@hansterlou try not to worry. It’s too early for defined patterns. There’s a guide at the bottom here www.tommys.org/pregnancy/symptom-checker/baby-fetal-movements

nearlyamummyof2boys · 07/07/2020 16:24

Hey @hamsterlou I'm 20+5 and I haven't felt anything I've said before in this thread I didn't till 7 months with my first! He must of been very sleepy! Can't wait to feel it from this little fella.
Welcome x

hamsterlou · 07/07/2020 17:04

@Pinktruffle it's hard to just "stay calm" and "try not to worry" isn't it? No matter how many people tell you it's probably fine or it's normal.. for me it's just the uncertainty of not knowing what's going on in there.. I won't be fully reassured until I see it on the scan! I have also been quite sad about my boyf not being allowed in to the antenatal clinic with me.. but he will be waiting right outside.. and there is always the back up option of going for a private scan (where partners are allowed) so we can see baby together! Not long for you now.. xx

Snowwhite2020 · 07/07/2020 17:15

@peachypetite I know what you mean about having no appetite in the evening- I’m exactly the same! I could eat a fair bit from late morning to early afternoon tho!

peachypetite · 07/07/2020 17:28

Weird how it disappears in the evening isn’t it!

PipTed · 07/07/2020 18:30

@RunnerGirl123 glad your tests have come back good so far, fingers crossed for you tomorrow!

PipTed · 07/07/2020 18:32

Had my anatomy scan today - all looks normal. 😊 not finding out gender but if anyone has any guesses it’s fun to hear. X

PipTed · 07/07/2020 18:32

@ChampooPapi how did your scan go?

peachypetite · 07/07/2020 18:51

@PipTed so pleased for you. Were you very nervous before? I’m starting to get a bit anxious about mine! (Friday).

peachypetite · 07/07/2020 18:52

@PipTed also! I don’t want to find out the sex either but I’m worried it might be obvious or the sonographer will slip up. Did they check with you first?

MummyShark97 · 07/07/2020 19:03

@PipTed so glad your scan went well !!

arghhh I just have to share as hubby is not home ! Felt him kicking so I lightly poked my belly and he did kicks back and saw my belly move could burst with joy!!!

PipTed · 07/07/2020 19:08

@peachypetite I was a little nervous yeah, especially as partners still are not allowed into the appointment. Not sure if that is the same all over the Uk?

The sonographer asked if I wanted to find out the gender, half way through the scan, so assume they’d already seen what they needed to at that point and didn’t let on. 😊

PipTed · 07/07/2020 19:20

@peachypetite I know what you mean about the anxiety though! Especially as more people know at this point, almost feels like there’s more pressure at this point for everything to be perfect too. But I’m sure everything will be fine for you; we do like to find things to worry about, I think it’s human nature.

ChampooPapi · 07/07/2020 19:21

@PipTed so glad all ok today and gorgeous scan picture you've got there, I'm thinking a girl but only because it looks very similar to one of mine. All ok our end, girls measuring spot on and all organs and vitals perfect.

Great consultant as well, asked how I wanted to birth, I said planned c section and she say 'okay, excellent, i'll get the consent forms'

It is such a relief to not have any kind of battle on my hands there, it is twins after all so it's hardly a normal situation birth wise but still I was worried that I might have to push a bit for it.

They are going to do a natural c section as well as they specialize in this at Torbay, its where the babies push themselves out out of the cut they make which mimics the birth canal which is much better for their lungs, I am so happy about this! Fab day all round.

Bloody uncomfortable being scanned for an hour though on my back heavy breathing into a mask. When there are two they push on a certain nerve which if your on your back for too long basically makes you pass out, so had a few wobbly moments. My single anomaly scan was less then twenty minutes but it makes sense that its so much longer to check two babies, but it went on forever!

Torbay are letting partners in for the twenty week scan though so my man was present which was amazing and very unexpected. I thought we'd ask when we arrived and they said absolutely fine but only for the twenty week scan. A lot of women there on their own who also were there for the 20 weaker who had assumed they had to be solo.

