Nope, they said I'll get paid for my work that I did Tuesday but I'm not holding my breath, but will recieve furlough until the end of july from old place as this was promised to us and then I'll recieve redundancy pay which will cover August costs, but its just after that I'm worried about. Even Dh is struggling to get work. I'm just struggling now, this constant stress is no good for me or baby.

Clove20 · 11/06/2020 14:07

@pink15 thank you, I will try the local honey.

I think my GP is being over cautious x

MoreGinPlease2020 · 11/06/2020 14:13

@Clove20 My GP said they'd prescribe anti histamines if nothing else was working. Thankfully with the change in weather and some decent nasal spray and eye drops I've not been too bad. Maybe go back to say you're still suffering?

littlegem84 · 11/06/2020 15:25

@Clove20 have you had a look at HayMax? It's suitable for babies pre-antihistamine age so might be ok for you?

JJxo · 11/06/2020 15:54

@HarrietM87 aw that’s so lovely, I’ve had lots of movement this week too but he seems to stop as soon as hubby runs over to feel!

Think I’m having one of those weeks where my emotional resilience supply is running low. I’m so disappointed that hubby won’t have been able to attend either scan, I understand why it’s in place but it’s just as much their right to see little one wriggling around on the screen!

Clove20 · 11/06/2020 19:12

@moreginplease2020 luckily it's rained today so I am feeling some relief.

I will ask them again once pollen counts back up, I have no doubt I'll be suffering still x

Clove20 · 11/06/2020 19:15

@littlegem84

I have the hay max which I use daily.
I also use the Lloyds pharmacy allergy reliever which is like a uv light up my nose.

Sometimes I make ginger tea with fresh ginger and at that point it's because I'm desperate:'(

MoreGinPlease2020 · 11/06/2020 19:36

@Clove20 Check that the Lloyds nasal spray actually has an active ingredient. Sounds stupid but I was using the Boots one and when the GP asked me what was in it (because I said it wasn't helping), I checked the info and it's just a mint spray. It's no wonder it wasn't doing anything!

Hancock2020 · 11/06/2020 21:07

I'm 16+3 and though as this is number 3 I'd be feeling something going on in there but nothing yet. In just worried all my stressing has caused an issue,I know its early but I just thought with it being number 3 I would have felt something

FudgeFlies · 11/06/2020 21:27

@hancock2020 I’m 19+1 and can’t feel anything yet. Sometimes I think I’ve felt something but I think it’s wind to be honest. I have an anterior placenta though, could be the same for you? I’m sure I’ve read up to 24 weeks to feel first movements x

NatalieH2220 · 12/06/2020 06:45

No movements here yet either (16+4). I'm going to ask at my private scan on Saturday if I have an anterior placenta again. Didn't feel movements until just before 20 weeks due to this last time.

Murphy1999 · 12/06/2020 08:05

@Hancock2020 I would try not to worry ab or it it every pregnancy is completely different x

Hancock2020 · 12/06/2020 10:09

Thank you ladies that's put my mind at rest a bit.
I'm not even sure where my placenta is, they didn't say at my scan might be worth asking next time.

Murphy1999 · 12/06/2020 13:24

Hey guys I'm wondering if any off you can help, I've been following a skincare routine from the products I've had in the house and some new ones, I never realised/thought that some products would be unsafe to the baby etc and now I'm quite worried, I'm just wondering all your thoughts ? Thanks

Pink15 · 12/06/2020 13:28

@Murphy1999 what types of products are they? I think most creams etc just go in superficially to your skin rather than spread round the body to baby. My guess would be risk is tiny. I didn't even bother checking my face wash and moisturiser etc. And to be honest now we're in second trimester it will definitely be fine, all the organs are now formed they just have to grow :) most things are more dangerous in first trimester xx

Murphy1999 · 12/06/2020 13:31

@Pink15 thank you, it's mostly just cleansers, timers and moisturisers I use and every few days a face mask usually, I've always been spotty so I need to keep up my skincare, I never gave it a second thought until someone mentioned it to me and me being me I panicked and have been googling for ages but nothing really clear online x

Murphy1999 · 12/06/2020 13:32

Toners**

Pink15 · 12/06/2020 13:43

@Murphy1999 no I'm sure it's fine!! If it was a major concern it'd be well known advice and on the nhs website! Try not to stress but know it's difficult when it's your baby!

Murphy1999 · 12/06/2020 14:08

@Pink15 I know 🙈 thanks so much I was wondering why I had never heard anything about it before as this is baby no 2 lol x

AnxiousLady1 · 12/06/2020 14:08

@Murphy1999 I'd a similar panic a few weeks back. Immediately stopped using my regular skincare routine. Did a fair bit of research and the consensus was that retinoids can be problematic, but these would be ones perhaps prescribed orally. So if you were taking prescription medication for your skin. But even at this, there are little to no case studies. I followed up and asked my MW at my 16 week appointment and she admitted she had never even heard of skincare products being an issue, and said anything topical is fine. So don't worry.

Pinktruffle · 12/06/2020 14:14

Most cleansers are fine and most ingredients are fine in pregnancy @murphy1999. The only ingredient which is unanimously a huge no-no is retinol (Vitamin A). There is a dermatologist on Instagram Dr Anjali Mahto ( @anjalimahto) who did a really comprehensive post on skincare in pregnancy.

Murphy1999 · 12/06/2020 14:14

@AnxiousLady1 thank you, I was thinking off calling my midwife to see but I know she's on holiday so would just get a random one
I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a little worry
I'm not on prescribed skincare it is just shop bought so I didn't think there would be much harm from that x

Murphy1999 · 12/06/2020 14:15

@Pinktruffle thank you, I don't think any off my products have vitamin a in them I have been checking them lol it is just basics nothing to fancy x

HarrietM87 · 12/06/2020 16:18

@Murphy1999 I’ve seen that anything with salicylic acid isn’t recommended either, because that’s aspirin. But (a) you’re not ingesting it and (b) loads of women are prescribed aspirin in pregnancy anyway.

Agree with @Pinktruffle you should steer clear of retinol though to be safe.

Pink15 · 12/06/2020 16:26

Anyone got any good resources for nursery inspiration? Ive tried Pinterest and google etc but everything seems to be super modern with light woods/plants, jungle themed or grey themed! I do want a bit of colour and also kinda cute themed - I remember looking in the Argos catalogues when I was younger loving the nursery decor as it was so adorable but everything now seems so trendy! I want cute traditional fairly neutral but with some light colours. I'm rubbish at interior design - I know what I want but find it very hard to think of myself !
