That must have been so scary @NaomiB79! I had a bleed at 8 weeks and I remember that relief (or shock) in my case when they found a heartbeat. I'm so happy to hear things are ok and the bleeding has stopped now. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy for the rest of your pregnancy x

NaomiB79 · 04/06/2020 11:59

Thanks @Pinktruffle glad to hear the outcome for you was good too! I was desperate to hear that heartbeat! Fingers crossed there are no more worries and the rest of our pregnancy is straightforward x

Teaandbiscuits123 · 04/06/2020 12:46

Wow there has been so much activity in the last day or so! I had a quick scan of all the posts but I’m sorry if I missed anyone!

@NaomiB79 I’m sorry you had a scare and I’m glad all is ok now - I hope you’re resting up, I’m sure all the worry has zapped your energy.

I had my 16 week check yesterday which was over the phone - I haven’t seen a midwife either. Had a phone booking in at 10 weeks, bloods etc done at my 12 week scan and then the 16 week check yesterday. The midwife is lovely but I agree with others that it does all feel a bit vague. She gave me my blood test results and then just asked a few questions - my advice to all is when you speak to someone use the opportunity to ask anything you want even if it seems silly or small. I will have the 20 week scan and then see someone face to face at 25 weeks.

For those of you suffering with headaches - I had them terribly over 14/15 weeks but they seem to have settled down now so hopefully they won’t last long!

Sending long distance hugs to all!😬

Hey @Dee96, yes @chubbyhotchoc tells it like it is on the tea tree. Not recommended and your skin will be so sensitive so Cetaphil which is also something I've used post laser or chemical peel on my face is very good. This bioderma is also excellent, it calms your face too ☺️

@NaomiB79 oh my goodness my week has been fine honestly compared to what you've just experienced, I've literally just been brain dead mainlining water and paracetamol and doing very little. But I'm physically fine. And I'm feeling confident about things, I just wish and pray that someone will remove my head 🙏 and of course I am despairing at the thought of no professional head massages or haircuts on the horizon for a while 🤤😂

I would love a haircut and a short pregnancy back/ foot massage @Champoopapi!

roro87 · 04/06/2020 13:22

@Awkes sorry you've had an awful time of it with appointments etc. We are due date buddies and it is also my birthday Smile

roro87 · 04/06/2020 13:29

My dad is just the sweetest today they had maternity clothes in lidl and he went in and bought me loads of tshirts also my shorts arrived from next and they are so comfortable. I got a velvet dress from Gap and it was only 14.99 so that will do me in autumn and at Christmas as baby bump probably won't be gone fully

Awkes · 04/06/2020 13:39

@roro87 happy birthday!! 🎁🥳🥂 Hope your pregnancy is going good?!

@NaomiB79 sorry you’ve had such a bad time. Get your feet up and I’m sure everything will be fine from now on 🤞🏻

I’m with you on haircuts! Trimmed my fringe in a fit of madness and it’s awful I’ve had hair up ever since 😂 absolutely dying for hairdresser. And cannot wait for the shops to open! In desperate need for some new clothes to fit my new boobs and belly. Been online shopping for weeks but it’s all too pricey for what I want or looks awful once it turns up

Pe4nutsmum · 04/06/2020 13:39

Hey,

Hope you guys are all well.

Does anyone remember how long it took for your results to come back.

I've heard nothing from my NHS ones takes a week ago yesterday or from my harmony ones from. Friday.

I'm seriously starting to stress out.
Sickness has completely kicked up agree to the point I had to admit defeat and ask for meds from the doctors.

I've also put a two week sickline in as I wasn't coping.

@ChampooPapi lovely scan pics your wee ones are just too cute.
@nearlyamummyof3 sorry this is stressful, hopefully all is okay.

Snowwhite2020 · 04/06/2020 13:58

@Pe4nutsmum I have been on medication for sickness for well over 6 weeks now and am still taking it. There is a good group on mumsnet for hyperemesis sufferers- they are very knowledgable about medication and tips for extreme ongoing sickness. I recommend it- they have helped me a lot.

