I had my 16 week apt today, which was face to face (in scotland). They checked urine and BP, and went over my booking in blood results, she did say I would have been contacted by phone if anything had shown in them.
She also gave me my whooping cough vaccine, she gave me the choice to have it today or wait until another apt and said it could be done between now and 32 weeks.
25 week apt is currently a tel apt with a face to face apt at 28 weeks although she did say that might change depending on Covid guidelines.

I've not really put on weight but my body is definitely changing. I lost about 7lbs during first trimester due to reduced appetite, have put that back on now but stayed the same weight for the past 3 weeks. However I've just taken a pic this morning wearing the same dress I wore 3 weeks ago and there is such a difference! I find it all bizarre too, I've always been relatively slim and had a flat stomach so for that to be disappearing I find odd and have had a bit of a tough time so far accepting I'm actually pregnant (despite having been actively TTC). Seeing the changes is really helping me mentally now actually and I'm in awe of what my body is doing, making and looking after a baby 🥰

BuffaloCauliflower · 30/05/2020 13:44

Got some maternity jeans (bump is barely there yet but just enough that no trousers do up) and they’re sooo comfy but clearly made for someone significantly taller than me cause they’re rolled up 3 times and the soft belly band bit comes up past my boobs. I’ve got it folded down 😂

Hancock2020 · 30/05/2020 16:49

Not the healthiest thing in the world but are we allowed kebabs? I really fancy one??

littlegem84 · 30/05/2020 19:10

@Hancock2020 there's no reason why not, as long as you get it somewhere with assent hygiene rating.

Hancock2020 · 30/05/2020 19:59

I caved and got one lol

Pink15 · 30/05/2020 20:39

As an anxious person I know I shouldn't even be contemplating this... but has anyone tried those apps where you hold the phone to your belly to hear the heart beat??

AnxiousLady1 · 30/05/2020 20:55

@Pink15 I didn't even know that was a thing! I think I'd just panic myself if I couldn't get it to work properly. That's why I avoided a home dopplar. I'm also an anxious person (clue is in the name 😂). But I've a face to face appointment next week at 18 weeks so I'm going to ask them to check heartbeat then. My anomaly scan isn't until 22 weeks 🙄

Pink15 · 30/05/2020 21:20

@AnxiousLady1 22 weeks is late!! After my dating scan it had a note on that said 20 week scan needs to be done by x date... which was 20+6 so I assumed it had to be done before then? Maybe just different trust policies

AnxiousLady1 · 30/05/2020 21:34

@Pink15 I think it needs to be between 18 and 22 weeks. Officially my scan is at 21+5 so at the later end! My Trust goes with the approach of more showing up nearer the 22 week mark I think. But yeah, 10 weeks between scans is painful!! I don't want to do a private one after previous MMC. They aren't equipped to handle bad news well IMO.

Hancock2020 · 30/05/2020 21:39

@Pink15 is that real I've never heard of an app that can do that?

MrsR87 · 30/05/2020 21:41

@Hancock2020
I had one last week...I really wanted one. Didn’t even cross my mind that it wouldn’t be okay. It’s all cooked so I can’t see why not. As someone’s already said, just make sure the place has a decent hygiene rating.

SqidgeBum · 30/05/2020 22:00

A few of my friends from my NCT group got a doppler during their pregnancy. It resulted in many of them rushing to triage in a panic when they couldn't find a heartbeat. My DD was notorious for hiding. Even the midwives struggled to get a heartbeat when they checked. I will just be watching for kicks when they get more established (I think I am feeling quite strong flutters now).

Spoons1988 · 30/05/2020 22:57

Hi all, getting on ok here. No bump and just looking terribly bloated...!

On the Doppler front - I’m going to be a boring midwife and say don’t do it. I’ve been listening in weekly at work since about 9 weeks and this last week I had a panic because I couldn’t find it. Spent a sleepless night convincing myself the worst things. Tried again the next day and really had to dig around and eventually found it. It’s something I’ve done a million times and they really can sometimes be awkward to find and cause so much worry! It’s also so important that you never rely on a Doppler for reassurance at the risk of belittling other things you’re experiencing (reduced movements, pain, bleeding etc). I’ve made a promise to myself I won’t do it anymore!

Also really saddened to hear about the poor maternity care a lot of you are experiencing. It’s an anxious process without the added problem of difficult/absent communication with midwives. Have any of your Trusts developed online services for support? I know my Trust have created a Facebook page where you can ask a midwife anything and get a timely response, for example.

Anyone else back to getting wild dreams/nightmares again?

They were really something else weeks 8-11 but they subsided, I'm now 16 weeks and they are back, worse than before. I'm getting maybe an hour/90 mins sleep at a time before waking up with the sweats/heart pounding.

LozEliza · 31/05/2020 08:37

I think I'm steering clear of Dopplers I know I'll become obsessed and worry myself crazy if I can't find anything. Not sure about the phone apps either as most seem to have very mixed reviews.

I think I felt baby move for the first time last night! I was completely relaxed and suddenly felt 3 little pops/taps below my belly button like nothing I've felt before and then sort of sweeping movements. It made me feel quite emotional. But I haven't had anything since just waiting for something else now lol. I'm 17 weeks today for reference.

BeMorePacific · 31/05/2020 09:29

@wannabebump I’m having the worst nightmares imaginable. Involving horrific things happening to me, my son, my family. It is beyond awful.
I think it’s the added stress of lockdown, and pregnancy. But they’re awful.
xx

wannabebump · 31/05/2020 09:46

@BeMorePacific im the exact same! It's awful isn't it...hope it passes for us x

Pink15 · 31/05/2020 12:52

@Hancock2020 yeah these silly adverts keep popping up saying you can listen to the heart beat by your phone. Think I will stay clear though as it'll stress me out!!

Pink15 · 31/05/2020 12:54

I'm normally a tummy sleeper but now when I lie on my tummy I can feel a lump where my bump is so have avoided that and Instead slept on my sides. But I now keep waking up on my back!!! I hated back sleeping before pregnancy but I think I naturally turn from my side to back as can't go side to front anymore. So annoying as it's not something I even did before Angry

@wannabebump @BeMorePacific I'm the same, I've had dreams ranging from the hilariously bizarre to awful ones where DP and I break up and are awful to each other.

This morning I watched a docufilm on Netflix called Pick Of The Litter which follows 5 guide dogs in training from birth to being certified and I spent literally over an hour sobbing. It was not a good idea Hmm

mOmShanti · 31/05/2020 14:24

@60sPony thanks for telling me that having the anti D jab is so simple Flowers

Hancock2020 · 31/05/2020 14:25

Dear god, I just cried because I needed to clean the bathroom 🙄

mOmShanti · 31/05/2020 14:31

Yes yes yes to the nightmares! Didn’t help that my DH and I randomly drove past my EX fiancé (who u hadn’t seen for 8 years) on the way home from my last antenatal blood test! That honestly gave me nightmares that night 🤣

Anyone else having days where they’re just exhausted despite doing VERY little? I have some days where I can’t get out of bed.

I’m not sure I’m feeling much movement yet either. I’m a FTM at 17+1 today and I’m anxious to feel definitive movement. It’s so easy to freak out ☹️
