@Piglet11 -gosh I bet that was scary but thankfully all is ok - good luck for your scan on Friday xxx

MummyBearBoo · 11/06/2020 11:42

Are you guys stuff for baby yet?

Hatepickinganame · 11/06/2020 12:30

@piglet11 oh wow glad all is ok! Good luck for tomorrow!

MummyBearBoo · 11/06/2020 12:59

Meant buying stuff for baby yet? Xx

Needallthesleep · 11/06/2020 15:22

Hey all. Feels like I’ve been AWOL on this thread recently. Massive redundancies were announced where I work and I’ve been spending the last few days panicking that I’ll be made redundant. I’ve finally come to the conclusion that I can’t spend the next few weeks worrying, so I’m just going to try and ignore it!

How are you all feeling??

@BooMamaBear yes so so weird thinking back to getting the BFPs. So much has happened since then! And I suspect so much more will happen before we give birth. All I know is that I am exhausted already and can’t wait for this little one to come out!

@Piglet11 that sounds so scary. Really glad everything looked ok. Let us know how you’re appointment goes tomorrow? What time is it??

To all you second timers, are you finding this pregnancy so much different from the last? I’m shattered. I showed my boss a bump pic and she told me it looked abnormally large for 21 weeks. Lovely. I just already feel so lacking in energy!

Needallthesleep · 11/06/2020 15:25

And @BooMamaBear yes just starting now. I didn’t want to until I had my 20 week scan. I’m after a few really lovely first outfits for all the photos, and a running buggy. We have most of the other stuff already.

On that note, I have totally forgotten what newborn babies wear! Can anyone help? Is it sleepsuit, hat, short sleeve vest inside? Or long sleeve vest? Can they go in gro bags straight away?

Talcott2007 · 11/06/2020 15:31

@MummyBearBoo - not quite yet been doing lots of looking online but not committed to actually buying yet! There are only 2 significant items we need to get - a new pushchair and a new co-sleeper cot. I'm planning to hang on a bit longer and visit John Lewis to have a look at things that that in person once things have been back open for a while. Most other things are still up in the loft. All of DD1's old clothes were passed on to DH's Dsis when she had a DD a year after DD1 and I know everything has been looked after and stored as DNiece has grown out of it so it will all be coming back our way again once we can collect it.

Needallthesleep · 11/06/2020 15:49

Oh I also want some really lovely loungewear for the newborn days when I’m sat breastfeeding all day. I also want to start on my healthy snack collection (appreciate this is very early!) so I don’t hit the chocolate biscuits too hard when I’m starving and have a new baby attached to me.

professorastrocat · 11/06/2020 16:55

This is all so very organised people!!

I haven't thought about getting anything yet, apart from we will need a next to me bed, a car seat, and some new slings! So different to last time but we still have so much. And newborns don't need much. I don't think grobags are recommended straight away @Needallthesleep in answer to your question!
It's one extra layer than you are wearing generally. I keep forgetting it'll be winter when our babies are born!
Also, yes in comparison I don't think I particularly noticed I was pregnant last time, this time I'm constantly knackered, look awful, have a massive bump/fat, achey hips, mood swings, that's not to mention the sickness. So fun!

@Piglet11 I hope you've had a more relaxing day today, that must have been really stressful for you! I'm so glad everything is ok.xx

I had a bit of a thing the other day where I've convinced myself the scan was wrong and it's not a girl (as I know they can get it wrong!). So my crazy pregnancy head is still believing my gut over what a trained sonographer has told me. It's weird - is this a thing or just me...

My pregnancy is very different from last time I had no morning sickness in the first trimester and I felt great by the second trimester I had bags of energy and was 'blooming' this time I'm huge, tired and aching all over!!
I think my baby (winter baby) was mainly in short sleeved body suits, a baby gro and hat/bonnet if we were out with the pram a pram suit or coat depending on how long and how cold it is! I'd always take a blanket too if We were in the car i'd pack a coat but just put her in a body suit (vest) and baby gro possibly a hat and cardy and a take a blanket!! At night a short sleeve vest and sleepsuit depending how warm her room is! I don't think I used sleeping bags til was 3 months and used a cellular banker before that but I can't really remember!
I'm not planning on buying anything til 24 weeks I've got most of the big stuff from last time but yeah want to get some new clothes for the hospital and coming home! Xxx

Bumblebee413 · 11/06/2020 19:25

@Piglet11 that sounds like a really tough day, I'm sorry you had to go through that. Fingers crossed that tomorrow is just lovely and enjoyable. Did you say whether you are finding our what you're having?

@Needallthesleep that must have been a difficult few weeks, I'm sorry that you've had that to deal with. Which running buggy did you go with?

MummyBearBoo · 12/06/2020 08:39

good luck today @Piglet11 xx

Piglet11 · 12/06/2020 08:58

Thank you all so much for your kind words. Appointment is at half 9 (incredibly nervous) so I will let you know how it goes later and try and catch up with all the other chat I have missed in the last day x

professorastrocat · 12/06/2020 09:02

All the best for the scan today @Piglet11 !💕

Piglet11 · 12/06/2020 11:44

Everything looking good at the scan! Twin 1 measuring slightly smaller than twin 2 but still within a range they are happy with. I also don’t have a low lying placenta, just pressure from carrying two babies! Absolutely over the moon, starting to think I might actually become a mum! 🥰

Needallthesleep · 12/06/2020 12:17

Amazing news @Piglet11! Did you get an expected due date?

professorastrocat · 12/06/2020 14:32

Yaaay! Great news for you and your lovely babies @Piglet11 xx

Great news @Piglet11 -are you planning to find out what your having or leaving it as a surprise? Xx

Wise0wl · 13/06/2020 13:58

Just checking in to update you: DH and I went for a private scan and found out we’re having a little boy! Neither of us had a preference at all and are totally delighted, it was lovely for him to see baby. It makes it feel much more real! En route to tell my parents...

Hope you’re all doing ok!

Hatepickinganame · 13/06/2020 14:08

Ah @Piglet11 so glad everything was ok. And @wise0wl congratulations!

How is everyone?

professorastrocat · 13/06/2020 15:57

Congratulations @Wise0wl 😍

Thank you! X

@Piglet11 I missed your earlier post but so glad your scan went well 🙂

Piglet11 · 13/06/2020 17:45

Thanks everyone! So unbelievably happy! My due date is October 25th (at 40 weeks) but it is hopeful that I will deliver between 36-37 weeks so it’s actually more likely to be the end of September, start of October.
Unfortunately the hospital where I live won’t tell you the babies gender and we don’t have any private clinics so I am unlikely to find out what they are until they are here.

Glad to hear your scan went well @wise0wl. Would have been lovely for your partner and a little boy too 🥰.

How is everyone today?

MummyBearBoo · 13/06/2020 19:07

Congrats on your little boy news @Wise0wl! Xxx
