@MilsCookie it really is the worst isn't it? As I said I think it will be around 16 weeks ish that they completely go for you, but they can obviously return for a multitude of reasons. Obviously important in third and later second trimester to watch out for them as they can be an indication of pre eclampsia, I'm actually getting my blood pressure taken tomorrow as well as another urine dip tear as I thought mine were long gone and the past 3 days I've been back to the good old 1st trimester days of massaging my own head while wearing a cool pack on the sofa. Took codein yesterday and paracetamol, blow it I thought, I'm fricking diying here!.
On the sleeping situation I am definitely doing separate, I did a snuzpod with my last with a sleepyhead inside (yes I know your not supposed to do that for night time but thousands do so 🤷♀️).
I will be doing the same for these ones so got another snuzpod second hand and another sleepyhead, also second hand this time and they used it for less then a month so I'm not changing the mattress this time around. With the first one I brought I used little green sheep to replace the mattress, they do some really good waterproof protectors as well.
When they grow out they will either go in separate cots or bed share a double bed we already have (on the floor obviously to avoid rolling out).
I think guidelines for twins are as soon as they can roll to separate them anyway as they can restrict each other's airways by rolling into each other. Though post 6 months they are both able to roll free and wiggle away so co sleeping them is then fine.
Whatever works for you really, but I'd definitely advise second hand next to me cribs if your going down that route and just get new mattresses, as they cost so much and by 5 months sometimes they have grown out of the dam things!
Gumtree is your friend 🙏
Oo also on buggy front I've gone for the mountain duet as it's so slim, we have the swift already and they are the same widths. They can have two carseats simoltaniously as well with the use of an adapter clip. We also got ours on Gumtree, did go for a very new model so was still 250 pounds, but way better then paying 700! All components of these things are washable too. Think I'm forgoeing the basinets this time, although the carry Cott plus is cool because it transforms into a parent facing seat up to three years ☺️
