@RosyCheeks93 lovely scan!!

@Pink15 Good luck today, you'll be so happy and relieved once you see your little one on the screen ☺️

ChocoholicMama · 14/05/2020 09:30

Congrats @Audio30 and @RosyCheeks93! Hope your scan goes well today @Pink15!

Crispaddict99 · 14/05/2020 10:20

@wannabebump I have no idea about maternity bras so I'll probably just copy you! I'm sure a few people said that Asda's were pretty good so I'll start there. Did you go yesterday? I was going to try Next but they aren't getting good reviews on their website.

I told my mum yesterday and it was the best reaction I could have hoped for! She'd run out of eggs so we popped down with some (we socially distanced in the back garden of course!). We put the scan photo inside the box and told her the eggs had rolled over in the car so she might want to check they were okay. She opened the box, saw the pic and burst into tears! Then she turned to my partner and said thank you 😂 Then we popped down to my partner's mum and dad and did something similar (box of maltesers this time!) and their reaction was brilliant! Totally shocked and more tears! It really was the best day! ☺️☺️☺️

Pcosandpregnant · 14/05/2020 10:36

I had my scan today and everything was well! Baby wouldn’t stop moving! I’m so so so relieved xx

SqidgeBum · 14/05/2020 10:47

So great to see all the lovely scans and hear everything has gone well 😁

Question; I apparently had to book my 16 week appointment. I dont remember my midwife saying that. So I rang to book this morning and the only one I could get is for when I am 17+2. Thats not a problem is it? I cant remember what the purpose of a 16 week appointment even is, but they want me to come into the surgery.

wannabebump · 14/05/2020 10:54

@Crispaddict99 yeh I popped to Asda yesterday and got a couple of bigger sized tshirt bras, they'll do just now until I get my head around maternity bras and make a decision!

Breaking your news sounds great! So pleased for the reactions you got 💕 we told parents after the scan but waited until yesterday after the screening results to tell everyone else..an emotional day to say the least! Have you told anyone else? X

Amymone · 14/05/2020 11:00

@Crispaddict99 that's so cute! 💕

MissingMo · 14/05/2020 11:11

@SqidgeBum My scan changed my dates so makes my 16 week appointment on my 17th week also. I messaged my midwife and she said that was fine and to keep that appointment so I assume that should be fine for you too.

Wise0wl · 14/05/2020 11:12

@Crispaddict99 that's lovely! And really good news that your scan went well @Pcosandpregnant

We're waiting for screening test results - we haven't worked out how or when to tell people yet!

seventhrow · 14/05/2020 11:47

Hi I'm just saying hello again as I disappeared for a bit... I had my 12 week scan on 30 April and it was completely normal. Was super pleased because the sonographer said he really liked scans like mine as the baby was behaving and everything was fine. I measured ahead so am now 14+5. Not totally surprised as my LMP was the only natural one I had since coming off the pill in Jan so my ovulation was probably a bit off.

Was anyone else completely gobsmacked by how detailed the scan is? I wasn't expecting it at all! I love medical stuff so was completely transfixed and the sonographer was happy to answer questions. The blood flow red/blue flashy lights were incredible!

Have been suffering quite a bit with IBS lately due to how squished my insides are. I am hoping that it gets a bit better once I have a proper bump rather than just looking like I've eaten too many donuts.

Having a nightmare finding new non-underwired bras online in what I guess is my new size... SO annoying. I have only two that more-or-less fit :-(

seventhrow · 14/05/2020 11:52

OH! something else. So St Thomas's in Westminster said that for financial reasons they're not giving out photos!! I went along willing to pay but sort of hoping that I might get a couple for free. Instead I got none at all! However I was allowed to photo the sonographer's screen after the scan? Bit disappointing but there was a small advantage - I got 6 different views of the baby, and he helped choose good ones of little hands and feet which was adorable. Plus the screen also showed in thumbnail format a lot of the others down the side of the screen - so I have very tiny photos of the brain, heart and heartbeat which I love because I'm a complete medicine geek.

Crispaddict99 · 14/05/2020 11:53

Thanks everyone ☺️

@wannabebump No, I haven't told anyone else yet. We're doing it at the weekend. We have a big family so it will take a while but I'm so excited to tell them! They're going to be really shocked and over the moon for us. I'm looking forward to telling my 86 year old grandma. I think she gave up hope of this ever happening! I'll make sure she's sitting down before I break the news! 😂

@wiseowl We waited for the screening results too. Mine were updated on the app a week after the scan but I know others have heard quicker. Hopefully not too much longer for you x

HarrietM87 · 14/05/2020 12:05

@Crispaddict99 that’s so lovely!

