How awesome. Good luck with the writing now.

My scan is 2 weeks today and can't come quick enough now as it actually feels like my bump is getting smaller! Perhaps position of baby has moved or something but I just feel squishy again now!

Ah my 12 week scan is two weeks yesterday. Time seems to be flying past!

DPSawMyUsername · 21/05/2020 11:42

Glad to see all the positivity on today's catch up. Seems we're all feeling better and a bit productive. 😁

Today is 16 week for me and I've woke up to an email from HR wanting a chat this afternoon about the set up and return to work if June 1st happens. I think they'll hide me upstairs with stick to sell online rather than shop floor, which is fine, but our stock is preowned so HR became very protective over me as soon as this all started to hit. So, wouldn't surprise me if she kept me on furlough either.

DPSawMyUsername · 21/05/2020 21:15

Bloody fuming!! Sorry, I need a rant!!
So, HR rang to see how I'm feeling about it all and returning. Explained the whole mix of emotions and the reasons why. She's so lovely and protective. Furlough is definitely an option but as management I feel like I'm letting the side down too. Anyway, I said I'd speak to the manager and see his thoughts. I know pregnancy and the lack of jobs I can do in his head is all just a burden to him. He's a tit like that. So, he's sent a message out tonight for everyone to privately confirm if they can return 1st June. I've messaged him to say I've spoke with HR and want to speak with him tomorrow to discuss and he's shot me down. "I'm with the regional tomorrow so I'll let him catch me up"

The regional hasn't spoke to me personally since 23rd march! What's he going to know? It's a proper man's world to him. Can't stand his face! 😤😤 So im deffo going the furlough option and he can deal with it all himself! 😤😤

BooMamaBear · 21/05/2020 23:22

He sounds like a total dick don't do him any favours!! Xx

professorastrocat · 22/05/2020 09:05

Good for you! Yes don't do them any favours if they aren't supportive, your and baby's health is most important 😊

BooMamaBear · 22/05/2020 22:46

@professorastrocat --are you on Aspirin? The Dr told me to start taking it at my last scan and continue folic acid as well as the vit D! if so how much are you on? Xx

professorastrocat · 23/05/2020 09:17

Yes and I think @Piglet11 said she is too. I'm on 150mg a day up to 36 weeks.
Mines as a precaution for growth. I now take the multi vits with folic acid, DHA/Omega 3 (vegan, as the fish ones are bleurgh) and aspirin. Yum!

OP posts:
BooMamaBear · 23/05/2020 09:34

I'm only on 75mg per day which considering some tablets are 300mg doesn't seem that much? Xx

professorastrocat · 23/05/2020 10:35

It's a small dose yes, it's called 'baby aspirin'!

OP posts:
Piglet11 · 23/05/2020 10:47

Yes @BooMamaBear I have been on it since 16 weeks as I’m having twins. Think it’s to prevent/push back preeclampsia and for growth. Did they tell you why? I’m on 150mg too

BooMamaBear · 23/05/2020 11:27

I think it's for growth too coz I had uterine artery embolisation after complications from my first TFMR (where they temporarily block off the artery) although the foam used to block it dissolves the consultant said it could still get blocked but the scan showed all was fine with blood flow and was reassured by the fact we got to halfway and growth and blood flow were fine!! It's just in case and they'll check it at 26 weeks as they'd already booked me a scan for then anyway. Xxx

@professorastrocat thank you for the invite I recognise lots of names here! Congratulations all!

I'm definitely late to the party my EDD is 2nd Jan, I have a private scan tomorrow, I am 8 weeks today. If anyone has any tips of how to get rid or cope with this sickness please send them my way I am miserable 😂x

professorastrocat · 23/05/2020 15:11

Ah you're here - great!

I wondered if you'd be a late December due date...
Sorry you're struggling with sickness is it actually being sick or nausea? I wasn't really sick apart from a handful of times but the nausea has been hideous. It's a lot better now but it's still around unfortunately! Only things that helped me at its worst (a bit) were eating constantly (unless food makes it worse for you), ginger biscuits, loads of water and enough sleep.

OP posts:
Needallthesleep · 23/05/2020 16:01

Hi @whatsthecraic91!

I’ve just left the nausea stage (it lasted until 16 weeks for me!). The only thing I can say is at least youre not too far off it starting to go, it tends to get better at 9/10 weeks. Count down the days!

whatsthecraic91 · 23/05/2020 16:11

@professorastrocat I've only been sick a few times, the nausea is killing me. I'm trying to eat every 2/3 hours but I constantly feel like crap. And I'm constantly hungry too but don't want to eat it's a very strange feeling. I can't eat ginger anymore as I now associate it with feeling sick 🤢

@Needallthesleep oh god I don't know how I'll cope with another 8 weeks of this, I'm hoping it gets better very soon 😅

BooMamaBear · 23/05/2020 17:27

@whatsthecraic91 - congratulations I'm so happy for you it's great to hear from you m-sorry you're struggling with nausea I ate ice creams which helped settle my tummy a bit -mine stopped around week 10 tho. I'm halfway through tomorrow! Xx

whatsthecraic91 · 23/05/2020 17:40

@BooMamaBear wow that's flew in! How are you? Thank you I still can't believe it, 16 long cycles to get to here! I have been eating ice lollies but they only make me feel better while I'm eating them 😅 I really hope I feel better soon!

I am so excited and nervous for my scan tomorrow as it will make it very real. My DP keeps joking it's twins as I feel so ill, so I'm scared about that too 😂

Wise0wl · 23/05/2020 18:04

Hello @whatsthecraic91 lovely to see you here! On nausea, I lived off toast (and other beige food) and eating little and often. Mine was terrible and disappeared at around 11/12 weeks. Good luck for your scan!

BooMamaBear · 23/05/2020 18:49

Good luck with your scan -do you have any risk actors for twins?
I'm 35 so the chance of me having twins was higher plus I'm a non-identical twin, my DH's dad (my FIL) is an identical twin and his dad is a non-identical twin so I'm glad I've not had twins in my 4 pregnancies!! Xx

professorastrocat · 23/05/2020 19:05

Lots of twins in the family @BooMamaBear !

We joked about twins too as I was sooooo tired and quite big. I think it was mostly beige food bloat 😂

It's exciting we do have twins in this group though! 💕

OP posts:
Hatepickinganame · 23/05/2020 19:07

@professorastrocat ha weve been joking about twins cause im huge. Fairly sure its just bloat and fat though 😂😂😂

BooMamaBear · 23/05/2020 19:50

I'm pretty big too the Dr said I looked like to was carrying twins or a huge baby but nope just one and 38th percentile!
Got the dimple above my belly button I get before it pops out it's gone really soft and is gross!! Xx

whatsthecraic91 · 23/05/2020 21:47

@Wise0wl hi 👋🏼😊

@BooMamaBear no risk factors but I have a good belly for being so petite and the sickness I have! Could just be bloating, I'll know soon enough 😆
