@Camia I'm getting something similar on & off, lots this morning.

Firstmummytobe · 12/07/2020 09:40

@Camia if the pain seems to ease slightly when you change Position then it’s likely it’s braxton hicks xx

squashie34 · 12/07/2020 10:08

@Camia definitely sounds like braxtom hicks lovely - labour pains get shorter apart and increase in frequency and from what I understand contraction pains start from the top of the uterus whereas braxton hicks are low down- it's your body's way of saying it's getting ready 😁 exciting!

I'm officially 'full term today' at 37 weeks! When I was diagnosed with my OC 2 months ago I really didn't think I'd make it this far along with her still camping in there! 😁 just over 2 weeks until eviction day!

Camia · 12/07/2020 10:42

@squashie34 Really? I was told the opposite, braxton hicks tend to be at the top and real contractions are at the bottom

Either way they went away so who knows. I think I might just be paranoid lol

Firstmummytobe · 12/07/2020 10:55

@squashie34 @Camia when I went into early labour, my contractions started in my back and wrapped sharply around the front towards the bottom.

Braxton hicks is more of a tightening at the top/middle of the uterus in my experience!

Camia · 12/07/2020 11:01

@Firstmummytobe That's what I thought. I've gotten a lot of tightening feeling around the top/middle that I've been assuming were braxton hicks. It's so hard when people experience these things differently and you get conflicting descriptions of what to look for

Firstmummytobe · 12/07/2020 11:04

@Camia everybody’s experience is completely different! But if you were having labour contractions you would honestly know about it I think🙈🙈
when I’d had a labour contraction I was able to distinguish it from braxton hicks straight away.

Firstmummytobe · 12/07/2020 11:05

This is getting me really scared and excited now, I’m being induced TOMORROW 😁😁😁😁😁

sel2223 · 12/07/2020 11:06

@Firstmummytobe eeeeeek!!!!

Camia · 12/07/2020 11:13

@Firstmummytobe I hope so! I have this irrational fear I won't realize I'm in labor until it's too late to get to the hospital (crazy, I know 😂) and it's not helping my tendency to overthink everything. I've definitely had a kind of just unidentifiably off feeling since yesterday though that's making me think something might be happening soon. Just wish I knew when lol

And that's so exciting! You'll do great I'm sure

Firstmummytobe · 12/07/2020 11:18

@Camia how many weeks are you now? Xx

sel2223 · 12/07/2020 11:19

@Camia I know what you mean. It's still another 3 weeks till my ELCS but I'm convinced I'm going to go into labour before and I won't realise until it's too late!

I'm second guessing everything at the minute.....every twinge, every cramp, every ache and pain. I also have a general 'off' feeling that I just can't shake....achy, nauseus and having loose stools/diarrhoea (sorry for the TMI)....it feels like I'm coming down with something which is the last thing I need at the minute lol

Firstmummytobe · 12/07/2020 11:19

@camia 37 today you just told us... my bad, baby brain🙈

Beau2020 · 12/07/2020 11:21

I'm also officially 37 weeks today. Just went shopping and had a contraction or BH not sure which one, lasted about a minute and it brought a tear to my eye. I'm in Devon at the moment visiting OH family so I really hope I don't go into labour right now 😩

Oldestchild90s · 12/07/2020 11:31

Why does everyone seem to know when they are getting induced, or their babies positioning and stuff? I literally have no information at all. My midwife 'couldn't tell' where baby was last time! I am only 35 weeks though so maybe thats why?

Camia · 12/07/2020 11:38

@Firstmummytobe I'm somewhere between 36+3 and about 37. We found out I might have gotten incorrectly bumped back a little, though I guess it doesn't really make a huge difference either way at this point. At my last appointment I was 80% effaced and 1.5cm dilated though so doctor is saying it could easily be any time now (but of course could also be a little bit of a wait)

@sel2223 That's how I feel. My hips especially feel really loose and achy and I'm getting a lot of pressure low down, and my appetite has almost completely vanished and my stomach is just kind of bleh. I'm not really nauseous but not quite right either. And I keep bouncing between this restless, need to be moving but don't know what to do with myself feeling and more exhausted than I think I've ever been in my life

Newmama29 · 12/07/2020 11:42

I second the “crappy” feeling @sel2223. Over the last few days I feel back in the first trimester stage, the nausea, the exhaustion, except this time it’s made worse with the uncomfortable & heavy bump 😭 my stomach muscles just hurt all the time! I had stopped taking my iron tablets as they were making me far too constipated so I’m wondering if it could be that so back taking them again 😭

sel2223 · 12/07/2020 12:23

@Camia @Newmama29 it's horrible isn't it. I can't tell what's normal pregnancy and what's just generally feeling under the weather!

