Hi! To everyone who’s been a bit worried about not showing much yet ... I had a private scan done today and the sonographer said that 1) I’m petite and quite contained so that doesn’t help and 2) (more importantly) the baby is lying quite far back. We had limited views of the baby and that was due to him/her being so deep inside towards my back. Which makes a lot of sense re not showing and also location of weird twinges. I think the 15-20 week time must be really variable for first time mums in terms of showing.

seventhrow · 31/05/2020 15:22

@mOmShanti yes on the tiredness. It’s so boring. And now there’s the heat as well! I had too many occasions where I’d get super excited about having more energy, would do some exercise or loads of chores, and spend the entire evening on the sofa exhausted to the point of tears paying for it. Am really suffering for it as there’s not much to do in lockdown anyway....

OurLittlePumpkin · 31/05/2020 15:26

Anyone not feel pregnant today? I've been the complete opposite of my usual self. I've been reporting plants, on my hands and knees in dirt, digging, not wanted to rest at all. Still have the sore boobs and pain in legs and butt (sciatica pains have been a real issue for me) but aside from that feel fine and dandy. Not really a bump today, seems to have flattened. I'm 16+3. Obviously I can't just accept that I feel OK today and so I've come to mumsnet to see if anything could be wrong 😂😂

OurLittlePumpkin · 31/05/2020 15:26

Re-potting*

NatalieH2220 · 31/05/2020 15:30

@OurLittlePumpkin yes! My symptoms have disappeared over the last few days and I'm finding myself forgetting I'm pregnant sometimes. Still have 2 weeks until my next scan so trying not to worry and just remind myself it's normal to feel better as the weeks go on. I remember the same happening with my son around this time too.

Addler · 31/05/2020 16:18

A new high for me today. Went on a socially distanced picnic with DP and my sister who I haven't seen since February, was having a lovely time until it came to the point where I was vomiting into a plastic food container in the middle of the park.

MrsR87 · 31/05/2020 16:26

@Addler

Oh bless you. I really think they need to open public toilets soon...it’s really not helpful to us pregnant ladies, not to mention those with health conditions!

And to all the ladies who are feeling the tiredness...I am exhausted all the time. I feel quite blessed in some ways to be pregnant in lockdown as I usually do around a 60 hour weeks whereas I am currently only doing around 37. I’m struggling to get up in the morning and don’t have the motivation to do anything beyond what’s necessary, which is the total opposite of how I usually am today. I thought I’d make the most of it being a Sunday so did the ironing, polished in all rooms and cleaned the toilets and sinks in all the bathrooms...I now feel like I am dying!😂😂😂. Sat on the sofa with some iced water and not planning on moving for the foreseeable!

FlashesOfRage · 31/05/2020 17:22

Hi all! Hope you’re having a nice sunny day where you are and not too uncomfortable yet! X

Question:
I’m 18wks tomorrow (w/ twins) and for the last week when I do more than 20mins walking (or less if it’s going uphill or chores around the house/garden bending etc) then I get what feels like groin strain. It feels like I’ve pulled a muscle at the very top of my inner thigh and all pelvic movements become a bit sore and wonky.

Is this what pubic symphysis dysfunction starts like? Or maybe I genuinely pulled a muscle 😂 xx

Thanks x

HarrietM87 · 31/05/2020 19:36

@Pink15 I had one of those apps in my last pregnancy but pretty sure you have to be well into your third trimester for them to work! I still have the recordings of DS’s heart saved. I’d never buy a Doppler though - I know I’d end up checking and freaking myself out all the time.

Re body changes, I feel really fat but still don’t think I look pregnant! I can fit into all my clothes but they look shit. It’s mainly because my boobs have grown so much (3 cup sizes) and my tummy looks fat rather than bump. I’m pear shaped and small chested normally so I feel like the fat bits are still fat and now the thin bits are too 🤣. I’ll be fine once I’ve got a proper bump!

littlegem84 · 01/06/2020 08:25

@Flashesofrage that was me last week, it seems to have subsided now, I think it was stretching and over exerting. Try and keep it log and hopefully it will go 😀

Iona1985 · 01/06/2020 16:13

I'm due 29th Nov and I'm 14+1 but my bump is quite large already- does anyone else have a larger bump? People seem to have flat stomachs when I look online and I'm not having twins!

Hancock2020 · 01/06/2020 16:40

@Iona1985 I've got a large bump too

Well I'm going to be stressed for the next 2 days, I've just had an email from work to tell me I'll find out on wednesday if im being made redundant, they obviously have already decided who's closing down so why make us wait!
Dont need this, my mortgage application has gone In today as well!

IAmSeriousAndDontCallMeShirley · 01/06/2020 16:42

Iona1985
I have a pretty decent bump (15 weeks)
It's my third. So have been showing since really really early on!
But much more defined bump like now than early weeks. Also not having twins!

I know a lot of it depends on individual anatomy, the uterus can have a forward tilt in some women so they show sooner.

There's huge variation in pregnancy shape etc, embrace the bump 😀

Pinktruffle · 01/06/2020 16:57

Could it be bloat @Iona1985? I'm a couple of days ahead of you (14+4) and naturally quite petite but by the evening I look like I'm 20 odd weeks and my skin hurts its stretch hed so tightly over my belly. It tends to have gone down a little by the morning but I'm still big, however, I can feel that baby is lower than the big belly.

MrsR87 · 01/06/2020 17:03

Oh no @Hancock2020 that sucks! It’s annoying that they are making you wait! I’d say try not to worry, but if you’re anything like me, I know you will! Just remember, it’s out of your hands, there’s nothing you can do so there’s no point in stressing! Try and do something nice for yourself later! X

Hancock2020 · 01/06/2020 17:12

I'm just so worried because my husband and I work in the same place, if it closes we literally lose everything! Our jobs, cars, anywhere to live, literally everything 😔😫

Iona1985 · 01/06/2020 17:13

Thanks! That makes me feel better! I can’t remember what friends looked like at 3 months... I think that must be it

Iona1985 · 01/06/2020 17:14

Yes @Pinktruffle I find I’m bigger in the evening than the morning. I keep forgetting then catching myself in windows!

seventhrow · 01/06/2020 17:29

@Iona1985 just echoing the bloat comment! I was big with bloat at 13-15 weeks then the bloat disappeared and I got worried at having not much bump, then a real bump started at 17 weeks.

Pink15 · 01/06/2020 17:34

@Hancock2020 do your employer know you're pregnant?

Hancock2020 · 01/06/2020 18:08

@Pink15 well my husband is my GM, and our area manager knows but no body in head office knows because they aren't working, I'm before 25 weeks as well so I'm screwed.
I'm just praying that we stay open.

Hlb278 · 01/06/2020 18:13

@FlashesOfRage I have found after a long or particularly brisk walk, my upper inner leg joints feel very loose and a little bit clicky and achey- I’ve put this down to ligaments loosening all over during pregnancy- Feels like my joints are really grinding up in my leg sockets! Pretty sure I’ve read about this being quite common...maybe it’s just that?

Pink15 · 01/06/2020 19:27

@Hancock2020 I'm not an expert and know there are lots of lawyers on this thread but I'd have thought they'd be less likely to furlough a pregnant member of staff? Hopefully they'll stay open though. Good luck weds!

Pink15 · 01/06/2020 19:28

Not furlough sorry redundant *

Hancock2020 · 01/06/2020 19:30

Like I say the company doesnt know I'm pregnant, and either way it wouldn't matter if they decide to close the business
