@pinktruffle thank you, I think I lose any logical part of thinking when pregnant. Looking forward to my dinner now 😋

Hope you’re all keeping well. In terms of clothes, I ordered a few T-shirt dresses from Boohoo - awful quality and won’t last long I’m sure, but a tenner each and next day delivery (was desperate as nothing fits!). Will bin at the end of the pregnancy I’m sure..feel awful about the landfill side of things but couldn’t find anything I liked on any other websites. Being eco friendly in other ways! ☺️

peachypetite · 01/06/2020 17:52

I don’t have any bump tbh just look a bit fat and my boobs are bigger! Luckily I never suffered with bloating other than one or two random occasions.

chubbyhotchoc · 01/06/2020 18:09

@nearlyamummyof3 I don't have high hopes for shein. Although I'm on an fb group and plenty rave on their about their shein haul. I think they're going to be too small as well as crap quality. Might do a turn next year. I just really dislike spending a lot on clothes online that I can't see and prob won't bother returning

nearlyamummyof3 · 01/06/2020 18:21

I know I've still got my SHEIN package wrapped up to go to the post office!
I do not have the energy to get there lol @chubbyhotchoc
A lot of it was very small for the sizes as well I thought.
We have a big Sainsbury's near us and the clothing section is always empty so might go there after my scan as a treat 😂

Pinktruffle · 01/06/2020 18:34

I had a quick look at Sainsbury's Tu clothing website and they had some quite nice maternity wear I thought

RestorationInsanity · 01/06/2020 18:48

Evening ladies. Hope everyone is feeling ok this evening.

Just wondered if anyone else has been instructed to use the Maternity Notes app, in place of paper notes?

Since my scan in Friday, my info has been updated with BP and urine test results but my new due date has been recorded the same as it was before, even though it's now 4 days earlier. As it's still only second trimester and a few days wrong, is it fine to just wait until my 16 week phone appointment with the midwife to correct it?

Pinktruffle · 01/06/2020 19:57

My area uses Pregnotes, all my booking info is on there but it doesn't really seem to have been updated with any other information since. It just gives me 'what to expect this week' in regards to the pregnancy and that's it.

RestorationInsanity · 01/06/2020 20:04

Ah ok. I'll just wait and tell them at the next call then.

I guess I don't feel very engaged with any of it as I haven't seen anyone face to face and I don't really like speaking on the phone (stupid I know!) I'm finding the idea of going into labour with midwives/a midwife I might never have met/spoken to slightly odd. I have a named midwife but not sure why, as she wasn't the person who did my booking in etc. I guess I've just watched too much call the midwife 😂

PipTed · 01/06/2020 20:20

@RestorationInsanity I have a login for an online notes platform. It’s really clunky and hard to find info on there but the majority of the info I need is on there. My combined test results appeared on there last week and but my blood type is still to be updated.

All the information missing, I’m going to raise with my midwife on the phone appointment next week (for 16 weeks).

For all those who are suffering with bloat; I feel you managing one meal a day with a few bits of veg and still look ginormous when I go to bed.

Bought a fan for the bedroom recently-had it on last night, what a godsend!

Amyyy1 · 02/06/2020 03:19

Is anyone else struggling to sleep lately? I am 14 weeks atm and need to go to the toilet maybe 4 times during the night but then I can not get back to sleep after even though I can feel how exhausted I am!! -.-

peachypetite · 02/06/2020 04:25

@Amyyy1 I’m awake earlier and earlier every morning too! I can’t seem to get back to sleep once I’ve been to the toilet. So

kkr168 · 02/06/2020 06:15

I was wide awake at 4am yesterday, it was a long day!!
Luckily not every day is like that, today I woke up at 6am when my husbands alarm went off otherwise I'd probably still be asleep.

RestorationInsanity · 02/06/2020 08:01

Yes! Woke up at 4 for a wee and just could not get comfortable. I seem to get round ligament pain every few days and this morning it's all twingy and crampy and stretchy on the right hand side which I don't think helped!

RunnerGirl123 · 02/06/2020 08:30

I have the early wake ups occasionally, where I just cannot sleep afterwards but feel so tired at the same time. Luckily it's not every day though!