It took about a week and a half for my bloods to come back after scan but I was impatient and called the midwife and for the results on the phone after a week. I wouldn’t worry tho- I was told they will phone you fairly quickly (under a week) if bloods show anything which needs further investigation. X

Icantthinkofanickname123456 · 04/06/2020 14:12

@Pe4nutsmum my NHS nt/blood combined results came back after 1 week although I asked how long it would take in my appointment and the midwife said it varies depending on which lab accepts it with some labs taking up to a month to process at the moment given the current situation and not to worry if I dont hear back quickly. I didn't do the harmony so cant comment on that but I assume it would take a similar amount of time to process things.

Icantthinkofanickname123456 · 04/06/2020 14:13

@Pe4nutsmum and sorry to hear about the sickness - I hope you are managing to get some rest.

Pe4nutsmum · 04/06/2020 14:19

@Snowwhite2020 thank you so much, I'll take a look at that thread.
This is my third pregnancy and I love never had anything like this. I've even been waking during thr night to be sick.

@Icantthinkofanickname, thank you. My husbands been a great help. Fingers crossed I hear something soon. If not I'll give her a call tomorrow. Xxx

kkr168 · 04/06/2020 14:31

@Pe4nutsmum With my screening results I was pretty much told no news is good news, they will call you if they have spotted anything worrying. They said if all is well I would receive the paperwork anytime up to 2 weeks later, think mine arrived around day 9.

RestorationInsanity · 04/06/2020 14:44

@NaomiB79 sorry for the worry you've had, but glad scan showed baby snug and safe. Fingers crossed it will all settle down now and you can relax a little again.

I think I've been in denial about how much my body has already changed even though I don't look pregnant yet. I bought a sports bra last week after measuring. It arrived yesterday and I was shocked that it doesn't fit. Turns out my ribs and bust have increased by 1.5 inches since last week! As has my waist!

Also, being able to do your jeans up doesn't equate to be able to keep them done up comfortably all day. So I treated myself to a few bits on Dorothy Perkins, and will see if any of that fits/looks good. All my t shirts are getting too short because of the mega boobs!

chubbyhotchoc · 04/06/2020 15:32

@Pe4nutsmum with my Harmony results, I had them done Thursday morning and got them back Thursday the following week. The nhs I had last Friday and haven't heard anything yet

MummyShark97 · 04/06/2020 17:48

Not sure I'd say I've got a proper bump yet but definitely a little one there! I've been absolutely shattered and just feeling totally off today but on the whole I've been so much better recently so just taking it as it comes.

How's everyone doing today?

Kj1010 · 04/06/2020 18:08

Hi all just came on this thread I'm 41 and currently 12+2 I have my scan on tuesday I am very scared as 1 I'm a older mum so the risks are higher of downs etc 2 I'm 5ft 1 and classed as obese so extra worries there but also excited to see a heartbeat I already have 3 children and have had a miscarriage in 2018 so was scared of that happening but have passed that last point I swear I can feel flutters especially at evening time which is reasuring I have the booking in I have also got a appointment in july for birth plan appointment anyone had that yet how old are all use mommas to be if u dont mind me asking happy to come across this thread as I havent told no one I'm pregnant yet but also dont feel I want to at all either

Icantthinkofanickname123456 · 04/06/2020 18:19

Hi @Kj1010 I am pregnant with baby number 1. I am due 26th November so am now 15 weeks and have been thinking I might be feeling flutters in the evenings but then again could just as likely be gas as I have no idea hehe. I am 32.
Good luck with your scan on Tuesday! I mentioned earlier in the thread somewhere that my midwife said to me that results from tests can take a little longer to come back from the lab with everything going on at the moment and she said not to worry as they can take up to a month sometimes. I guess it all depends on your area though.

@MummyShark97 I am shattered today too - I have sat at my desk most of the day and done all of about 30 minutes of productive work. My boss has thoughtfully scheduled a meeting for me between 18.30 and 21.30 though so I may fall asleep on zoom in a moment. I may resort to chocolate to keep me awake.

kkr168 · 04/06/2020 19:12

@Kj1010 welcome to the group, I turned 35 last month

@Icantthinkofanickname123456 We are date twins Grin
