Btw if anyone has requested to be part of the Facebook group and not gotten in yet, give me a prod. I thought I'd sorted everyone but I've seen some people in my friends list who aren't part of the group. No worries if you've left it but want to make sure everyone who wants to be part, is.

AnneFTM · 21/05/2020 10:01

Hi @wannabebump thank you for your welcome, I am keeping well, I hope you are too? Congratulations to you too Grin When is your due date? x

Hi @seventhrow lovely to 'meet' you and congratulations Smile. How are you keeping? Are you showing yet? x

wannabebump · 21/05/2020 10:04

@AnneFTM keeping ok thanks...due 12th Nov. Patiently waiting for a bump to appear!

Crispaddict99 · 21/05/2020 10:05

@wannabebump If you don't mind me asking, which clinic are you looking at and do you know if they're allowing partners to attend? x

AnneFTM · 21/05/2020 10:07

@wannabebump I think I am showing a bit however, it's hard to tell. It may just be the 'boredom eating' that is causing me to look more rounded, haha.

Fouryearslater · 21/05/2020 10:08

@littlegem84 I’d like to join but after my scan tomorrow if that’s ok (assuming scan is ok 😬)

Hancock2020 · 21/05/2020 10:09

@wannabebump I'm going to have one at 18 weeks, as partners still wont be able to come at my 20 week scan so we wanted him to see baby and find out the gender together

littlegem84 · 21/05/2020 10:15

@Fouryearslater of course and fingers crossed for you for tomorrow 😀

IAmSeriousAndDontCallMeShirley · 21/05/2020 10:34

Scan complete. One very wriggly baby seen- Official Due Date 22 Nov. 😀

Congratulations on the scans, really good to see.

Anyone else eating like there's no tomorrow? I'm 15+1 but for last 2 weeks in constantly hungry! Baby must be growing 😂

I asked on earlier threads about trouble sleeping on side but I couldn't justify buying a pregnancy pillow yet, incase it helps anyone else, my husband suggested rolling up a normal pillow and tying it up into a sausage shape to put behind me and another infront, and it's so much more comfortable! Also seems to have reduced the hip ache I was getting at night. Worth a try if anyone else is suffering.

wannabebump · 21/05/2020 11:20

@Crispaddict99 I've sent u a pm x

Amiz · 21/05/2020 11:28

Ive eaten like horse for two days, yesterday it was all about the protein for me, I ate so much meat and peanut butter. It's a good job we decided to have bbq. I made home made burgers and a share steak. Then ended up cracking opening the sausages. My husband was like "are you sure what about veg"

seventhrow · 21/05/2020 11:39

@MillieFTM hi! I'm 15+5 and occasionally over the last 2 weeks I've been feeling much more hungry than usual. Just completely distracted need energy hungry. But often I feel like I don't have enough space inside me so have been drinking some more fruit juice/smoothies for the sugar... and have gone through the odd handful of Haribo.. I've never been one for sweet treats but it's the only thing that sorts me out!!

@AnneFTM :-) Sometimes I am showing and then other times I'm not? Hard to tell!! Mainly just looks like I've had a few too many lockdown snacks and they've gone straight on my middle and boobs!!

wannabebump · 21/05/2020 11:46

@AnneFTM haha feeling the same with the lockdown eating!

MillieFTM · 21/05/2020 11:56

Yes I'm definitely giving in to sweets and crisps so much more than before I was pregnant! Used to be very strict with myself, but now I can't help but have what I fancy 😄 peanut butter toast 👌

seventhrow · 21/05/2020 12:35

Soooo I am wondering who hasn't told work yet? I'm 15+5... I told one senior colleague at work because we needed to plan some stuff for Oct/Nov and it felt dishonest not to. But I haven't told the main bosses - I'm very nervous of doing so as they won't be happy about it.

