Is anyone else still exhausted? My sickness is gone but I’m just so tired. I did a 20min workout yesterday for the first time in about 8 weeks and I had to go to bed at 8pm! I really really want to exercise again as I gained loads of weight in my last pregnancy and was miserable, but if it stops me from functioning it’s not really possible! I’m almost 16 weeks - thought things would be looking up by now!

AnxiousLady1 · 18/05/2020 10:26

@Squidgebum Haha. Maybe as it's our first baby? He's absolutely no idea what to expect do is automatically taking me saying I've pain as a bad sign 😂 Yours is probably more prepared since your last pregnancy.

@Harrietm87 I'm still sleeping roughly 10 to 11 hours a night (other than toilet breaks). Generally more restless. During the day I'm okay and for the last week I felt much more human and in control (being able to cook and do general things around house). I'm 15 weeks now. But yesterday I woke with a banging headache and mild nausea that was there all day until I went to bed again last night! Didnt move off couch entire day. Feel okay again today. Reckon there will just be days when there are surges of hormones.

TangBloodyFastic · 18/05/2020 10:36

@BuffaloCauliflower sounds the same as me but mine was just a bit lower than my hip bone just a bit further in from where my thigh meets my groin.
Seems a bit tender today but not pangs so far
I can feel it's still there in the background though
I have my scan tomorrow so hopefully they will be able to confirm everything ok I'll then know it is just ligament

mOmShanti · 18/05/2020 10:37

Hi all, I haven’t posted in absolutely ages Blush
I hope everyone is ok Smile
Quick question, are we supposed to be sleeping in our side yet or is back still ok? I’m 15+2 and have read so much conflicting info! What’s the consensus??

TangBloodyFastic · 18/05/2020 10:47

I'm still both sides and back! I don't even have a bump yet so surely sleeping on my back won't be an issue yet? Hope I'm right because it's so comfy on my back Grin

TangBloodyFastic · 18/05/2020 10:48

And I'm only 13+4 so a bit behind you @mOmShanti

OurLittlePumpkin · 18/05/2020 10:52

I'm on my left side and have always slept like this so no different. Lying on my back hurts!

BuffaloCauliflower · 18/05/2020 11:26

I’m 14+3 and still sleeping on my front half the time, barely a bump and I’m going with whatever is comfortable! Surely I don’t need to worry about lying on my back till there’s something big enough to be an issue?

@HarrietM87 I'm still exhausted but pushing myself to get out of the house walk every day for a good 45mins-1 hr. I sometimes have to sit on a bench mid way though... Have sort of given up on actual work outs for the time being as the loss of energy afterwards would just ruin the day. The walking is good though.

@BuffaloCauliflower I've been following that logic as well.. the dangers of back lying are when there's a load of weight pressing down... but when there's no extra weight?? I sleep on my front a lot and am trying to adapt to shifting slightly offskew so not completely flat..

On a different note - I am checking the NHS app every couple of days but it hasn't updated since my 12 week scan, 3 1/2 weeks ago? Is that normal?

Oatmilk1 · 18/05/2020 12:16

I am still exhausted - sleeping avg 8-9 hours a night, and sometimes taking a short afternoon nap or at least just lying down for a rest.

I do try to take a walk each day but I am noticeably slower (especially up the very slight incline to our house which I never noticed before!).

OurLittlePumpkin · 18/05/2020 12:17

Can anyone gain access to the NHS app? I haven't heard of it or been given details.

Pink15 · 18/05/2020 12:56

I agree with you all with the pain on sneezing! Such a strange symptom 😂

Pcosandpregnant · 18/05/2020 14:25

I’m the completely the opposite to everyone! I’m 12+1 and I have awful insomnia and I have had it since the beginning which is really unusual for me I’m a really good sleeper. I manage to sleep for about 3-4 hours a night now and then I’m up at 5. I’m absolutely shattered but I’m still unable to sleep during the day. I also have the pain sneezing it’s horrible!

BuffaloCauliflower · 18/05/2020 15:10

@OurLittlePumpkin do you mean a maternity notes app? My trust uses them and the midwife told me which to get and then the password to it. Speak to your midwife?

@Caldey11 @Pinktruffle thank you! I do feel more relaxed today and what I'm realising is that it is much more normal in pregnancy than I originally thought. Just going to take each day as it comes. Thank you xx

60sPony · 18/05/2020 16:35

@Pcosandpregnant Oh you poor thing! That’s a cruel way for your body to prepare you for life with a newborn!

HarrietM87 · 18/05/2020 16:37

@OurLittlePumpkin it depends on your trust - some use only the app, some are still hard copy. Mine gave me the option and I chose hard copy. If you’ve got hard copy notes then you don’t need the app as well - it should be the same info.

SqidgeBum · 18/05/2020 17:03

sleep during pregnancy is horrendous for me too. I am already not sleeping well. I remember being a zombie in the last trimester. Surprisingly, I slept much better after DC was born, with even a newborn waking every 2.5 hours!

Pcosandpregnant · 18/05/2020 17:48

I know @60sPony that’s what everyone has said Grin I'm glad it’s not just me @sqidgebum although I do feel your pain. I’m glad I am working from home as I don’t think it I could cope going in I’m miserable!

wannabebump · 18/05/2020 18:00

Has anyone had trouble getting an FW8 for dental treatment?

I didn't get it at booking in appointment, or the 12 week scan. I've left a message for the midwife team and the GP surgery won't issue it. Kind of going round in circles and a tooth that's had root canal previously is giving me grief so there's a dentist visit of some form going to have to happen I think.

Fouryearslater · 18/05/2020 18:03

@wannabebump that’s terrible that your gp won’t issue it 😲 My midwife at booking in said they can’t issue it until after the scan but to ask the gp (I was going through lots of prescriptions!). GP sorted it immediately.

wannabebump · 18/05/2020 18:08

@Fouryearslater doctors receptionist was having none of it. I don't want to bother the midwife team for something trivial as they'll be dealing with more important things, I thought it would have been easy enough for the doctor to do.

FilthyforFirth · 18/05/2020 18:20

For those on the lookout for maternity clothing I just ordered a load from boohoo which have 25% off so pretty cheap. £45 has got me 2 dresses, leggings, a skirt and top!

What is the FW8? Is it the NHS exemption card?

BuffaloCauliflower · 18/05/2020 18:23

I can also recommend the Love Leggings maternity leggings which are making me very comfortable right now. I’m between sizes and they’re slightly too big all over at the moment but I think it’ll even out as I expand!