I'm so tired and the heartburn is the worst it's ever been so not eating much. Lots of pressure and shooting pains too. I definitely think I'm finding the third trimester the hardest!

squashie34 · 12/07/2020 12:56

@Camia there's every possibility I could have got this the totally wrong way round and that braxton hicks are at the top 😂🙈 please don't ever use what I say as medical advice as baby brain is well and truly a thing now!

@Firstmummytobe how exciting is that... tomorrow!!

I've had some real visual disturbances with my eyes this morning, I have had migraines with aura in the past but haven't have one for about 4 years except for about 3 weeks ago. Another one this morning but not followed by the usual huge head pounding. Took my blood pressure with my parents home monitor and it was so high, I don't think I took it right.. did it again 5 minutes later and it was slightly lower and then another 5 minutes again and it was almost normal. I was worrying about ore eclampsia symptoms but have no swelling etc!

JMill13 · 12/07/2020 12:57

@oldestchild90 for me I only know because the midwife on Friday was able to tell me, she wasn't entirely sure what shape baby was lying in as it seemed to be all over the place but after a lot of feeling about (she said he/she was very hard to find) she said the head was down but not engaged at all and the bum was up near my stomach with what she presumes was a leg somewhere over to the left hand side. Think I have a mini gymnast growing in there.

@sel2223 with you out the crappy feeling. Last few days, I've been waking up in the middle of the night thinking I'm going to be sick, dying with heartburn, had 2 days of running up and down to the toilet with diarrhoea (sorry tmi) and just a general feeling of not being right. Yesterday morning I even said to OH I felt like I was coming down with something but then after walking the dog I felt fine again just a bit meh with massive balloon hands. He was watching the Newcastle match so I came to bed and slept the entire way through it and was able to eat chinese for dinner whereas the night before I barely managed half a frozen pizza. 3rd trimester is definitely hard work.

MamaFirst · 12/07/2020 13:13

Agree with the general crappy feeling. I'm not having a good day today either, nauseous, headache, achey, uncomfortable belly. Bleugh.

@oldestchild90 I think several of us on here are being induced for medical reasons, which generally means we'll have extra growth scans. The midwife can often tell which general position baby is in just by feeling though. I had a check at 32 weeks and she could feel baby was head down and laying on my right side. If your midwife still can't tell in the next few weeks, I'd imagine you'd need a scan to check baby is head down?

sezzywoowoo21 · 12/07/2020 13:54

@Firstmummytobe...I remember us writing when we just feel pregnant and woosshhh your having your beautiful baby boy tomorrow it’s just so crazy how quick this pregnancy has gone...I hope all goes well for you can’t wait to here he’s safely arrived 😃 good luck huni...I’m officially 37wks tomorrow and lil lady is so low I swear she’s just guna pop out eeeekkk Xxx

kaxxz · 12/07/2020 14:57

I can relate to feeling like crap today. I've been crying all day 🤦🏼‍♀️

Havlerr · 12/07/2020 15:37

@Oldestchild90s I’m the same, don’t really know anything other than baby is head down but not low down I don’t think. I’m 35+3 and will ask what the midwife thinks at my next appointment which is on Thursday.

I am so big now, I feel the last few days my bump has definitely had a growth spurt. My lower stomach is getting really itchy also and I know the stretch marks are coming which I’m trying not to mind but can’t help being upset about Sad DH doesn’t care at all but I thought I wouldn’t get any until near the very end.

It took forever to figure out how to do it but we installed our isofix base and car seat in my car today! I know I’ve got time but it’s been sitting in our living room for a few weeks so thought we might as well learn how to do it. I’ve got a 3 door so it’s a bit awkward getting the car seat in and out but can’t really justify buying a new car when I’ve been unable to work thanks to Covid and have no real income. Hoping I don’t regret that later Blush

Havlerr · 12/07/2020 15:38

@Firstmummytobe that’s so exciting, good luck!! It’s really flown by hasn’t it 🥰
