I'm not sure sickness is anything to go by - I've been pregnant with 2 girls snd 2 boys, 2 are healthy, 2 weren't and my sickness has ranged from none at all to being sick almost everyday with nausea all day and different variations in between! Let us know what h the scan says tho are you hoping for twins? Xx

Needallthesleep · 24/05/2020 08:39

So, I’ve got myself into the ‘my next scan is so far away (June 3rd) and I can’t possibly wait any longer to find out if there’s anything wrong with the baby’ place. Convinced there is something wrong (I know I’m ridiculous). I’ve just almost booked a private scan for tomorrow. It’s an insane waste of money isn’t it? £180. Ahhh. Tell me if you think I’m being crazy?!

Needallthesleep · 24/05/2020 08:42

Or just convince me it’s totally fine to spend that money, because I’m saving such a lot on commuting costs?!

Piglet11 · 24/05/2020 09:05

@needallthesleep I am so with you on this! My scan isn’t until the 12th and I am constantly worrying something will be wrong with at least one of the babies, it’s all just sillyness/overthinking. Unluckily for me but luckily for my bank balance there are no private scan facilities where I live. I guess you just have to weigh it up. Like you could put your mind at ease or you could buy a nice cot lol. A week and a half will soon come around x

BooMamaBear · 24/05/2020 09:13

In all likelihood your scans will be fine kafirs! I know stat you're feeling though the nerves kept me awake for nights! Thing is there's nothing you can do anyway!

I'm 20 weeks today - halfway I can't believe how much the days are dragging so it feels so much longer!! 20 weeks still to go and I already feel tricking huge!!

Meant scans will be fine ladies!

Needallthesleep · 24/05/2020 09:21

Thanks both, yes think it is ridiculous for the equivalent of waiting 1.5 weeks. I’ve felt the baby move this morning as well which made me relax a bit. I can’t believe how much I breezed through my first pregnancy thinking everything was fine, and now I’m convinced that everything is wrong!

BooMamaBear · 24/05/2020 09:27

@Needallthesleep - I know exactly what you mean I was excited for my 20w scan so I could see baby first time and I didn't even know it was an anomaly scan til the consultant was telling my that everything was fine -this time everytime my doctor was telling me what she was checking I was like it it ok she kept saying it's all ok but I still kept asking as I was so worried something was up even though they'd checked for chromosomal abnormalities at 11 weeks and baby was moving I was still stressing! Xx

professorastrocat · 24/05/2020 10:21

I get it @Needallthesleep it's weird how it ramps up aswell the closer a scan is. Mines the same week as yours and I've started worrying about the fact I hardly feel baby, especially after a couple of days of movements that seems like ages ago.

I suppose once they are moving all the time we'll feel more reassured!?

@whatsthecraic91 hope you have a good scan today.

Wise0wl · 24/05/2020 10:21

@needallthesleep @Piglet11 mine isn’t until July 6th! What I think I’m going to do is wait til after 16wks and book one that DH can come along to as I assume he’s not coming into the hospital any time soon!

@BooMamaBear great bump pic 🙂

BooMamaBear · 24/05/2020 10:36

Thanks @Wise0wl have a 26 weeks scan on 7th Jul I know what you mean it seems ages away as it's not even June yet! Xx

whatsthecraic91 · 24/05/2020 11:35

@BooMamaBear id be happier with one 😅 look at your lovely bump ❤️

@professorastrocat thank you it's at 2pm I'm so nervous!

BooMamaBear · 24/05/2020 11:46

Thanks @whatsthecraic91 xx

Piglet11 · 24/05/2020 13:14

Lovely bump @BooMamaBear have you found yourself pop in recent weeks. I hear you normally do between 17-20 weeks?

Good luck at scan today @whatsthecraic91.

Me and my husband felt the babies move yesterday 🥰

BooMamaBear · 24/05/2020 13:29

Thanks @Piglet11 what do you mean by pop? Xx

Piglet11 · 24/05/2020 13:42

@BooMamaBear as in did your stomach just pop out, like became bigger.

BooMamaBear · 24/05/2020 13:55

Kind of but i looked fatter quite early coz I always get really bad water retention but it was squishy - it got firm at about 15 weeks then just carried on getting bigger but yes it got quite a lot bigger by week 18 and seems to get bigger every night! Xx

BooMamaBear · 24/05/2020 14:00

Lovely that you and your DH got to feel babies move!
I love it when she kicks and when she kicks for Daddy -though she kicks anyway when I go to bed at night and when I wake up -though sometime she decides to have a rave too at 2am and all the moving and hard kicks wake me up!! Xx

whatsthecraic91 · 24/05/2020 17:59

Scan today went great! Measuring 1 day behind at 8 weeks so EDD now 3rd Jan. Hope it's okay for me to still tag along with you ladies x

@BooMamaBear lucky you!! Last day I had off besides the weekends was Easter 🐣 I would love to book a couple of weeks off in the summer but I'm now tempted to keep my leave for all of December so I can finish up for maternity leave earlier!
