@wise0wl glad your scan went well! I wanted to wait until after mine but its 3 weeks away and my trousers are so tight it hurts 😂😂 the ones ive ordered wont even arrive til 29th may 😫 @BooMamaBear good luck for your scan!

Wise0wl · 12/05/2020 13:29

@Hatepickinganame thank you! that definitely would have been the case for me too if I had to wear real clothes. Working from home has real silver linings when it comes to wardrobe! 😅

professorastrocat · 12/05/2020 14:48

Good luck for those with scans and appointments today!

@Hatepickinganame you're amazing going to work at the moment, you're at one of the worst stages i think! Still exciting though haha!
I'm in bigger jeans but mostly joggers because I'm just at home. Agree @Wise0wl it's definitely a blessing in some ways.

Talcott2007 · 12/05/2020 17:00

I'm 15w tomorrow and living in joggers and stretchy jeggins already! I'm more than a little bit chubby anyway but definitely getting a fuller look now! Also definitely started to get the elastic band 'twanging' feeling occasionally that I recognise from previous pregnancy which preceeded feeling proper movement so I don't think it will be long now tbh

Has anyone been looking or thinking about prams/pushchairs yet?

Most things we have kept from DD so won't need to rebuy much at all but her pram/pushchair (armadillo flip xt) was used daily for over 3 years, it still functions but is pretty battered and frankly I just want a new one! DC2 will have so many hand-me-downs from both sides (which I'm super grateful for!) BUT it would be nice have something significant that is just 'theirs'

I'm liking the look if the iCandy Lime....

Looking forward to my 16 w appointment next week - currently still going to be f2f with my midwife so fingers crossed that doesn't change

BooMamaBear · 12/05/2020 18:51

We've still got the travel system from DD so il be using that!
I'm living in some cotton maternity leggings i finally got from H&M they're so comfy!! I've being living in maternity leggings since about 8w!
At least my belly looks more ball shaped than tear dropped shaped and it's hard now so I don't just look fat plus it's all at the front!
This little wriggler was have some proper fun this morning - I'll get to see her in a week!! Xx

Wise0wl · 12/05/2020 19:10

We don't have anything so will be buying everything from scratch, but for pram/pushchair will need something very compact (we're in London in a flat...) so will gladly take any recommendations!

DPSawMyUsername · 12/05/2020 19:17

Hello everyone.

Hope you're all well, had a quick mooch through the days I've missed. Lovely to see some more scans 🥰

Lockdown - probably been on about 6 walks since it started 😂 Everyday between 3 & 4 pm I am absolutely on my arse and if I can't nap I have a sugary brew to get me through till 8pm haha

Baby stuff - I want to get some unisex long sleeve vests and babygrows but I don't wanna go to Tesco or Asda to pick them up ☹️

Prams - we're looking at the ickle bubba v4 stomp. The special edition has a decent offer on at the moment and DPs mum has offered to pay as she's bought all the others for her other grandchildren. 🎉

Piglet11 · 12/05/2020 20:08

Thanks @professorastrocat. Had my 16 week appointment today and heard my babies heartbeats, so amazing! I managed to get a lot of worries off of my chest too which was good.

Has anyone been or think they will be prescribed aspirin? I was given some today, I think it’s routine at my clinic for those having twins but I believe folk get them for other reasons too.

Would love to start buying stuff but I just can’t get my head around the fact that I am going to actually be a mummy. It’s something I have dreamed about for years and I don’t think I will believe it until I’m at least 20-24 weeks pregnant.

I’ve bought a few bits and pieces of quite decent maternity wear off of eBay. I don’t really see the point in getting anything new and fancy as no one will likely be seeing me for the duration of my pregnancy lol.

professorastrocat · 12/05/2020 20:13

Glad it was a good appointment @Piglet11 and they were helpful. have you got your next scan booked in? I'm taking aspirin daily, just as a precaution as I was induced for slowed growth with my little boy. Are you concerned about taking it or did they not explain exactly why it's recommended for you?

