Jumping in on the weight conversation, my scales currently have no battery so I can't weigh myself, and whilst I first thought this was a bad thing I'm kinda glad now! I think I've put on some weight (and when I asked OH he said he thought my arms were bigger, when I meant my tummy) but I'm planning to walk more now I'm feeling better than before and because I'm getting less parcels from work so don't need to wait in all day! I'm trying to eat normally so with more walking I should be able to balance things. I hope I don't gain too much, as it's harder to lose with PCOS but I think certain bodies gain the weight differently in pregnancy so there's only so much you can control anyway. Let's just all agree to not be too hard on ourselves, whether we gain too much or too little - what's important is the healthy baby at the end of it. We can always support each other after the births in trying to lose a little more if needed.

chubbyhotchoc · 02/06/2020 13:57

@RunnerGirl123 I think my issue is lack of movement as well. Doesn't help you stay healthy if you're sitting a lot. I had red spotting a few times with this when both times after a lot of walking so it has kind of put me off

peachypetite · 02/06/2020 14:04

I don’t think I’ve put much weight on, but I had such bad nausea and food aversion I’m not surprised. Wearing an old summer dress today that feels a bit snug round my belly but that’s to be expected with everything expanding! Most of my others don’t fit because they are too tight across the bust. I have bid on some linen and cotton dresses on eBay! Not sure what I’m going to wear when the weather drops to this in between stage, any ideas?!

EithneBlue · 02/06/2020 14:56

@Peachypetite ... cardigans ;-)

PipTed · 02/06/2020 15:23

My newlook order arrived today. The Denim shorts and Cotton shirt are great, fab quality, but I ordered a smock dress that is really synthetic. The dress will be going back but I’m currently sat out in the shorts that have lots of room and give. 😊

magvdamme · 02/06/2020 16:14

@pipTed my new looks due tomorrow can't wait!!! . Boohoo arrived yesterday got a lovely lounge jumpsuit super soft material and so comfy

PipTed · 02/06/2020 16:19

@magvdamme oooh treat day tomorrow! I usually love boohoo, but nothing is appealing to me on there at the moment. I did find a discount code for an extra 15% off on the 60% off sale. Think it’s just for dresses and shoes though, I’ve pasted it below:

magvdamme · 02/06/2020 16:22

@pipTed that awesome thanks lovely!! may have to have another nosey!!! Think the couriers think I have a problem lately 😂😂🙈🙈

PipTed · 02/06/2020 16:24

@magvdamme no worries. I have had to seriously curb my online shopping habit, it was getting out of control. 🙈

RunnerGirl123 · 02/06/2020 16:25

@Chubbyhotchoc ah sorry to hear you've had some spotting. Were they long or strenuous/hilly walks? It may just be better to start with a 15 min walk around the block to get some vit d and fresh air and then to build up?

chubbyhotchoc · 02/06/2020 16:29

You can get £15 off a £60 spend with this code too FINDER15

chubbyhotchoc · 02/06/2020 16:35

@RunnerGirl123 not particularly just to the local supermarket about 15 mins walk. I think I've got it into my head that walking a lot stimulates things. With my first I was super active and took all the stairs and all the hilly walks ended up with a super fast labour. Trying to slow this baby down lol

MummyShark97 · 02/06/2020 20:05

@chubbyhotchoc Hope you're okay x

RunnerGirl123 · 02/06/2020 20:18

@chubbyhotchoc ah okay, well if that's not an excuse to put your feet up and relax, I don't know what is! You could always try pregnancy yoga classes for a bit of more relaxed activity. I think any activity is good, raises the heartbeat and will work your body/burn calories and maintain a bit of balance.

chubbyhotchoc · 02/06/2020 22:03

@RunnerGirl123 @MummyShark97 thanks. I'm ok. Fc not had anything else and baby happy in there! Xx

110APiccadilly · 03/06/2020 06:46

Hi all. My goodness, I do not keep up with this thread!

I've been given a prescription for folic acid even though I'm 13 weeks now. Which is odd if you're supposed to stop taking it at 12 weeks.

Just wondering if anyone else has been asked to go back in to redo a urine (or any other) sample? I have to as the results were inconclusive so although I feel fine I could have a UTI but they're not sure. It's stressing me out a bit even though I know it's not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

firstbabybell · 03/06/2020 06:57

@110Apiccadilly I wouldn't worry. It's true you can have an symptomatic UTI in pregnancy however if you're results are inconclusive it's more likely your sample was contaminated with a bug from somewhere else that accidentally got in the bottle. They're looking for a specific type of bug that causes UTI (usually e.coli) so perhaps yours grew something else.

Top tip actually ladies - next time you have an appointment grab a spare wee bottle so if you do get symptoms of UTI in your pregnancy you have a sterile bottle ready to submit a sample.

firstbabybell · 03/06/2020 06:58

Should say "an asymptomatic UTI in pregnancy"

110APiccadilly · 03/06/2020 07:09

Thanks @firstbabybell!

I think they said there were some blood cells in the sample (and I haven't been bleeding). But it was definitely UTI they were concerned about. Going in today to redo it anyway so hopefully this one will be conclusive one way or the other!

RunnerGirl123 · 03/06/2020 07:43

I think I've got an asymptomatic UTI, doctor has put me on antibiotics for 5 days based on an infection in my urine test last week... was a complete surprise to me! But needs must. They said to call back if I still have symptoms at the end of the course, but if I didn't have any to begin with I'm not sure how I'd know! I don't know if the midwife will ask for another sample after the 16 week telephone consult?

firstbabybell · 03/06/2020 07:52

I finally bit the bullet & weighed myself this morning, I've put on 4lb, not bad at all, I thought it would be so much more.

firstbabybell · 03/06/2020 08:41

@runnergirl123 I think the main concern is it could travel up to your kidneys - pyelonephritis - in which case you may experience kidney pain or blood in your wee. Likely not to happen with your antibiotics though.

Week 16 I think they are supposed to check for protein & glucose as well as infection. First two can be a sign of pre-eclampsia & diabetes respectively.

RunnerGirl123 · 03/06/2020 08:45

@firstbabybell oh I'm totally happy to take them, was just a little surprised as I'd not had any symptoms otherwise I'd have mentioned it sooner! Just hoping the antibiotics clear it up as I'mworried I won't know otherwise!

Good luck for your scans today @nearlyamummyof3!! Enjoy it!

firstbabybell · 03/06/2020 09:00

@runnergirl123 it's weird isn't it as normally the tiniest hint of a UTI & I'm incapacitated on the loo with a hot water bottle & a litre of cranberry juice! Don't really understand why it can be asymptomatic in pregnancy. 🤷🏻‍♀️
