@Havlerr haha ! They do look weird in the scans don’t they lol! It’s a lovely experience though and your baby is similar weight to ours then I think ! Lovely xx

@Firstmummytobe thank you 🤗 your baby is a lovely healthy weight and classed as full term he’s going to be perfect! I wish my baby was coming early I just know she will be late like my son was 😩. I feel so heavy altho I am carrying a lot smaller then I did with my son as I was HUGE and I had pre eclampsia so I was swollen and puffy everywhere was not pretty. Wishing you all the best for the birth hun xx

@heroineinahalfshell I think extra fluid is poly something or other. I haven't had it but it caused a couple of acquaintances to look larger than their weeks, but babies were all fine. I know they had extra scans sometimes weekly to keep an eye on it. I wondered when I had my scan for growth whether I would have it but midwife said normally that your bump feels rock hard whereas she could still tell limbs etc.plus my scan was fine.

Hi guys

Hope you're all doing well. I'm feeling really anxious today. I'm 35 weeks and I've been having tummy cramps and back pains on and off today. I'm also having the constant urge to pee, I have a midwife appointment tomorrow at 9.30am. baby movements are fine he's been wriggling all day thankfully. Has anyone else experienced tummy cramps that have lasted a day. I'm worried about placenta abruption or pre term labour Sad

cannotmakemymindup · 01/07/2020 22:02

@kaxxz I was a bit worried on Monday night and Tuesday day as I was in pain and so uncomfortable. I was trying to make up my mind if it was baby position, bad gas, braxton hicks etc,. For me it turned out it was an upset stomach. No idea if baby caused it or if that was why baby was wiggling and stretching so much. Warm bath and gaviscon helped ease my symptoms. But if you are worried make sure you ring your maternity team/triage.

@cannotmakemymindup glad to hear you feel better now. i'm hoping mine is just an upset stomach, I'll have to wait and see what the midwife says in the morning. The pain isn't excruciating it's just uncomfortable and making me anxious.

cannotmakemymindup · 01/07/2020 22:17

@kaxxz I hope you feel better soon to.

@heroineinahalfshell I've had that twice, it's called polyhydramnios. I never had a known cause for it, everything was fine with my babies. If you are diagnosed they might do an extra scan to check everything is as it should be, check you for GD etc.

It caused me an irritable uterus so I had lots of contractions a bit like braxton hicks, but constant, regular and more uncomfortable but without causing dilation. Also when the babies were born, they pass a tube down your little ones nose to check their swallow is OK as this can be a cause of the extra fluid. I was induced because of it, just because I was so uncomfortable. They were also careful when breaking my waters incase of cord prolapse.

Try not to worry! I think they are just extra cautious, and it sounds like it's mild or they would be acting more quickly. I'm being monitored for it again, but so far everything seems normal this pregnancy.

Firstmummytobe · 01/07/2020 22:22

@Sjacey Thankyou so much lovely!! And no you do too your bump is perfect you look really well😍😍

I went for the Venicci soft in grey But can’t take a pic because my mum won’t let me have it in the house because she’s so superstitious 🤣🤣 we only have the car seat and the actual pram has got to my nanas round the corner 🙃

Beau2020 · 01/07/2020 22:25

@Sjacey your bump is so perfect 😍

And ohh I love the colour of your egg! The pram is amazing so glad I got that one xx

MamaFirst · 01/07/2020 22:29

@sjacey oh she looks sooooo cute!! Did they say where your baby is on the centile chart? I am 31 weeks and had a scan yesterday, baby is 4lb 5oz already! I do grow big babies though, yikes. Congratulations, so exciting!

Beau2020 · 01/07/2020 22:35

@Sjacey I'm also 35 weeks with a girl and my bump is very similar to yours and also had 4D scan and the pics we're soo cute!! I can't stop watching the videos of her cuddling up inside the womb

Sjacey · 01/07/2020 22:47

@Beau2020 aww thank you ! Although I will probably start swelling up the last 4weeks 🤣 Not long to go now it’s getting very exciting xx

@Firstmummytobe thank you xx I don’t blame her I’m also really superstitious patience got the better of me this time ! 😂 xx

@MamaFirst thank you ! Well at 28 weeks she was 54th percentile then when I went back when I was 33 weeks she’d dropped to the 20th percentile which made me worry so much untill my 4d scan a week later which showed she is back up to 45th percentile. I think the problem is usually women only have to scans 12 weeks and 20 weeks but because I have extra scans due to history it showed her growth has slowed for a week which panicked me but I would never have been none the wiser Had I just had the normal 12/20 weeks so sometimes ignorance is bliss! 😂 did they tell you what percentile your baby is? They are changing all the time so I don’t think it matters too much to be honest my son was big and when he was born he was on the 80th percentile he is the funniest most intelligent kid I know so I don’t worry too much about being on the average aslong as your baby is ON the chart i think there’s nothing to worry about xx

heroineinahalfshell · 01/07/2020 23:40

@MamaFirst thanks, that's reassuring. Reading about your experience, I wonder if that's why I've been getting such strong braxton hicks as they have been regular and constant for a few hours at a time when they come on. I'm not too uncomfortable yet so here's hoping it doesn't lead to induction etc. Just got to wait and see I guess.