OP posts:
Needallthesleep · 12/05/2020 21:45

@Wise0wl we are London as well, and my recommendation would be either Baby Jogger GT or Babyzen yo-yo. Nice to have something collapseable for tube fun! I did end up being a ‘sling and backpack’ person for my first though because it was so easy to get everywhere in London like that.

Just wrote a huge long message, then pressed the ‘back’ button accidentally so lost it all. Argh. Time for bed!

Wise0wl · 13/05/2020 00:01

Thank you @Needallthesleep! I’m working mad hours so just catching up before bed- I’ll definitely look into your suggestions (and also a sling, though the current situation has put me off the tube for a while, with or without baby!) sleep well 🙂

Piglet11 · 13/05/2020 10:48

Thanks @professorastrocat. Next scan is 12th of June (I will be nearly 21 weeks). They said because I’m having twins I would be at higher risk of preeclampsia and I assume slowed growth too. What dosage are you taking? I’m on 150mg daily.

professorastrocat · 13/05/2020 16:07

Yes same dosage @Piglet11

How's everyone today?

I'm feeling a bit rubbish, got loads of work to do but need to be mostly with my son which of course is most important but also feel like I'm letting him down with activities etc as I've no energy. Failing at everything! Also anxious about the back to school announcement.

I'm grateful for where we are fortunate here, just having a down day. How's others balancing kids and work at home?

OP posts:
BooMamaBear · 13/05/2020 17:24

Just had a call from my GP surgery who just called to book me in with the Nurse for my whooping cough vac heard it's usually worse second time round!!! Xx

Piglet11 · 13/05/2020 18:03

Oh dear @professorastrocat, is your work quite understanding? You will be in the same boat as half the country and you won’t be letting him down. Luckily this is only temporary. I live in Scotland so don’t think I will need to worry about schools going back anytime soon, which is fortunate as I work in a big school.

professorastrocat · 13/05/2020 18:59

Thanks @Piglet11

Lola871 · 13/05/2020 19:22

Had my first scan, all good, due date 13th November. I'm still getting some nausea some days which is frustrating, I just haven't been able to get back to normal diet and exercise which I was hoping to do by now!

professorastrocat · 13/05/2020 20:26

Yay for the scan @Lola871 ! And boooo for the nausea still. Definitely with you there.

OP posts:
BooMamaBear · 13/05/2020 23:22

Glad your scan went well @Lola871 -hope the nausea settles soon!!
How are you feeling now @professorastrocat? Xx

professorastrocat · 14/05/2020 10:37

Alright thanks @BooMamaBear 😊
Nausea side of things it's there some days and not others which I'm taking as a good improvement!
Hope everyone has a sunny day

DPSawMyUsername · 14/05/2020 12:38

16 week appointment (next week) has just been cancelled. 20 week scan will go ahead and then nothing really until 28 weeks. Seems like forever away but thank god we're not in them squinty eyes looking for lines stage lol.

I've booked a private early reassurance scan at 17 week so DP can get involved in something. I know it's meant to be for essential but he needs something before we go back to work in June ☹️

How's everyone doing? Managing to get dressed? Brush our hair? Put some slap on? 😆

@DPSawMyUsername how annoying about your 16 week appt. Will you have it over the phone? Very jealous of your private scan. I think I may book one if DH can’t attend the 20 week one.

Also, def no to the make up! Today my toddler told me I had a spider web in my hair (I didn’t. It’s just my insane hair at the moment), so am looking excellent!

Annoyingly I’m being forced to use my annual leave. I really wanted to save it for the first couple of weeks of mat leave so I can spend a bit of time getting my nails/hair done before the fog of a new baby. Now I’m having to use it for nothing very fun at all.

Is it too early to start talking about names?!

DPSawMyUsername · 14/05/2020 13:27

@Needallthesleep I thought you was going to say the cobwebs were Grey's 😂 Grey's are a sore subject for me atm haha. Why forced annual leave? Next week I should be having a week off but I'll use it a week before mat leave instead. My place has HR in an office upstairs and even though my boss area pregnancy/women/maternity as a hindrance to business, she won't let him play them kind of games.

I'm hoping he'll give me a straight answer quickly now if he wants to know the gender.
