Hey everyone!!! I know I’m super early as I’m 12dpo but I’ve finally had my “pregnant” on clear blue digital and I’m over the moon. I’ve been trying to tell myself not to get tooo excited as I had a chemical pregnancy in March but, too late haha. I’m so excited and happy! May as well be positive about it..

Anyone else just found out they’re pregnant and due in February 2021? The NHS due date calculator puts at the 3rd February. What’s your symptoms been so far ?

Xx

Hi all I got BFP and am due Feb by my calculations. I have a 2.5 year old daughter and am so excited to give her a sibling. DH still very shocked that TTC happened so quickly so don't want to tell family until he's got his head around it! Also worried it may be twins (would have loved this if first child but don't want 3 in total!) so may get an early scan to check! Not heard from midwife but can't remember how long it took last time.

Would love to hear from some second time mums, first labour was very traumatic and very nervous about going through it again!

Congratulations all on your BFP it's such a special and exciting time :)

Ps people were talking about cute announcements- I'm thinking of getting a t shirt saying 'I'm going to be a big sister' for DD to wear!

lydiangel83 · 04/06/2020 07:22

@harper04 @indigojam 2nd time here too with 2.5 year old daughter :)

JemimaFuddleFuck · 04/06/2020 07:27

@Feelinghopeful4 I do struggle with the secret! It’s lovely news and you’re walking on cloud 9 so just want to tell everyone.

@lydiangel83 congrats! Baby number 2 here too. Yes my first labour was awful and ended in EMCS. DC1 weighed 11lb 3oz and lots of issues during labour so I’m opting for an elective c-section this time around. Also pleased it will give me an actual date for having the baby because I was 12 days over first time around.

Mermaidlagoon · 04/06/2020 07:32

Yes I think I'm going to tell my boss after the early scan, I'm furloughed at the minute but she's on about me going back some time in July/August at least part time and then more hours as work picks up. I'd rather her already know so I don't have to tell her to her face as she made me feel a bit uncomfortable by saying get a puppy don't have a baby when I got engaged (because she doesn't want me to be away) so I'd rather just text her while I'm furloughed which gives me the excuse to not go see her because of social distancing so I don't have the awkwardness of face to face I get a bit nervous with stuff like that and also it can be quite a physical job so she'll know not to give me too many hours or any lifting jobs xx

lydiangel83 · 04/06/2020 07:34

Yikes @JemimaFuddleFuck that's a big baby! Congrats! I think I'm going to ask for c section too so keen to hear others experiences!

JemimaFuddleFuck · 04/06/2020 07:38

Yeah @lydiangel83 all the midwives kept popping in for a look Grin

I will be mentioning it to the midwife on my booking in appointment that I want a C-section and as far as I’m aware you don’t actually see the consultant until much later on in your pregnancy. I’m going to write a list of all the reasons why I want an ELCS this time round. I will wait until after the 12 week scan for that though. And when I do meet the consultant they will have to fight me to the death to refuse Wink.

I think I will be in with a good chance though.

Harper04 · 04/06/2020 07:42

@lydiangel83 hey! Congrats on the BFP! I have a 2 year old little girl, I’m an only child and I can’t wait to give her a sibling because I hate it now that I’m older.

Oh my god, I’m the exact same as you! I was induced on my DD and it was awful 😫 I always said I’m dreading labour again! I got my little girl a big sister top and that’s how I told my OH but going to use it to tell my parents closer to the 12 week mark. How are you feeling?

Harper04 · 04/06/2020 07:45

@JemimaFuddleFuck I’m having an early scan next week due to my MC in March but I’m still going to book a private scan for 8 weeks. I feel like I’m going to need one every 2 weeks to stay calm 😩 I’m getting the period feelings on and off too, I can’t wait to them to go away because it’s making me so anxious

OP posts:
lydiangel83 · 04/06/2020 07:46

Thanks @harper04 and congrats to you too! Was also induced and didn't need to be, had very fast labour in excruciating pain with no pain relief and midwife didn't check on me until fully dilated, lost my shit and demanded gas and air as too late for anything else and ended up with forceps as baby got distressed. Had spinal block for that thank god but took them ages to administer as was in so much pain and couldn't stay still. Ended up with broken coccyx too which still hurts now :-/

lydiangel83 · 04/06/2020 07:47

Awww @harper04 so sorry to hear about your MC :( don't blame you for wanting regular scans, I do too and not even experienced that, must be awful :(

lydiangel83 · 04/06/2020 07:48

I'm feeling done thanks just tired but probably also due to DD lol rather than pregnancy! I feel absolutely fine which is unnerving as was quite sick with first. I hear every pregnancy different though!?

lydiangel83 · 04/06/2020 07:48

@JemimaFuddleFuck I can't imagine that you'd be denied one, fingers crossed for you. I rang docs a week ago to ask for midwife appt and not heard back yet, not sure how long it's meant to take!?

