@RestorationInsanity not like we're going anyway really is it !

@excitednerves on that note I boxed up all my heels today, not going anywhere I'll be wearing them anytime soon!

kkr168 · 06/07/2020 22:24

@MummyShark97 I initially sized up but the fit is then really bad, looked like I was wearing a sack. I have now got a couple of pairs of maternity jeans in my normal size & they are so much better. They fit all over & with the amount of stretch in the waistband should see me all the way through. I still haven't got much of a bump though, currently all of my regular clothes still fit, my jeans were a little tight (hence the buying of maternity ones) but they seem to be fitting fine again now, I guess the baby has moved?

Weighed myself today & I have gained 5lb so far, happy with that, at the same time with my 1st I was 2 stone up.

Pinktruffle · 07/07/2020 00:20

I'm still WFH and only really going out for a walk a couple of times a week. I've raised DH's wardrobe for tops and t-shirts but bought some maternity leggings from Asda and some maternity joggers and jeggings from Dorothy Perkins. Love tbe leggings and joggers as they fit lovely over my bump which feels quite big to me. The jeggings are under the bump rather than over the bump like the other stuff so they aren't as comfy but I've kept them as rget will hopefully fit after the baby is born. I went for my usual size 8 as I've only put weight on on tbe bump, even my chest hasn't grown.

peachypetite · 07/07/2020 06:23

@MummyShark97 my mum was trying to be helpful and bought me maternity bits in a size bigger and I looked so frumpy. Going back! I have found some nice bits from dorothy perkins maternity and a couple of eBay bargains. My friend is further along than me and said seraphine was great. Just buy your normal size. I did a H&M order which was really disappointing- forgot how awfully inconsistent the sizing is from there so 90% of it is going back despite everything being a medium some of it is huge and some too tight! Gah!

peachypetite · 07/07/2020 06:33

Oh and leggings from love leggings which are one of the only places I’ve found petite maternity Leggings!

PipTed · 07/07/2020 08:55

I’m also still managing to fit into some Normal size 8 dresses?! (Some kind of shape shifting going on, I’m sure) but jeans are a no go as my thighs and bum are taking on whole a new life of their own. 😂

I can feel an investment in maternity leggings coming on...

EithneBlue · 07/07/2020 09:09

My 2 pairs of Love Leggings are literally THE BEST thing I bought. I think they've got a customer for life out of me, there.
I'm normally a size 12 but the size 12 maternity clothes I have are mostly coming up a little big right now (although I didn't send anything back because they're borderline enough that I've assumed I'll grow into them) - buying a size 10-12 mixed bundle off Ebay has actually turned out to be really helpful!

peachypetite · 07/07/2020 09:14

I also have some non maternity dresses that are fine because they don’t have any zips or buttons!

lionsmum · 07/07/2020 10:12

@peachypetite I bought a pair of petite leggings from Love Leggings too a few weeks ago, they are amazing! Mine got a bit bobbled strangely after washing so I contacted them and they are sending out a replacement pair this week, really good customer service! Agreed @EithneBlue I'll defs be buying their normal leggings too post-pregnancy

@excitednerves have you tried Peptac? You can get it from the pharmacy and I find it works a treat. My heartburn was worse in my last pregnancy but I take it occasionally now and I find it amazing. Sometimes I feels like rennies don't even touch the sides!

How are you @nearlyamummyof2boys ? I find myself thinking about you and your boys a lot!💙

Also any update from @RunnerGirl123 ? Keeping everything crossed for you x

Good luck to all with scans this week!💖

RunnerGirl123 · 07/07/2020 10:22

Hi ladies! Thanks @lionsmum for thinking of me. All our genetic testing has come back as normal so that's good news for us but doesn't change our overall prognosis or improve our risk of miscarriage at present. We have an appointment and scan tomorrow to discuss results and hopefully see if they'll look into draining the fluid from the tummy into the amniotic sac to give the lungs a better chance of developing normally. I'm hoping we still have a heartbeat tomorrow and they'll say yes to treatment and we can act quickly as I believe this will give us our biggest chance of baby and survival. But they did say it would be almost experimental if they did it. Hopefully tomorrow we can feel like we're moving forward though instead of just waiting and waiting.

