The lady I saw afterwards for my jab booked the next scan and had booked me in to see my consultant (at 28 week), she asked me to book in with my midwife at my docs but for the life of me I can't remember what for 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 If I just book in, will they know? Haha

professorastrocat · 27/06/2020 15:25

So we've some early July scans coming up - who else has anything coming up? Scans, appointments etc.

I'm booking with an independent midwife for a one off session to go through a plan for this birth and hopefully help me with some residual feelings from first birth and help with a new mindset for this one -(alongside the nhs consultant but they weren't about to give any time to help me discuss feelings about previous birth etc, presumably not their job). I'm also seeing NHS birth matters.

I'm also going to do lots of hypnobirthing prep which I didn't do at all with first, hoping it will help me regardless of where I end up birthing as I would like a water birth in the midwife led unit but can't hold hopes on this.

Yeah they should do @DPSawMyUsername have you not got your next midwife appointment booked in?

Hatepickinganame · 27/06/2020 15:33

Ive got consultant app on 10th july and anomaly scan on 17th july 😊 so exciting. And scary! Has anyone had an 18 week app before? It was originally planned for 16 weeks. Will they listen to its heart or too early?

DPSawMyUsername · 27/06/2020 15:34

@professorastrocat No, I'll buzz them on Monday. She just asked about birthing options, tidied my file, mentioned 25 week, 28 week and 32 week. Gave me my jab, complained ultrasound wasn't sending up the right paperwork and said to book midwife. Only temp and blood pressure checked, don't even know if anything else would need to be done. I can't wait to start seeing the marks on the growth chart.

DPSawMyUsername · 27/06/2020 15:38

@Hatepickinganame My 16 week face to face was demoted to over the phone. I'd never heard of an 18 week until my midwife rang and booked me in, that was an over the phone to but it was to ask me the quiz questions that had already been asked from my 12 week scan. She was going to send my growth chart and 28 weeks blood packet out but I'd already had them through so she said it was a bit pointless really lol.

Hatepickinganame · 27/06/2020 16:37

@DPSawMyUsername yeah i didnt think an 18 week one was usually a thing, but originally mine was booked for 16 weeks, only i couldnt make it so rearranged it to 18 weeks. Its with a consultant, not a midwife so have no idea what to expect! Itd be nice to hear the heartbeat so i know all is ok though.

DPSawMyUsername · 27/06/2020 16:50

@Hatepickinganame Ahhh that makes sense. Well I don't know what they physically do at 16 or 18 week appts but we heard heartbeat at 17 week at the private scan so hopefully they'll do it for you x

Talcott2007 · 27/06/2020 21:44

I have a face to face with my midwife on 1st July and I have my rescheduled 20w/anomaly scan on 3rd July (when I will be 22w)- which is with the cardiologist we saw for the referral scan a few weeks ago when we thought there could be a problem with her heart. Although they have ruled out any major problems apparently its normal to re-scan a month later (I guess just in case anything was missed) before they discharge us from being under the FMU care pathway. We know that there can't be anything super serious wrong (or it would have been picked up but the earlier anomaly scan) but I won't be able to completely relax until after this one's out of the way too!

professorastrocat · 27/06/2020 22:00

Totally get that @Talcott2007 , roll on 3rd July! 😊

MummyBearBoo · 27/06/2020 22:32

Yes I've got 28 week appt with mw on 20th July -I had a 16w phone one too they will be able to hear heart with a doppler at 16/18w

Got 26w scan and this will be done by consultant at fetal medicine so I'll be seeing her too on 7th - I'm also supposed to have an anaesthetist appt though this maybe over phone soon!

Xx

Hatepickinganame · 28/06/2020 05:58

@MummyBearBoo ah thats good to know, hopefully that will be part of my appointment then! Would be very reassuring to hear a heartbeat. Time seems to be flying by at the moment, i worked out a few days ago i only have 18 weeks left at work now, once you take off my remaining holidays and when i plan to start mat leave!

MummyBearBoo · 28/06/2020 18:37

25 weeks today 15 weeks to go though it's likely I may be induced a week early!! Xx

DPSawMyUsername · 29/06/2020 12:05

@MumnyBearBoo It's crazy how time seems to be flying once over that halfway mark! At 15 weeks the end doesn't seem anywhere near in sight, with 15 weeks left it's all too fast 😆

Lola871 · 29/06/2020 15:17

@MummyBearBoo that's going to go so fast!

I'm currently lying on my left side for half hour after leaking some clear fluid this morning, hopefully nothing to worry about but I've got to call the midwife back and tell her if any more fluid comes out after I get up. I seem to remember someone else in this group had the same thing happen?

MummyBearBoo · 29/06/2020 15:25

@Lola871 -I hope it stops they say to put a pad on and see if it continues also they say it smells slightly sweet if it's amniotic fluid and it can gush a bit!! Xx

Lola871 · 29/06/2020 18:58

All fine, had to come and be checked out, heard baby's heartbeat for the first time so that was a bonus!

MummyBearBoo · 29/06/2020 22:19

How far along are you now @Lola871? Xx

professorastrocat · 30/06/2020 08:52

Glad everything is ok @Lola871 !

I've spent a worried 36 hours as baby had only moved once (she doesn't move a lot anyway but this seemed different to usual patterns). She seems more pokey and nudgy again this morning though so I'm feeling reassured. I think I over did it on a walk on Sunday, perhaps that's affected her temporarily. Still wondering if I should get advice or is 23 weeks still too early to worry about this.

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 30/06/2020 09:51

@professorastrocat -I called the mw this morning as my baby moved loads more yesterday didn't stop for more than about half an hour from 6am til 2am this morning was worried if they can move too much? She said they just establish their own patterns up til 32 weeks and they can't really move too much but DD never moved this much - their patterns change up to 32 weeks and they move more as they get bigger or you feel them more you could always call your mw if you're worried but it sounds like she back to being active again now so that's good!!
I still panic when she has a quiet day which I expect today but she's been dancing this morning already!! Xxx

Hhdxx · 30/06/2020 12:14

@Lola871 heya! Yes this happened to me! It turned out to be nothing. 😁😁 22 weeks now and all is well xxx

professorastrocat · 30/06/2020 14:55

Thanks @MummyBearBoo , I worry about this quiet one, my little boy was always so active

OP posts:
Hhdxx · 30/06/2020 17:42

Should I be concerned that I'm 22 weeks pregnant and have only seen a midwife when going for my scan?

Lola871 · 30/06/2020 19:36

@professorastrocat they shouldn't have a pattern yet at 23 weeks as it's easy for them to move so you can't see them. But if you're concerned you could always call!

@Hhdxx ah I knew someone else had it! Yeh nothing here in the end either, although they've sent some swabs off just in case. It's normal with covid not to see a midwife for an appt until 28 weeks, everything before that is just over the phone other than scans. I had booking in bloods done too but that's all.

@BooMamaBear I'm 20+4 now, scan next week which I'm looking forward to.

whatsthecraic91 · 30/06/2020 21:39

Got my 20 week scan appointment through! 19th August, feels forever away!

Hope everyone's keeping well x