I was sort of thinking that I would tell as soon as I start properly showing as it would be sneaky to keep it secret whilst working from home when in normal times it would have been discussed sooner. But still not really showing, and at a certain point it will just be dishonest to not come clean. But when is that point??

Aereon91 · 21/05/2020 12:50

Had my 12 week scan on Tuesday! Baby was very kicky and active, we're so excited :)

Fredthespider · 21/05/2020 12:51

@littlegem84 I removed one lady from the due dates list on the FB group as she wasn't in the group anymore, I assume she got bad news at the scan :(

Fouryearslater · 21/05/2020 12:56

@seventhrow there’s a legal cut off I think, 25 weeks? I let mine know virtually straightaway but that’s because I was off sick and knew I’d be having bouts of pregnancy related sickness.

Will they struggle to get cover for you? If so, I’d feel obliged to give fair warning.

wannabebump · 21/05/2020 13:18

@seventhrow I told my work after the 12 week scan. For a few reasons:

  • if everything goes ok to full term, they'll need to know
  • if something goes wrong from now on, theyll need to know anyway as it'll impact me going to work
  • some redundancy protection in current situation
  • they are looking at plans for reinstating an office working environment after covid, and I didn't want to let them do that and then put a spanner in the works, so when I'm off furlough, I'm WFH, which put my mind at rest

It was tempting though to keep in a surprise and just walk in on the first day back with a bump to see their faces 😂 x

AnxiousLady1 · 21/05/2020 13:59

@seventhrow I still haven't told work either, as I also know it will not be well received. I'm 15+4 and we are likely to continue to WFH for another while yet, so there's no real reason to. Im part of senior management team ans I dont think they will try to replace me whike I am on maternity leave. If anything it will have more impact on those trying to pick up my work, so I want to tell them, but hesitant in case they let it slip. I also want to save myself added stress once I do tell them. Part of me wanted to wait until after 20 week scan (had an early MC on first pregnancy). Ultimately, my main concern is me and the baby. So I feel based on previous loss, it's my prerogative to keep it quiet until I feel more comfortable in the pregnancy.

HarrietM87 · 21/05/2020 14:14

@seventhrow I haven’t told work either. I’ll be wfh for the foreseeable future and it’s not impacting my ability to work. I’m a solicitor and they don’t ever employ maternity cover, just spread the work around the existing team, so while they will need to plan they won’t start doing so until a couple of months before my due date when it becomes clear what everyone else is doing. I was going to wait until bonuses were announced but they’ve just been delayed for another month and I feel like leaving it to 20 weeks might be a bit long. I’m 16 weeks tomorrow. Really don’t know what to do!

carrot88 · 21/05/2020 14:25

I only told work yesterday as I'm 16+4 - have been moving teams at work for a while now but it's been delayed for various reasons. Finally got confirmed moving date for transferring over so it seemed only right to be honest with my new manager for when I start in a couple of weeks time - we'll be WFH for the significant future so no worries there anyway. Haven't told my current line manager though as I'm WFH so can hide it quite well - the management team in my current team just aren't communicative (main reason I'm leaving) so I'm not sure I'd get a response anyway! My new line manager was great though and offered me loads of support if I need it - and mostly said never apologise to anyone for being pregnant which has hit home with me - don't start your pregnancy announcement to work with 'I'm sorry but....'

NatalieH2220 · 21/05/2020 16:08

@littlegem84 I'd like to join the Facebook group if possible please. Can I search for it by name?

@Hancock2020 We had a similar idea as wanted to find out together but NHS won't write gender down or let my husband attend. The private one will write it down so we can find out at the same time once I'm back (just have to try not to look in the meantime!)

@MillieFTM I'm eating soo much lately. It's really bad as none of it is good for me. I'll be the size of a house soon!

littlegem84 · 21/05/2020 16:19

@NatalieH2220 of course you can join! It's a private closed group so not searchable. If you add me www.facebook.com/gemma.howe.12 I can invite you 😀