We did also find out we are team GIRL!

chubbyhotchoc · 07/07/2020 10:33

@RunnerGirl123 aww good to hear from you. Let's hope they can act soon and give your little girl the best help. Thinking of you

peachypetite · 07/07/2020 10:37

@RunnerGirl123 I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow. Are you sleeping? I can’t imagine how you must feel. I’ve started having really weird dreams about babies which I know is because I have my scan on Friday and I’m obviously feeling the anxiety now.

excitednerves · 07/07/2020 10:50

@RunnerGirl123 good luck tomorrow. It must be so scary for you. Hoping and praying that everything goes smoothly for you. X

RunnerGirl123 · 07/07/2020 10:58

Thanks all. Sleep is mixed, I either sleep long but wake loads, or sleep deeply and then wake up early! I have up days and down days, naturally. But generally we're doing okay. Just want to know what's going on in there now.

I'm still keeping up with all your posts and enjoying all your updates. I've been suffering with heartburn too but gaviscon is keeping that at bay, and I've got a little bump so have got some maternity jeans and tights ready to return to the office on Thursday.

nearlyamummyof2boys · 07/07/2020 10:59

Hey @lionsmum thanks for thinking of us that's sweet of you 💙❤️

We have a scan at window to the womb tomorrow. Keeping fingers crossed.

It's OHs birthday today - first one with our son so that's lovely!

@excitednerves we had house survey yesterday and am going to view it again later today with my
Mother in law - super stoked.

Thinking of you @RunnerGirl123 today xx

excitednerves · 07/07/2020 11:17

@nearlyamummyof2boys eeek look at all our house buying going so smoothly! I think you, me and @MummyShark97 are going to be busy bees for the next couple of months!

Good luck with the scan tomorrow. And I hope your OH has a lovely day.

hamsterlou · 07/07/2020 13:52

Hi all, I'm brand new to mumsnet and 19 weeks pregnant. Just wanted to share my experience.. as a FTM to be it's really hard to know what baby's first movements are supposed to feel like.. I thought I felt a little tapping last week but wasn't sure.. is it gas, is it a muscle twinge, is it nothing? Playing the waiting game during lockdown has been tough, every day feels like an eternity.. and it's still another 9 days til my 20 week scan! Last night I got really anxious and scared that something might be wrong, because I hadn't felt any tapping or possible movements since last week.. and I began thinking , how would I know if something's wrong? How can I wait another 10 days not knowing if it's still OK in there? I spoke to a midwife this morning who said that it's quite normal for any movement to feel sporadic with no regular pattern at this stage, but if I was worried I could go to A&E.
Then, this morning while lying in bed.. I finally felt it moving! :) This time I knew it wasn't gas, it was different.. lower down below my belly button, more persistent.. it felt like a little frog doing somersaults! I can't describe the relief I'm feeling!!

Snowwhite2020 · 07/07/2020 13:55

Thinking of you @RunnerGirl123. I hope you have a good meeting with the hospital staff tomorrow and that they agree to try treatment. You are dealing with this so admirably. Love to you, your baby and your partner xx

peachypetite · 07/07/2020 14:17

@Snowwhite2020 how’s your sickness?

Kj1010 · 07/07/2020 14:56

Hiya any tips for constipation sorry tmi but really struggling here making me feel crap sick the whole lot spent like 30/40 mins on toilet very painful I am eating fruit could should up intake of veg but making me feel very low and emotions are terrible today just feel like crying have asked oh to go chemist and see if I can get a laxative or something to help in mean time

Snowwhite2020 · 07/07/2020 15:13

@peachypetite definitely much improved thanks for asking! Had a bad week last wee but my bump has grown a lot and I can now feel movement so reckon it was some sort of growth spurt. Otherwise I still feel ropey in the mornings but am not generally actually sick, that’s only happening randomly once or twice a week now. How’s things with you?

peachypetite · 07/07/2020 15:36

Kj make sure you’re eating flax seeds or linseeds every day, eating plenty of fruit. I find making juices eg carrot orange and mango or cucumber, spinach and green apple is the easiest way.

peachypetite · 07/07/2020 15:38

@Snowwhite2020 so much better. No nausea and mostly eating better, still very plain and not a great appetite in the evenings but just relieved to not feel sick. I haven’t felt a thing! Wondering when I will. Got my scan on Friday.

Kj1010 · 07/07/2020 15:45

@peachypetite thanks will try my 9h has gone and got loads of bits n Bob's to try just hope it works rang midwife said the obvious but said u can get fibre sachets where u mix with cold or warm water and helps generate toilet habits naturally so will go look and get some hopefully

Pinktruffle · 07/07/2020 16:02

@hamsterlou I'm right there with you. I feel this anxiety every couple of days even though I've been to maternity triage and they've told me it's normal for movement to be sporadic at this stage. I keep telling myself that but baby does tend to have a bit of a pattern with morning and late evening movement and it usually jumps are when we go for a walk and that didn't happen yesterday. I have my scan next Monday so 6 days left and I'm just trying to stay calm and not overreact
