@Becca65 I was similar to you and wanted the closest one, so I chose a class for due dates later than mine actually was (only by a few weeks). In the end I was 12 days overdue and most of the others in the group were early so babies were all born at similar time. I agree with SquidgeBum - get in touch with them and see what they advise.

Fouryearslater · 18/06/2020 18:33

NCT was definitely useful for me. Not only is it a nice network of friends (most of us still in touch almost 4 years on, one just went a bit radio silent on us 🤷‍♀️) but I would have absolutely bricked it going into theatre for emergency c section without having had the session on it and being warned that there would be a billion people around. But the friends and support group are invaluable.

@Pink15 the flip xt3 does have an adjustable handle bar same way as the Ocarro they both literally have identical mechanisms for everything. The only difference is the materials they're made from. I am jealous though cause my SIL is going for the Ocarro (she's stronger and bigger than me and it suits her life style more because she does a lot of woodland walks with the dog)

Pink15 · 18/06/2020 21:12

@LozEliza oh okay fair enough must have got that confused with another pram! That's worth knowing though as there seems to be better deals on the flipxt3 than the ocarro!

Wise0wl · 18/06/2020 23:20

@HarrietM87 I’m also in London with a narrow hallway and have been looking at prams that fold up relatively small. Do you mind sharing what you went with before (and if you’d recommend?)

Bluebell2020 · 19/06/2020 06:53

Has anyone else had really bad back pain? It's so bad today that I've had to call in sick and work are going to be so mad at me. I'm really struggling to walk though. It's definitely not weight related. Hoping to speak to the midwife today.

Pcosandpregnant · 19/06/2020 08:28

I found out that I’m having a boy Smile makes it feel so real now!

wannabebump · 19/06/2020 08:33

@Bluebell2020 I've struggled with back pain but only at my lower right hand side, agony in bed and to get but eases off once I'm up. Have you maybe twisted it and it's non-pregnancy related? Paracetamol to take the edge off might help. Sorry your work will be mad xx

@Pcosandpregnant congrats!x

@Pcosandpregnant Congratulations! I'm guessing that everything else was ok, so that's great too. Is this your first?

HarrietM87 · 19/06/2020 08:40

@Wise0wl I got the bugaboo bee. I love it! I also considered the babyzen yoyo and uppababy cruz (everyone I know has one of those 3). Babyzen is smaller and lighter but the handlebars aren’t adjustable (DH is tall) and crucially for me you can’t parent face after 6 months. DS is still parent facing now at 2 and I love chatting to him in the pram so really glad I didn’t go with that. The uppababy is higher off the ground than both bee and yoyo which I liked, but it’s also bigger and heavier. I’ve been so happy with the bee - perfect for buses and tubes, before lockdown and pregnancy I could carry it with DS in it up and down tube steps even as a heavy 20 month old, and though the wheels are small we’ve taken it for loads of muddy forest walks and it’s been fine. We have a narrow terrace hallway and it fits down it easily. We actually leave it opened up parked at the end of the hall but it folds small in one piece.

Bluebell2020 · 19/06/2020 08:50

@wannabebump Mine is like lower left at the top of my bum. It's constantly there but then I also get a really sharp pain when I move. When I'm lay still and not moving it's much better. I've had it for 4/5 weeks but gradually getting worse so I'm sure it's pregnancy related. When it's at it's worse I can't put weight on my left leg without it really hurting! What a nightmare. Tried paracetamol but that doesn't seem to do anything. Really don't want to take anything stronger.

Also just to join in the pram discussion. . . I've bought the Uppababy Vista V2 and love it! Obviously not used it yet so who knows how good it actually is but had loads of good reviews and has all the features I'd want in a pram :)

Oatmilk1 · 19/06/2020 09:08

Regarding prams:

I was also looking for something small and have settled on Bugaboo Ant which is a newish model that is pitched as main Yoyo competitor. You can parent face after 6 months unlike yoyo but is a few extra steps to fold. Fits in plane overhead compartment (which was key for me) and is cheaper than yoyo.

Anyone who knows it, I would still love feedback as it doesn't seem to be heavily used.

