Hello I'm new to posting on sites such as this so I hope I've posted in the right place!
I just would like a few thoughts please.
I am on the mini pill, and usually have a period although not regular, between every 3 to 5 weeks. I haven't had anything since Feb so I took a pregnancy test a few days ago to rule that out before making an appt with gp to get checked. Imagine my surprise when I saw a faint line, so I did the other one in the packet which showed the same. Hubby says the line is too faint (think he's also wishing this is the case lol). I have since done three more, all the same result. I left a sample to the gp to check too which came back negative today but was told to re check myself next week as theirs won't pick up v early results!
Sorry for the long post but I feel like I need to get this off my chest with people who don't know me. Anyone else had a similar experience and what was the outcome. Thanks x

Oh very good, thanks for answering.
I think had i been trying I would have stopped testing after the first couple too. I was just a bit shocked when I got my first lines as I took a test to rule pregnancy out before going to the gp.
The gp's test was then negative and now I'm in this trap of testing to see if anything has changed but it never does!

Can't you try a different brand in case your buying a bad batch of frer with not so much dye in? Could you try a different pink dye brand like Asda own and see what kind of line that gives? X

Ispywithmycynicaleye · 29/06/2020 19:39

I had faint lines just like yours from both my pregnancies. The lines never got darker for me as the pregnancies progressed. I'm sitting on my bed with my 1yo and my 2yo in their cots either side of me.

So I also think they are positive tests Smile

TJ17 · 29/06/2020 20:20

Have you tried a digital test OP? To see in black and white

daisychain1620 · 29/06/2020 23:03

Thanks for your suggestions everyone much appreciated although I've tested with a clear blue digital last Thursday which was negative and although I've been using frer the most I've bought some from on line and some from shops so they are from different batches. I've also used boots own brand and a brand called Answer that I got from our local chemist. All of them have lines! It's so strange. (I really should stop now as the blood test should tell me once and for all!)
You're lovely to stay with me and give me support and your thoughts, your messages are comforting so thank you. Smile

I had a spare frer so thought I'd just take it as I can't help myself. BFN! I'm sure if u squinted hard enough and held it at a certain angle there might be a hint of a line but that's because I'm looking for it but if this was the first test u had taken I would have definitely said it's negative. Weird thing was I felt really nauseous this morning and not feeling quite right. DisappointingSad
I had really gotten used to the idea and was holding out hope that I was one of the few who just had low HCG levels

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 30/06/2020 15:33

Have you got a picture of the FRER?

TJ17 · 30/06/2020 16:11

Aww I can't imagine how mad it's sending you 😩 you've been on a bit of a rollercoaster with all this 🤦🏼‍♀️

Let's see what the bloods say and hopefully you'll know once and for all! 🙏🏼 x

daisychain1620 · 30/06/2020 16:33

Here is the offending photograph. Roll on Thurs because when I hear from them that there's nothing then I can put it to bed. Right now I'm googling 'who was really pregnant when their test said negative' and the like. It's turning me into a basket case.

I completely understand! I was the same when AF was late and I got negatives for 6 days before getting a positive!I was obsessed and it was so stressful! But 6 days is nothing compared to how long you've had to wait for answers! 🤦🏼‍♀️😩 praying Thursday comes round quick for you OP 🙏🏼Thanks

daisychain1620 · 30/06/2020 17:57

Thanks, you're a wee love x

@daisychain1620 hopefully you’ll get a call tomorrow which will give you an answer, however this is what happened when I had a chemical pregnancy. I had a faint positive that never got stronger, then faded to nothing and my period came shortly after.

If this has happened for you, I guess this leaves the question as to whether it has prompted you to want to consider another baby?

daisychain1620 · 01/07/2020 10:50

Gp phoned to say I'm def not pregnant. My HCG levels were 2.1.
I feel a bit relieved to know for sure now but I think it's so weird all those tests had lines. Thanks for listening to me and keeping me sane!Smile

I’m glad you’ve got your answer now. I’m wondering if you did have a chemical pregnancy as that was a lot of tests with lines. Hope you’re ok.

daisychain1620 · 01/07/2020 11:51

That's what I thought but I've decided just to forget about it all and stop torturing myself x

I know what it feels like OP. I've had the mirena coil for a few years and as expected my periods stopped. So I have the occasional paranoid POAS, and although I definitely don't want more kids (I have 3), there's always this weird disappointment when it's negative!! Feel ridiculous. I think our atavistic selves just want us to churn out endless babies, and keep breaking through our rational brains!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 01/07/2020 12:00

Yeah, I think you’re wise to do so. Flowers

daisychain1620 · 01/07/2020 13:06

Thanks guys😘

This makes me sad though for all those who are desperately trying and if they kept getting the results I got it must be devastating. I've come to realise from being on here recently that some ladies really search and hope for line, I felt like I didn't need to scrutinise my sticks, the lines were quite clear and in person they were much clearer. It's not right or fair really

TTC were some of the worst months for me. I obsessed over LH and HCG tests every month and any pregnancy announcement plummeted me into hatred and jealousy. I’m not proud of how I acted during those times.

I had a chemical pregnancy right at the start of TTC and it broke my heart. Now I’m 28w pregnant and am very mindful not to post on social media about it because you never know what someone else is going through.

daisychain1620 · 01/07/2020 14:49

Im sorry for what you went through but am happy to hear you are now 28w pregnant, congratulations I wish you all the best!
This is just so difficult and took over my life for the last two weeks, I can only imagine the strain and pain this pressure would make for those trying over and over. These tests can be so misleading as I've found out and it's just not fair.
Best wishes to you all x

Oh so sorry OP that's a horrible thing to have to go through 😩 so sorry it got your hopes up. It most probably was a chemical which would explain why they were faint and then stopped. Such a mind fuck though and I imagine a bit of an emotional rollercoaster seeings as you hadn't planned to try and get pregnant 🤦🏼‍♀️

I hope now you finally have some closure you can start to heal Thanks

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 01/07/2020 17:28

Thank you @daisychain1620 Flowers

daisychain1620 · 08/07/2020 16:03

I hadn't planned on posting on this thread again but I'm going to!
So that's a week now that the gp confirmed I'm not pregnant by my blood test but Ive still not had a bleed. I'm certain I had positive results on many, many tests a few weeks back now as back up by some of you lovely ladies so why no bleed? Any ideas? I thought I'd be able to forget about this but clearly not.

How very strange. I have no wisdom to pass on to you.
