍 I'm glad you're both doing well - get lots of rest now and build your strength back up in the meantime before you are reunited with him, hopefully very soon 💙

NamiSwan · 16/07/2020 07:10

Congratulations @firstmummytobe! What a cutie 😍

On the genetic early/late thing, I'm not sure there is a link. But then my mum had four kids, first was early, second and third were late, fourth (me) was early. But all my sisters kids were late and both my DDs were late. I know a few women whose mums were early with all their kids and then expected to be early and were disappointed when they went overdue! So I always like to expect to go overdue then if baby makes a surprise appearance it'll be a bonus! My birthday is 4 days after my due date, I really hope I have my baby by then but expect I will be overdue, pissed off and tired 😅

MamaFirst · 16/07/2020 07:12
