@BuffaloCauliflower I’m basically letting OH take up all the slack. When I’m not puking I’m working (as is he). But I’m wiped.

ChocoholicMama · 16/05/2020 18:33

@anon5555 Sorry, that must be very stressful. As the scans have been fine, chances are baby will be fine again this time. I had a bleed at 13 weeks in my last pregnancy. Super scary but baby wasn’t bothered. I’d get back onto them though and try to get another check.

@BuffaloCauliflower Yeah, poor OH has been picking up a lot of slack here too. I miss nursery!!

Addler · 16/05/2020 18:33

@Hancock2020 unfortunately not, but after weeks of sneezing and congestion my sinuses are horribly blocked and I think that might be contributing to my headaches, so it helps keep them clear

LozEliza · 16/05/2020 18:51

For anyone suffering with hayfever I've always sworn by Boots Allergy Barrier Nasal Spray Powder even before pregnancy but it's also pregnancy safe because it's essentially just a barrier powder. I went and got some today it's £7.99 but usually lasts me the whole season. I suffer really badly eyes, nose, ears, skin the lot but i find this really helps and you can use it as much as you need and only need to take it when symptoms flare up.

@ChocoholicMama @Pink15 @Spoons1988 @ACatCalledLola
Thank you for your support! I've spoken to the ward and because it has slowed I can stay at home for now. I've got an appointment tomorrow morning, for a scan.
I agree that this is less than before, hopefully baby will be okay.
Going to try and have a relaxing evening xxx

Hancock2020 · 16/05/2020 18:59

@LozEliza I'll check it out thank you

Daisy2013 · 16/05/2020 19:35

Pink15 · 16/05/2020 19:38

@Daisy2013 congrats!! I wouldn't want to guess as a I don't know what I'm talking about haha. What genders do you have already?

ChocoholicMama · 16/05/2020 19:43

@anon5555 Relax as much as you can tonight and best of luck tomorrow. These babies like to cause us stress!

@daisy2013 Lovely pics! I’m guessing girl.

overandoverafail · 16/05/2020 20:07

@Daisy2013 I'm guessing girl by the nub!

wannabebump · 17/05/2020 03:47

@seventhrow please take care of yourself with low blood pressure. I didn't recognise a dip in mine today (standing too long, a bit hot, feeling hungry...a recipe for a disaster for us pregnant ladies with all the increased blood flow) and fainted - broken glasses and head glued in 2 places after a trip to A&E. x

Crispaddict99 · 17/05/2020 07:42

Omg @wannabebump hope you're okay! That must've been scary. Take care of yourself xx

wannabebump · 17/05/2020 08:35

@Crispaddict99 feeling tender but ok! No pain from bump or bleeding so A&E and maternity triage had no concerns but I managed to book a a same day private scan and my wriggler was doing somersaults, arms and legs waving about! Defo put my mind at ease although I'm still worried I'll have caused it some harm. X

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/05/2020 08:54

@wannabebump bless you that sounds scary! Baby will be totally fine, they’re still small and very well cushioned in there. Make sure you rest up today x

I’m not sure if it’s low blood pressure, low blood sugar or what but I’m getting woozy when standing from lying down sometimes. Something to be aware of perhaps

wannabebump · 17/05/2020 09:05

@BuffaloCauliflower thank you, your words about being small and well protected in there are the same as everyone from paramedic, to A&E nurses, doctor and consultant, to maternity triage to the private scan place - I'm just need to start believing it really!

It's defo something to watch for, the A&E doctor said it's so common as we don't recognise it because it's new to us (especially FTM's). I hadn't skipped a meal but I'd went out before breakfast - as I'd be back at my usual time for eating, so it's an eye opener for me x

SqidgeBum · 17/05/2020 09:06

Question; is anyone else on here a teacher? Does any teachers know if we are expected to go back as we are considered vulnerable? I am secondary so for me i would have over 200 different students a week, even with the reduced 15 kids per lesson. Kinda freaked this morning over the thought of that.

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/05/2020 09:08

@Sqidgebum I’m not but my mum is so I’ve kept a close eye on the situation, and I’m sure I’ve read that pregnancy counts as a vulnerability where you can refuse to go back in. Have you spoken to your union?

OP posts:
Fouryearslater · 17/05/2020 09:32

Being pregnant puts you in the “clinically vulnerable” category (not “clinically extremely vulnerable”). I think we are no longer to shield and go back to work (thanks Boris 🙄), but most employers would/should see past that and allow us to remain protected. I’ll be working from home for the foreseeable, but that’s easy for me to do...

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/05/2020 09:40

@Fouryearslater pregnant women were never in the shielding category, except a small number of women with heart conditions in the 3rd trimester

Spoons1988 · 17/05/2020 10:16

Our work guidelines state that if we aren’t able to social distance at work then we’re to work non-clinically. Pretty impossible to deliver a baby from a 2m distance so I’m still going into the hospital but work in an office with other non-clinical people.

Hancock2020 · 17/05/2020 10:57

Does anyone else have a sneaky suspicion that we still won't be able to have our DH at the 20 week scan?

Pink15 · 17/05/2020 11:02

@Hancock2020 yes :( the lady who took my blood at the hospital said hospitals will literally be the last thing to go back to normal as they'll always be high risk areas :/

Wise0wl · 17/05/2020 11:06

@Hancock2020 yep, I think you’re right. I discussed this with DH yesterday and we decided that we’ll probably get a private scan at around 16 weeks if we can find somewhere he’s allowed to attend! I feel bad he’s missing out, but totally get why it’s the case at hospitals.

SqidgeBum · 17/05/2020 11:15

Thanks for the replies about teachers going back. I might wait til more guidance is released about vulnerable workers in school environments before worrying more. Hopefully I will be able to take more of a wfh role, maybe managing the distant learning for those who arent going back to lessons.

Myself and DH have discussed the 20 week scan. It's only 4-ish weeks away for me. I am hoping they allow him in, but if not we are hoping they at least can write the gender down for us to open together after. If they wont even accommodate that, I dont think I want to know the gender. We will just find out when its born, or we could book a scan later on at maybe 30 weeks then things are a little more back to normal. I am trying not to be too disappointed but I do feel for DH.

Hancock2020 · 17/05/2020 11:15

Yeah, I do get it but it's still a shame for them to not see baby moving around.
At how many weeks can you tell the sex for sure?