Last night I had tummy issues so was up a few times for that, but was able to drift off in between. I'm hoping they disappear in the second trimester!

NaomiB79 · 02/06/2020 09:19

How much weight are you supposed to put on in the first 16 weeks? I’ve put on over 1 stone already and I’m worried that is too much as my BMI was on the high side when I fell pregnant.

Icantthinkofanickname123456 · 02/06/2020 09:39

@NaomiB79 I'm pretty sure I've been told you should put on about 3-4lbs in the first trimester and then 1lb a week from then on so aim to be about 7-8lbs (I might have calculated that wrong)?

I think I've put on more than that though - with the gyms closed I would have put on weight even if I wasn't pregnant - its an unusual time at the moment and I'm sure you needn't worry if you put on a little lock-down weight to go with baby-weight, just keep up with your walks/daily exercise and eat healthily - its been hard when our movement has been so restricted and all you want to do is eat all day - not just for pregnancy but out of boredom too.

chubbyhotchoc · 02/06/2020 09:40

@NaomiB79 it's really tough isn't it? I've been struggling a lot with anxiety over weight gain. I'm 14+2 and I've put on about 6 pounds but I could easily put on loads more. My bmi was already slightly high at 26 so I'm watching what I eat and try to not go beyond 2000 cals but I'm ravenous on that lol. I put on 22 pounds with my first but I was a bit thinner to start with then.

kkr168 · 02/06/2020 09:48

NHS recommend 22-26lb, with the majority gained after 20 weeks. I haven't weighed myself yet but have been trying to make better food choices. In my other pregnancy I gained 4 stone, I was naive & did the whole eating for 2 thing! I lost 2 stone very quickly after birth but really struggled to lose the other 2.

EBM20 · 02/06/2020 09:57

I wake up every night at 3.30am for the past few weeks! I'm 15+2 just started feeling little flickering in my tummy at 3.30am! I've never been one to wake early unless I had a reason to, old job never started until 2pm so most days I was in bed until 10am, I'm now awake and up by 7.30am having breakfast and I'm not working!

PipTed · 02/06/2020 10:15

@NaomiB79 I’m glad you posted this. I weighed myself yesterday and almost collapsed. I had only gained a few lbs at my 12 week scan, now I’m almost 15 weeks the lbs have piled on; id say almost 7lbs in total easily!

I’m only 5’2” and it’s really stressed me out. if things continue, I’m going to be huge!!! I was hoping to only gain 20lbs in total, at the most. 😩

Not sure how it’s happened as I’ve been walking everyday and only managing to eat one main meal, the rest I snack on fruit and veg! I’ve had a few crisps here and there, but I’m mainly being healthy.

Suppose I must try harder?! Or maybe we will level out over the next few weeks and by 20 weeks be on track?

NaomiB79 · 02/06/2020 10:20

@Icantthinkofanickname123456 @chubbyhotchoc @kkr168 thanks for your replies, that’s really helpful. I think I have put on a bit too much! I will endeavour to eat more healthily and do more exercise over the next few month so I don’t put on way more than I should by the end of my pregnancy!

PipTed · 02/06/2020 10:21

Oh I meant to add, I have been using this to track weight gain against what is recommended at each stage. I know it’s not an exact science, but might help monitor based on your own stats?

I’m definitely on the top end/over what is recommended.

EithneBlue · 02/06/2020 10:37

@PipTed -- I stopped weighing myself because I figure the number matters less than just being healthy :-) Honestly though if you are eating well and exercising I would worry.

Meanwhile I had a tiny glass of prosecco in the garden yesterday. It was complete and utter bliss.

EithneBlue · 02/06/2020 10:38

Would not worry.
I can type. Honest.

EBM20 · 02/06/2020 10:44

I'm eating like I normally would, although I throw most of it up! Not going to worry or stress about weight during pregnancy as I know that shakes work for me and I will do shakes after I've had baby. I've been doing more exercise as I would normally as I worked on a reception desk before lockdown and now I'm going on daily walks for about an hour and been going in the pool in the garden most days with nice weather