MillieFTM · 19/06/2020 09:37

Ref upper leg/lower back pain, Ive had sciatica in the past and the only thing I found would help is stretching. Hurts like buggery but feels so much better after (for a while). If you search on YouTube there are lots of videos for sciatica pain stretching.

StephRae · 19/06/2020 09:44

Hi all! Bit late to this thread but currently 17 weeks with twins (due 23rd November) ❤️ This is my 2nd pregnancy and already don’t think the bump is not much smaller than when I was full term with my daughter so safe to say I feel huge 😂

HarrietM87 · 19/06/2020 09:46

@Oatmilk1 I’ve seen the bugaboo ant and it is super small and nippy! However I thought it was marketed more as a travel pram? Have you seen it in real life? I’m not sure it’s sturdy/comfy enough to be your only/everyday pram. Just my opinion obviously! I’d recommend you having a look at some in real life if you can.

Oatmilk1 · 19/06/2020 10:02

@HarrietM87

We havent looked in person yet but will a bit later (once we sort out moving house!). That was definitely a concern I had about the Yoyo when I first started looking at it but was generally assured that it was fine and my feeling was the ant would be similar. However we are now moving from a small flat to a house so maybe my needs will change too!

I am kind of trying to avoid buying a chunky newborn pram and then changing it for something small at 6 months anyway which I hear a lot of people do.

Pcosandpregnant · 19/06/2020 10:07

@Becca65 I went for a private scan and she showed his heart, brain legs etc and she said everything looks fine! My 20 weeks scan is in a few weeks so I will find out more then. It was lovely to see baby as even now I still worry that I’m dreaming Grin it was nice for my fiancé to be there too as he couldn’t come to the 12 week scan. Yes this is my first.

HarrietM87 · 19/06/2020 10:26

@Oatmilk1 it’s significantly smaller than the yoyo and feels it too, so definitely check it out. A friend was going to get it for the same reasons as you but decided against it. No one I know with a yoyo, Cruz or bee has changed for something lighter at 6 months - those are all small “city” prams but designed for long term use. I think there’s also an ergobaby pram that’s small and light, so could be worth checking that out too.

Oatmilk1 · 19/06/2020 10:54

@HarrietM87
Cheers. Will check it out.

MeandSpud · 19/06/2020 11:07

@Bluebell2020, I suffer with exactly the same backpain (same part of back, can't stand up if I try to put all of my weight on my left leg etc.) - I suffered with it pre-pregnancy too though (on and off for about 10 years) and am cursing myself for not dealing with it and seeing a physio before getting pregnant! I believe stretching it helps, but I tend to avoid stretching too much in case I do some kind of stretch that makes it worse!

LozEliza · 19/06/2020 12:28

@bluebell2020 I've been having a similar pain in the same place although on and off and not to that extent. Sometimes it's triggered when I sneeze and then any movement I make after that is agony for a while until it eases off again

The worst thing for me has been boob pain. It's not so bad in the day but jeez in the night they hurt so much sometimes I wake up with the pain. I'm working from home so rarely wearing a bra in the day but the days when I do wear a bra seen to make it even worse! I've got small boobs so I'm surprised tbh.

OurLittlePumpkin · 19/06/2020 13:10

I've noticed two small but noticeable stretch marks on the front below belly button.......and it begins 😂 knew it'd happen as my Mum had them with both myself and my brother at around the half way point.
I've been using creams and oils just because they feel nice but it is most certainly genetic 😜

Bluebell2020 · 19/06/2020 13:26

Just a quick update on my back pain. Spoke to midwife and GP and been referred to physio. Physio have already rang and done a consultation and diagnosed the pain as PGP and done me a therapy plan which is brilliant. Got to give it a go for a week and if no change to pain then got to go in for a face to face with physio!

Glad to know I'm not alone in this!

Wise0wl · 19/06/2020 20:03

@HarrietM87 thanks so much. I’d slightly set my heart on a Bee so it’s great to hear your review (and that it does work well for London!)

FudgeFlies · 19/06/2020 20:39

I’ve also been prescribed aspirin (75mg) due to a low PAPP-A result.

Also been having back twinges or spasms in my lower right back/down into my bum and occasionally turns into an ache. Hoping it doesn’t get worse!