Elephantonascooter · 04/06/2020 07:56

Hi all, I'm in! Due around 4th Feb 2021, might be the 7th though... I know what day I ovulated and have longer cycles (34 days ish) so about 5 weeks.
I have a 20 month old DS, excited to give him a sibling!
Feel completely different to how I did with him though so doesn't quite feel real yet. I'm just starving all the time. Terrified it's twins (unlikely but always a chance) because in a 2 bed flat, a second was a push but doable. I think 3 would be wonderful but a lot! Not been sick yet and was very sick with DS though.
Only told my best friend as she rebooked her wedding for April 2021 so I had to ask if I could add a baby to the guest list!
Dreading telling family as I don't think I can deal with all the questions all the time so I'll wait as long as I can!

Congratulations all

Harper04 · 04/06/2020 08:13

@lydiangel83 at least we have eachother to get through it! I’m just tired and not having many other symptoms, I bet they will come with vengeance in a few days 😂

@elephantonascooter hey!! Congrats on your BFP! I feel like until I see a heartbeat on the screen I can’t believe it either. I’m still POAS everyday! 😂😂😂

OP posts:
JemimaFuddleFuck · 04/06/2020 08:16

I’m the same @Harper04. Yesterday I POAS after getting a positive on a digital Confused.

It will be so exciting when we all start having early scans.

@Elephantonascooter I’m dreading telling work, I’ve only been back a few weeks Blush

Harper04 · 04/06/2020 08:31

@JemimaFuddleFuck what are we like 😂 I can’t stop it! Yeah I can’t wait to see all the uploaded pics of people’s scans and the guessing of sex later on! I hope that by 12 weeks our partners can come with us!

Hello everyone,

I really hope you don’t mind me joining your group but I recently found out I was expecting baby number 2. Estimated due date is 4th Feb going by my dates. I’ve got a daughter who’s 2.5 and I had a traumatic birth first time around so although I’m happy with the news I guess the realisation that I’ve got to go through birth again is a worry! However saying that I’m so pleased that my daughter is going to have a brother or sister. Anybody out there pregnant for the second time and not as sick as they were first time around. With my daughter I was very very sick but at the moment I don’t feel ill at all? I’ve got sore boobs and emotional at times 😭 but no other symptoms really. My app says I’m exactly 5 weeks today 😊

butterfly0701 · 04/06/2020 09:43

@harper04 @howlatthetrees Thankyou so much ladies, and congratulations to everyone else. An early scan just eases the nerves, I read somewhere that the odds of MC are the same at 12 weeks as they are at 8, so if you see a heartbeat on an early scan it's a good sign. 12 weeks is so long to wait! Xx

Harper04 · 04/06/2020 10:09

@Emma476 hey! Congrats! 😘 Im hoping birth will be kind to me this time. Me and my friend was 3 weeks apart, mine was absolutely awful and hers was amazing and she loved it she said😂 Hopefully I can feel like that this time round, we shall see!

@butterfly0701 that’s good to know! Going to book the private later on. Will be nice to have it to look forward too!

Every birth and pregnancy is different. I had an awful birth first time round, induction, forceps, vacuum. Second birth was a fabulous experience, I actually remember saying at the time that I could have done it again! I did loads of reflexology on the second pregnancy and drank raspberry leaf tea and I honestly believe they helped.
And also, as a midwife said to me, the path was already made by the first!

Elephantonascooter · 04/06/2020 10:26

I've just had to tell work. Way earlier than I wanted to but they issued risk assessment documents which said pregnant were classed as vulnerable and needed to let them know as soon as possible.
I wanted to keep it a secret a lot longer than that and now I'm nervous and feel like I've jinxed it.

I've also had to cancel my private scan as they are only allowing one person in and no one can have DS for us due to the covid risk (all DS grandparents are key workers). Not ideal.
Just going to stay positive and hope everything is okay.

Elephantonascooter · 04/06/2020 10:27

Ooo also, does anyone know is a heartbeat develops 6 weeks from conception or 6 weeks into pregnancy (so 4 weeks from conception?) I should probably know this, this isn't my first child!!!

Brigg253 · 04/06/2020 12:13

Hi it's from last period so should see a heart beat from around 6 weeks since then (unless ovulated quite late) Grin

Scarlettm · 04/06/2020 12:16

@Elephantonascooter I think the heart is supposed to start beating around 21dpo or 5 weeks. Some people can see it on a 6 week scan but it’s not uncommon to see it until later.
I’m having my early scan at 5 weeks but think it will still be too early to see a flicker. As long as it’s in the right place I’ll be happy.