I got my screening tests back in the post and they arrived exactly 7 days after my scan, for anyone else wondering.

My hospital normally charges for scan photos but they gave me 3 for free - I assume because my DH wasn’t there but I didn’t question it! I didn’t ask to take any pics/video of the screen because the baby was being really tricky - wouldn’t get in the right position - so I kept having to get up and down off the table!

60sPony · 14/05/2020 12:10

Obviously it will vary a bit by trust but this is quite a useful chart of appointments and reason for them from my notes so you can see that some appointments are more time critical than others! I’ve got my 16 week appointment next week (will be 17+1) which I think will likely be over the phone but as it stands is booked to be in the hospital...

Amytitch · 14/05/2020 12:19

@60sPony that's actually super helpful, thank you!

Wise0wl · 14/05/2020 12:25

@seventhrow congratulations on your scan! I've ordered bras from H&M who had loads of non-underwired ones available if that's helpful?

Tonicandgin · 14/05/2020 12:31

Thankfully I've had a scan this morning and baby is well! Phew! No reason they could see for spotting and it's not happened again. They also said dull ache is normal because everything is moving at this point. Feel so much better. Baby even looked like it burped, but it was very active.

I was put in early pregnancy unit for my apt and was sat with lots of people who were having problems - it was so sad. They looked so lost all sat on their own. I wanted to talk to one girl sat opposite me who caught my eye but I honestly didn't know what to say.

After my scan I was asked to hide my scan pics on the way out because not everyone has good news in this dept. Sad

SqidgeBum · 14/05/2020 12:42

Oh god thats so sad @Tonicandgin . We are so lucky to be at this stage with healthy, wriggly little babies.

I am really happy everything is fine! Such good news.

Amymone · 14/05/2020 12:43

@seventhrow I am st Thomas's too! Sad to hear about the lack of pictures. Sounds strange that they won't let you even pay for them? Did they let you take a little video of the scan? I need to have something I can obsess over when I get home! 😂 Scan on Monday....feeling nervous!!

Addler · 14/05/2020 12:55

I don't suppose anyone is at Ashford/St Peter's?

@SqidgeBum my midwife booked my 16 week appointment for the 23/6 when I'll be 18 weeks, she said there's no point seeing her again in 4 weeks as I'm already 12 and saw her on Tuesday.

ChocoholicMama · 14/05/2020 13:07

So glad you had good news @Tonicandgin. That’s such a sad situation for others there though Sad

Yay for all the scans today!

Hancock2020 · 14/05/2020 13:11

12+3 and have still been feeling nauseous the past few days, was hoping it would be going by now tbh.

SqidgeBum · 14/05/2020 13:17

I hate to say it @Hancock2020 but I still feel nausea at times. I am 15+3. I felt properly sick til 14 weeks. It just takes a little longer at times. On DC1 I just woke up at 14+2 and it was gone, overnight. It will eventually go. Just focus on that light at the end of the tunnel Flowers

FireflyGirl · 14/05/2020 13:23

Glad to hear all the scans have gone well.

I can't imagine having to go to EPU knowing it's going to be bad news, and not be able to have DH with me Sad

I've had my screening results through, and it's all good news. So, 16 week appointment next Monday, then 20 week scan on 15th June. Then I'm halfway there. We started ttc #2 last May, and had a couple of miscarriages, so it feels like it's taken forever to get here, but then no time at all.

@seventhrow, someone posted a link earlier to a site that can help with sizing, but your boobs will keep changing throughout pregnancy and then afterwards, so for now your best bet will probably be the crop top/sports style bras that come in small/medium/large.

seventhrow · 14/05/2020 13:26

@Amymone Hi!! I didn't ask to take a video.. there's a notice clearly displayed under the big screen asking people not to take photos or film the actual scan. I asked at the end whether I could have photos to go and he apologised but said I could take photos of his photos on the monitor. So we went through them together which was nice - seemed like they felt a bit bad about the policy. So I've got 6 photos on my phone and they're enough!!

@Wise0wl thank you I will try H&M!
