Sorry you're all suffering on and off too, but it's a relief to be honest. I feel much better than the first trimester, but I'm not seeing this "incredible energy and feeling great" that I've heard so much about. I keep thinking little things like this that I could bring up with the midwife in my phone call next week but seems a bit pointless so it's so nice having you all here for reassurance. Am 16 weeks tomorrow and bump has been a bit more noticeable the past few days so maybe it is growth spurt time again!

@nearlyamummyof3 that's such a lovely idea to plant a rose. I believe there are websites where you can name a rose too.

It's nowhere near the same thing as what you are going through but when I had my ectopic pregnancy, as the baby would have been due in December, we bought a simple Christmas decoration for the tree. Nothing baby related, but it was a little memory for us.

ChampooPapi · 18/06/2020 14:32

@nearlyamummyof3 such a perfect tribute, and roses come back every year so it will become such a special reminder when it blooms. My step father did the same for his dau who passed away. Around this time of year half his hedgerow is awash with pale pink roses. My partner whomis a landscape gardener says go for a David Austin, best type for easy grow and reliability.

You definitely should talk to someone, it is just something that is so difficult to wrap your head around let alone manage on your own. Your strength is amazing, and I think that letting go of any guilt, especially when its combined with buying baby things, is very important. You can do whatever you want and it is ok, what's best for you these next few months is going to be what's best for your whole family, you need to keep those joyful things a part of this pregnancy, even if it feels wrong or strange.

This all must be so unbelievably hard, but your going to get through it, and your newborn will be the gift at the end of all this that will bring so much happiness and love into your grieving family.

And let's face it, talking and shopping never hurt any woman 😆 xx

And yes to feeling weakened today, I have been utterly useless! I'm laying on our bed now about to finish the Salisbury poisonings with my partner. The furloughed life ey 😏

I’m not sure every woman experiences the glowing phase! Some of my friends have told me it’s total bullshit.

RestorationInsanity · 18/06/2020 15:19

So far the only people I know who have said the second trimester was amazing are those who gave birth 18+ years ago and are possibly looking back at pregnancy with the rose tinted glasses of time! 😂

MummyShark97 · 18/06/2020 15:30

@restorationinsanity @peachypetite I definitely do not have the glow!! My skin is actually worse!

@amyy1 @ic86 how are you/anyone else feeling about your gender scans? I've just started to feel a little nervous for mine today is that weird? Think I've just convinced myself if it's a girl and now I feel all nervous about it even though I'd love a little boy too!

Amyyy1 · 18/06/2020 15:33

@MummyShark97 I'm super nervous for mine tomorrow and I have no idea why cos I will be ecstatic regardless of what the gender will be and am so excited to see my little baby on the screen again to see how much they've grown. I feel like the pressure is on cos all of my family and friends and people I work with think a girl so I almost feel like I need to deliver them that news??😅

firstbabybell · 18/06/2020 15:34

🤣🤣🤣 You ladies crack me up. No glow here either. Just lots of gas. 😩

firstbabybell · 18/06/2020 15:35

Someone messaged me after a zoom quiz the other week and said I was "blooming" which, as we all know, is code for fat! 😂

MummyShark97 · 18/06/2020 15:48

@Amyyy1 Glad it's not just me, I know exactly what you mean about pressure, my mum keeps saying "you are having a girl", she's absolutely convinced and feel the same about delivering that news! Saturday can't come quick enough! Will love seeing baby again though esp as hubby can come along too.

peachypetite · 18/06/2020 15:51

I feel rough anyway due to not being able to get my nails done, brows threaded, hair cut, then pregnancy on top, thankful to not have to socialise at the moment.

peachypetite · 18/06/2020 15:59

Grin I’m not even that high maintenance I swear but I do like to look nice and my ends are so split now, it’s just awful.

ChampooPapi · 18/06/2020 16:03

@excitednerves in more mountain buggy news thought this would be useful for you. You'll need Clip 28 to attach a car seat to your duet. These can be found online to second hand. To attach a double car set I'll need Clip 31 which I'm currently haggling for on eBay. I'm trying to include a picture of the clip for you but I've posted the car seat matrix which is very easy to follow ☺️

I've had terrible acne from the start. It's calmed down a bit with stuff from the gp. I certainly don't glow 😂
Had my 16 week appointment with midwife. As predicted might as well have talked to a blow up doll but baby was ok so it was worth going for that.

ChampooPapi · 18/06/2020 16:14

Here is clip 28 @excitednerves

@excitednerves And these are the clips to attach the carrycot plus, though if you buy one second hand I'm sure it will come with them

Thanks @champoopapi!

peachypetite · 18/06/2020 16:27

My 16 week appt is meant to have been this week, by phone. No call yet, will be shocked but pleased if a midwife does call tomorrow without me having to chase...

RestorationInsanity · 18/06/2020 16:35

@chubbyhotchoc glad all was well. did the midwife listen to baby's heartbeat? I wish my 16 week appointment was going to be face to face, would be nice to have that little midway reassurance.

EithneBlue · 18/06/2020 16:42

I am beginning to think the second trimester 'loads of energy' is just in comparison with the first trimester and third trimester. I think it would be lunacy to try to compare it with 'before pregnancy'.

I think the baby is playing trampoline on my bladder today - I'm constantly needing to pee! This seems to happen every few days, so I guess it's just the position of baby. I also still can't decide if what I'm feeling inside is baby, gas or my imagination... I am assuming it'll become apparent at some point fairly soon!

chubbyhotchoc · 18/06/2020 16:43

@RestorationInsanity yes she did. I saw the Doppler as soon As I went in and broke out into a sweat. No idea why really because I can feel her move quite a lot and visible movement through my tummy. I'm starting to wonder whether she's going to be really big. My dh and I are both really tall

ChampooPapi · 18/06/2020 16:47

@excitednerves I can imagine having fever dreams in those early weeks after labour, babbling incoherently with the occasional 'duet carrycot' and 'car seat matrix' thrown in before falling back into fevered sleep 😂
