Hi, I've been watching but thought I'd join in now I know I'm having a healthy little girl! 😍
I'm almost 18 weeks now and think I felt her kick earlier, it felt like quite hard kick too! it was so exciting!

BabyKnighty1 · 19/06/2020 21:44

The kicks are So cool right. I’m 19+3 and they are starting to get a lot stronger

Sweetpea1985 · 19/06/2020 21:54

I've been unsure if ive been feeling kicks for about a week now because I was waiting for the flutters first, but this was definitely not wind movement lol I just wasnt expecting it lol

Pink15 · 19/06/2020 21:57

I can feel twitching I would describe it as 😂

SqidgeBum · 19/06/2020 21:57

My kicks have really gone up a notch in the past week or so. Now I can feel some of them on the outside, and she keeps hitting my bladder when she jumps. I can really tell when she is awake and asleep now. 10:30pm is an awake time.

Sweetpea1985 · 19/06/2020 22:04

I was only saying to DH earlier shouldnt I be feeling something by now lol.
@Squidgebum I'm hoping she stays away from my bladder tbh I already go to the loo way too often for my liking

SqidgeBum · 19/06/2020 22:09

ooooh just wait til she gets bigger and you are walking around and she just whacks the bladder really hard and you get this sudden intense feeling of just about to pee. I am a little further on than you, 20+4, and its also my second.

Sweetpea1985 · 19/06/2020 22:10

So much to look forward to 😂

HarrietM87 · 19/06/2020 22:11

I had my 20 week scan today, all good! The baby was kicking so hard the sonographer could feel it on the outside! My placenta is anterior this time but she said it’s very high so the baby isn’t actually kicking into it at the moment. Hope it stays that way as really want to avoid a back to back labour if I can. I’ve swapped to home birth team so the rest of my appointments will all be at home now which is nice.

SqidgeBum · 20/06/2020 16:15

Has anyone still been having period like pains? I am 20+5 and have been feeling sore most of the day. I cant tell if its stretching pains or something else. I havent had any blood but I am a little worried as I havwnt felt pains for a good 8 weeks now.

Pumpkin108 · 20/06/2020 16:25

@SqidgeBum yes I have! Had a really bad bout of cramps and soreness last weekend and get it on and off... I’m 19+1. I assumed it was stretching.. maybe contact your midwife if it gets worse?

Sweetpea1985 · 20/06/2020 17:48

@SqidgeBum yes I get that quite alot but everything seems fine with baby 🤷‍♀️

OurLittlePumpkin · 20/06/2020 19:00

Yes I've had period pain like feelings. No blood throughout so far. Baby is kicking and feels like little waves in lower tummy. So amazing. He or she is awake around 2pm-5pm ♥️. I'm 19+2

Pink15 · 20/06/2020 19:08

How's everyone feeling about going out shopping in terms of coronavirus for prams and clothes etc? My work has changed my job completely for me so I can work at home. I feel guilty going out shopping as work have been so accommodating I'll feel stupid if I pick up the virus in a shopping centre!

Sweetpea1985 · 20/06/2020 19:17

I've been out today and to be honest the measures in place are really good everywhere I've been. As long as you take some responsibility yourself and stay away from people and make sure you keep sanitizing.
But we cant stay couped up forever

OurLittlePumpkin · 20/06/2020 19:21

I've been out today and I'm very ocd and careful, I found it fine. Wear a mask, bring sanitiser and just don't go near anyone/don't touch anything without sanitising. Wash hands when you get home. You'll be fine. As mentioned above we can't stay in forever and we have to move on at some point, but obviously safely and cautiously!

MrsR87 · 20/06/2020 19:41

@FudgeFlies
I’ve also been told I have low PAPP-A and have extra scans booked in for Sept/Oct time. I haven’t been prescribed anything though. They didn’t even tell me how low it was and it’s not on my notes!

HarrietM87 · 20/06/2020 19:47

I haven’t been in a shop since mid March! I was on immune suppressants for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy so had to shield. I could go out now but we’ve got used to having everything delivered and I’m wfh. Weirdly haven’t missed it at all!

I really miss going out to eat though, and seeing friends and family 🙁

Becca65 · 20/06/2020 20:07

I felt the same - my work have kept me really safe so I didn't want to take the mick going out and about. I have been to a couple of shops just before they shut and are really quiet this last week when they've had baby events on. I think some pram places are still operating on an appointment only system near is where you won't be around others, but luckily we got a hand me down one - would hate to think how many appointments we'd have needed to make otherwise, we're both painfully indecisive!! (Not to mention clueless!)

Sweetpea1985 · 20/06/2020 20:42

I've just been looking at next to me cribs, and I've found one in smyths which is a babylo one, and then theres the chicco one. Has anybody any experience of these? The chicco is almost twice the price of the babylo one and seems to do the same thing??

HarrietM87 · 20/06/2020 21:16

@Sweetpea1985 we had the chicco one for DS and will use it again (with new mattress). It was great! Not heard of Babylo but the chicco is definitely tried and tested - think it’s been around for years and everyone I know had that or the snuzpod (chicco is bigger so lasts bit longer). My in laws bought ours for us but if I was doing it again I’d get one secondhand with a new mattress as all the fabric parts are fully washable.

biscuit13 · 20/06/2020 22:04

Hi I've been wanting to join this thread, I'm due 4th november, so I'm currently 20+3 and it's our first baby. Also we're not finding out what we're having 😊 have felt some really strong kicks the last few days which I LOVE!
Had my 20 week scan on wednesday just gone and everything was fine with the baby (huge relief as I was so nervous) but she said the placenta was anterior and really close to the birth canal? So I have to go and have another scan at 34 weeks to see if its moved. So although I'm not too worried, it's in the back of my mind.
Also is anything thinking about getting a baby breathing monitor? Like an owlet or Nanit? Or am I just being over the top? 🙈

BumpityBumpo · 20/06/2020 22:09

Thats reassuring to know @HarrietM87, just jumping in, sorry. I recently had someone asking about what he is going to sleep in and said I'll be starting with a next2me or similar and got told not to bother as they're a waste and rubbish. Apparently I'm building a rod for my own back as I'll never get him in a cot when it comes to it and have nothing but trouble.
I shrugged it off with the thought that they're so popular they can't be as awful as she said, but I can't deny that it has been playing on my mind!

Sweetpea1985 · 20/06/2020 22:45

@biscuit13 I've been looking at the angelcare monitor as I was born with heart problems so am worried about this one maybe having them as well but then I've just read the reviews and they arent so great so not really sure what other makes to look at, cant really afford owlet kind of prices.
But I agree the breathing monitor ones are a really good idea even just for peace of mind

Sweetpea1985 · 20/06/2020 22:58

However, ive just been doing more reading and pediatric doctors are saying they arent good, they dont help prevent cot deaths and the false alarms they sometimes give can create even more anxiety in the parents??
So torn what to do 🤔🤷‍♀️