So anyone else on here, definitely worth asking when you guys arrive, I'm sure a fair few of you will get to take your men in with you

@MummyShark97 that’s so exciting! Did it fee like a kick or stronger? I thought I felt something like that this morning, but think it might have been wishful thinking. 😂

MummyShark97 · 07/07/2020 19:34

it was a really strong movement he did back to the pokes 3 times! Saw the movement on my stomach it was really exciting! I'm not sure why I'm one of the lucky ones to feel strong movements early but I'll take it.

I've felt light pops and swishes previously !

RestorationInsanity · 07/07/2020 20:49

I haven't felt much yesterday or today. Beginning to wonder if I imagined it! But DH felt a couple of taps last week. I can feel movements better when I ret my hands on my stomach, even though almost all the movements are inside. Maybe it just helps me focus. I think I feel the rolling quite often during the day at my desk. Like gentle pressure against the front of my stomach and then a little lurch. Assume it's somersaults! 😂

Lovely scan pic @PipTed, I'm going to guess girl too!

Glad to hear all went well with your scan @ChampooPapi.

Thinking of you for tomorrow @RunnerGirl123.

Pinktruffle · 07/07/2020 20:52

Adorable scan pic @PipTed, I'm not finding out the gender either, I feel like we are in a real minority.

I'm getting a lot of scanxiety now. I can't figure if the baby is less active than it was a couple of weeks ago or if I've gotten used to the movements so they feel less pronounced. No kicks yet though, just popping and rolling. DH will be driving me to my scan on Monday so I will ask if he can come in, I think I'll need the moral support.

Glad your scan went well @ChampooPapi

Pinktruffle · 07/07/2020 20:53

Best of luck for your scan tomorrow @RunnerGirl123, I'll be thinking of you

Asianchick6693 · 07/07/2020 21:01

Hey guys! I've been trying to post a photo of my bump for a while but website is playing up. I'm super camera shy!! But this is me and bump on Sunday at 18 weeks. Feel self conscious as I look bigger than a lot of people at this stage! People have started making comments at work like 'Omg look at your bump!!' but I wouldn't change a thing. Baby's movements are the cutest thing ever and I feel like I'm constantly bonding with little one. Hope everyone is well :)

RestorationInsanity · 07/07/2020 21:03

@Pinktruffle I'm not finding out either.

I'm sure Monday will be fine but the waiting is awful. I felt quite chilled, but now not at all!! Mines next Friday and I already know DH can't come in. Just hope everything is ok.

Pinktruffle · 07/07/2020 21:08

@RestorationInsanity I was fine this time last week, but I actually think I feel more anxious in the run up to this one than I did the 12 week scan. I had lots of morning sickness etc then which gave me a (naive) sense of security. This time, other than the bump, there's nothing so I need some reassurance.

I'm sorry your DH can't join you, it's so unfair on them. I've just told DH about @ChampooPapi's husband being allowed in but warned him not to get his hopes up. He was so worried at the 12 week scan the he kept texting and calling me. I obviously didn't answer as I was getting scanned. He was a right state by the time I got back to the car!

kkr168 · 07/07/2020 21:40

At 19+5 I think I finally have a bump

@Asianchick6693 cute bump, think we have the same bedding!

@PipTed I'm going to guess girl

PipTed · 07/07/2020 21:47

Thank you for all the guesses, my husband is also convinced it’s a girl, too 😊 I’m always changing my mind.

That’s so good that your OH could join you @ChampooPapi

It’s really inconsistent throughout the country, which is very annoying! So wish my husband could’ve come today, he would have been over the moon watching baby on the screen.

Praying it will have all changed and become more structured by the time babies start to come.

@Pinktruffle @RestorationInsanity the nerves really do creep up on you don’t they! But at least this time, you know what to expect, regarding the process etc. I was also getting worried about lack of movement, but I think sometimes the more you focus on it, the more stubborn the baby is to perform 😂 it’s crazy how much the baby moves around and we barely feel a thing!!!
