Is anyone else’s baby transverse at 27/28 weeks? Does this make it more uncomfortable? Bump feels heavy at the end of the day. Will I know when baby turns?!

Anxiousgirl23 · 26/08/2020 09:21

@Whatinthename20 yes I’m nearly 29 weeks and my baby girl is transverse. Also find it uncomfortable. No clue though if we’ll know when they move!

topeeornottopeeisneveranoption · 26/08/2020 10:16

@StephRae how are the babies doing?

fancyfrogs · 26/08/2020 10:20

Well my November baby decided after a dramatic few days he'd rather appear in August - 2lb 8oz at 28+3 💙 he is doing as well as can be expected and is in the right place getting amazing care 💙

MillieFTM · 26/08/2020 11:25

Congratulations @fancyfrogs! Sending you both lots of positive vibes and well wishes! Xx

Pinktruffle · 26/08/2020 11:50

Jellycat2020 · 26/08/2020 12:13

Eeeeek @fancyfrogs! Scary stuff but huge congratulations! I reckon you'd have been due 13th November? That's one day before me. I'm really hoping my little one doesn't take notes from yours - I want her more cooked than that!

CoBell · 26/08/2020 13:03

@fancyfrogs congrats and all the best for your little early bean

mOmShanti · 26/08/2020 16:10

@fancyfrogs Welcome to your little boy 💙 sending love and strength for both you and him xx

mOmShanti · 26/08/2020 16:22

@Whatinthename20 @Anxiousgirl23 My baby had seemed to LOVE lying transverse most of the time (I did not love it so much because I felt I was being seriously stretched sideways!) But when I had my 28 week scan a couple of weeks ago my baby had turned head down. I’d not noticed the change in direction really. The sonographer said that baby may very well change position a good few more times before their ready to drop 🤣 So maybe we’ll notice ‘that’ change when the time comes.

Has anyone else been having Braxton Hicks yet? Sometimes my tummy gets VERY hard 😬

Whatinthename20 · 26/08/2020 16:39

@mOmShanti I swear I’ve been having Braxton hicks since a few weeks now (bump goes hard) but the midwife told me the other day ‘ooh it’s too early to be that’ Hmm

Addler · 26/08/2020 17:12

Congratulations @fancyfrogs! I hope your little boy has a smooth journey out of NICU and home soon with you Flowers

fancyfrogs · 26/08/2020 21:24

@Jellycat2020 he was due on the 15th Smile

Thank you everyone, he is doing really really well. Expecting bumps in the road and a long journey ahead but staying as positive as we can xx

Missworry92 · 26/08/2020 22:35

@fancyfrogs congratulations on your little boy :) I'm due on 15th november same as your due date was so hard to imagine having him today. Wishing you best of luck and hope he's home with you very soon.
And hi ladies, I haven't been on here for a little while as just been so busy with work.
I've noticed a weird odd clicking sound coming from my belly, I've googled it and it seems like theres a few theories ranging from babies bones clicking to baby sucking his thumb etc. Was wondering if anyone else had it?

wannabebump · 27/08/2020 08:47

@fancyfrogs congratulations on your baby... I hope you are all doing ok, and have plenty support. Hopefully not too long until he is home with you x

JJxo · 27/08/2020 12:03

Hi Ladies,

Been a while since I’ve been on the forum. Hope you and your babies are all doing well.

I’m sorry if this topic or similar have been discussed but felt I needed some support today. We attended maternity assessment unit late last night following suspected PROM. I am 30 weeks tomorrow, so was very anxious about this and felt more distressed when told husband couldn’t come in with me. Following, having to sit in a room alone with a heart monitor belt for 30 minutes, and then requiring a speculum. Everything fine and it was attributed to pregnancy discharge. Obviously so glad that no issues but I am so drained today due to how distressing it was to have to go through these tests and feeling worried alone whilst poor DH sat alone at the cafe downstairs.

I feel this is unfair and really anxiety provoking and I’m confused because our hospital appear to be allowing partners into 20 week scans but not to be there when there is a potential problem?! Has anyone else had a similar experience with their maternity assessment unit. Just praying I don’t have to go back. I understand the intentions behind not allowing partners in and want to do all I can to protect NHS and other mothers and babies but when we are from the same household and we see people now cramming into restaurants and pubs it just makes no sense to me. Sorry for the rant.

Anotherboy · 27/08/2020 13:09

That must have been a shock for you, glad everything is OK!
I totally agree with you, it's so annoying to see restaurants, pubs and soft play packed full yet you can't be accompanied when there are problems and like you say, from the same household. It also makes me anxious that we can only be accompanied in active labour and no visitors on the ward after, really not what you need for x number of days after giving birth. I'm seriously considering a home birth because of it all (plus a less than ideal experience last time).