Ladies, I think I might be mad. 33 weeks pregnant and I just submitted an application for a role in my department that would be a promotion and 2 grade jump! I was encouraged to apply by my line manager but it still feels a bit mad - if I get an interview I'll be interviewing at 37 or 38 weeks. Just hope my brain isn't mush by then. On the plus side if I got it, the extra pay would cover nursery fees. Doubt they'll appoint someone who is about to disappear on mat leave for a year though!

cannotmakemymindup · 02/07/2020 10:12

Morning Ladies, I think I have now hit the I'm overwhelmed stage! I was doing fine but last few days I just can't wrap my head around the fact I'll have a baby here. And it's my second. Tried to tell a friend and all she is excited for me. It didn't really feel like she understood how tbh scared I feel. It's not even labour that's worrying me.

OP posts:
Firstmummytobe · 02/07/2020 10:37

@Cannotmakwmymindup I’ve work. Up this morning and cried my eyes out feeling so overwhelmed too!! I think it’s because I turn 36 weeks tomorrow which is classed as term really and my induction date is a week away. I feel so unprepared even though I literally couldn’t be more prepared, I think I’m just scared because it’s such a big life change and I don’t think I’m ready for it, but when will I be?!

cannotmakemymindup · 02/07/2020 10:41

@Firstmummytobe Yes exactly!! I already have a kid and I still feel like that. I do know it'll be okay in the long run but trying to wrap my head around it is just mind boggling.

So grateful for this space to share highs and lows with you all and knowing that you understand.

I just worry about the pain ladies, and the hospital but nothing else really. Having a newborn really excites me, being in hospital possibly alone worries me but the main thing is the pain.. i don't cope with pain very well and i know something so amazing comes out of it but i worry how long it will last, how painful, and the aftermath 😂

heroineinahalfshell · 02/07/2020 11:19

I know how you feel ladies. I woke up yesterday and thought 'the baby will be here next month. Next month?! How?!' I'm not worried/scared of labour, it's bringing her home and as @Firstmummytobe said, not knowing the impact or life change that will be! Conceptually we're prepared to be parents, but we can't know what life will be like until she is actually here. Like any big life change, it's exciting & scary in equal measure.

Lucky08 · 02/07/2020 11:29

I'm literally sobbing my heart out this morning and cant stop. I have all emotions going through my head such as how I'll cope, bleeding to death during birth, something being wrong with baby. Other half is also changing jobs so that's adding pressure financially and he has just been in a vile mood. I'm so glad I've got here to vent and realise I'm not the only one with these feelings. It's also my 30th the weekend and no one is coming to visit me or anything as live 50 minutes from family and friends. 😥

JMill13 · 02/07/2020 12:23

Right there with you ladies. I cried on and off for the majority of the day yesterday. Couldn't explain why really but I think it's just everything starting to get to me, can't wrap my head around the fact baby will be here next month, my house is still a tip, i need a break from the house and only seeing OH, he's amazing but he just isn't getting how scared and crazy I'm driving myself 😂 and then he was in an absolute foul shitty mood yesterday for some reason which just made me worse, was ready to kick him or kill him, in between crying fits. Bloody hormones 🙈

cannotmakemymindup · 02/07/2020 12:51

Whilst I am sorry we're all feeling like this, I am so glad you all get it and understand. I didn't actually cry yesterday but really felt like it. I think it was because start of July means first baby on the way for the group @Firstmummytobe and most of us next month and that's like a big thing. We all know it's good but still.

Seen a different midwife today as my usual one wasn't in. She measured my fundal height at 30cm when I'm 35 weeks, it hasn't gone up from my last measurement which is making me really nervous. She said the baby's head is engaged 3/5. I should hopefully be getting a growth scan so just waiting for the midwife to call me back.

squashie34 · 02/07/2020 13:00

Could have written these posts myself, I feel exactly the same ladies. Last Friday I had that day where I was just sobbing for no reason and had all those thoughts running through my head. Every week I'm so happy I'm a week further in and that means she's bigger/stronger, but I am petrified that it's so soon as I don't feel ready at all!
