@Wise0wl I religiously smother my belly in coco-butter every night in the hope it helps against stretch marks! 😂 To be honest, I wouldn't mind the odd one or two, a badge of honour.

Wise0wl · 15/08/2020 18:29

@Jellycat2020 I’ve been using lovely bump oil from Burts Bees (less in the heat as I was just feeling too hot) but no luck 😕 but framing them as badges of honour make me feel a bit better!

AnxiousLady1 · 15/08/2020 18:34

I think a few people have said that stretch marks are genetic. So you either will get them or you won't. The belly rubs are nice to put on (I do myself), but I don't think they prevent anything really. Just keep bump from getting itchy and dry. 🤷‍♀️

Pink15 · 15/08/2020 18:45

I've been using bio oil. I agree it's probably genetic about stretch marks but I figured if nothing else maybe it'll keep the skin elastic so can "bounce" back easier and be less saggy? Maybe wishful thinking 🤔

Pinktruffle · 15/08/2020 18:49

I find I'm the opposite with movement, the baby is usually more active on days that I am and quiet on lazy days. Does anyone else find that they have days where the baby is just moving constantly - I had one of those yesterday where it was the most active I think it's ever been but today I've had a couple of kicks and that's it. I think it tired itself out. I actually remember thinking yesterday 'I bet it'll be quiet tomorrow' and it has been!

wannabebump · 16/08/2020 09:28

@Pink15 that's my thinking too, and also using bio-oil! Plus, my DH rubs moisturiser on the bump - I think it's a way for them to bond 😀 x

Does anyone else find it crazy that there are now threads for babies due in April 2021?! We were once those far away dates but shows how close we are getting!!!

Oatmilk1 · 16/08/2020 19:34

We are going for cybex cloud z isize because:

  • it fits into yoyo
  • it lies flat when out of car so baby can stay in longer
  • it swivels 180deg for getting in/out
MrsAJKA · 16/08/2020 20:19

FTM here - What is everyone putting their baby in when sleeping especially night time?
We have used a room thermometer and it is 24 degrees plus at the moment. We think it will be more at the time of arrival as heating would be on and off and we are above the kitchen and so our room gets quite hot.

I’ve checked the groegg website and they recommend nappy, sleeveless legless bodysuit and a 0.5 tog Grobag.

I was thinking nappy, sleeveless legless bodysuit plus a full sleep suit with integrated mitts and feet should be fine. What do you all think? I’m just so confused with whether swaddling, Sleepbags or blankets are the correct option.

Anyone else still breech position at 28 weeks? Getting worried now she won't move. Ever scan she's been like this. Also low placenta that needs to be checked ina couple of weeks.

AnxiousLady1 · 17/08/2020 08:15

@futuredreams I am. And MW told me at 28 week appointment not to worry at all. Said they don't even consider it an issue until 36 weeks as they can still move around a lot between now and then.

I'm still going to start doing some exercises to see if I can flip him around as I fear he's too comfortable there. I recently read about Millie McIntosh baby being breech from 28 weeks which meant baby has some hip dysplasia and needs a brace for 6 weeks or so. Would like to avoid that if I can.

Wigglebum87 · 17/08/2020 16:40

Does anyone else's belly button, where you've had a piercing, feel really tight? Almost like its not going to stretch?

NS34 · 17/08/2020 20:11

@Wigglebum87 i just said this to my sister yesterday, I haven't had a piercing in for years but it still feels really tired around where it was

StephRae · 17/08/2020 21:10

Hi everyone, I haven’t posted on here for quite a while, sorry I’ve been gone but I wanted to update you all. Our twins were born very early 2 days ago, I was just 25 weeks. Our baby boy Hudson was 2lbs 2 and our girl Mavis was 1lbs 13 so they’re both so tiny (although larger than average at 25 weeks). Due to being so early they’re in the nicu hooked to machines (which has been so awful to see, they look so fragile) where they will be for a while. It’s been extremely emotional for us but we hope that our gorgeous babies will be okay! ❤️

Addler · 17/08/2020 21:32

@StephRae God you poor thing! Congratulations on your gorgeous babies, I hope they have smooth sailing in the coming months and they're home with you soon. Lovely names! Thanks

HarrietM87 · 17/08/2020 21:57

Oh congratulations @StephRae! How worrying for you but what fantastic weights for the gestation! Wishing you and them all the best xxx

@futuredreams don’t worry - they can move up until really late on. My friends’ just flipped at 35 weeks. Spinning babies has good exercises to encourage the right position. Mine is mostly transverse at the moment because I get kicks and jabs at the same time on both sides of the bump! But I felt hiccups in my vag the other day so she was obvs head down at the time 🤣

@MrsAJKA grosnugs are good for the early days, just check the recommended weight. And remember it’s much better for the baby to be too cold than too hot.

MoreGinPlease2020 · 17/08/2020 21:58

@StephRae Congratulations on your babies! I hope you and they are doing well and that you're able to get them home safely when they're strong enough. X
