My turn for a dose of pregnancy insomnia, even though I feel tired. Not helped by a snoring DH and a SD who is restless and has been waking up crying for the last hour. I'm not looking forward to the morning.

That seems a bit mean @Indigogirl88. Of course you're going to be tired, you're growing a human. Do you manage to nap at all in the day? Maybe a lunchtime power nap would help. Hes going to need to get used to it for a while cos it wont get any better. You'll likely be more tired as you get bigger, and then once you've got a newborn you'll be needing to nap whenever you can.
Did you have a 16w appt? The mw should have told you then if you had an iron deficiency. You can always get them to check bloods again if you're concerned. But tiredness is definitely normal x

Spark27 · 18/05/2020 02:48

Meant to be a restless DD

Preggs · 18/05/2020 08:36

I'm clueless how too🙈🙈

Preggs · 18/05/2020 08:42

How do I upload picture please 🙈

LexiM · 18/05/2020 08:54

@Indigogirl88 I go to bed really early most nights and would certainly fall asleep at a film. I used to sometimes before I was pregnant 😂 sorry your DH hasn’t been more understanding.

I don’t think they realise quite how tiring it is growing a human, I must admit I didn’t until I was pregnant myself. When friends that were pregnant said they were tired I wasn’t unsympathetic but I realise now I didn’t understand how tired they were. I definitely think he needs to understand you will get more tired towards the end of the pregnancy too and he needs to accept that and support you. I have certainly said to my husband I’m not joking about how tiring it is growing another human. When you think what your body is doing it does make sense.

Indigogirl88 · 18/05/2020 09:21

Yeah I slept pretty well last night apart from the hip pain, but back to work today (still from home) and I really need motivation. I feel like I'm really ready to be a mum and as twee as it sounds l know that this is what I'm meant to be doing. I accepted over the weekend that my priorities will be changing and so I feel like I'm ready for this new phase, and so insignificant things at work just arent bothering me. I'd rather be googling all day how to breast feed 😂

CouscousEvaporator · 18/05/2020 10:18

Just wanted to say thanks for the recommendations of using a pregnancy pillow!! Omg I slept like a log and hip pain is minimal this morning 🥳

Feel like a new woman!

@indigo88 usually it’s DH who falls asleep watching films but I have been napping for half an hour at about 4pm!! He needs to buy one of those weighted prego bellies and wear it 24/7.

My app said today that the entire amniotic fluid is renewed by our bodies every 3-4 hours. No wonder we are tired. Also baby is 6 inches head to bum, not head to feet, can’t believe it!

MrsD1990 · 18/05/2020 10:21

My scan is later on this morning. After counting down the days and not being able to wait, I actually feel so nervous about it I feel sick!! Looking forward to seeing little bean though, hope all is well ♥️

@Indigogirl88 I am so tired the latest I stay up is 10pm!! Went to bed at 9.30 last night - think it's totally normal. Growing a human is tiring!!

BntTowers · 18/05/2020 10:21

@Indigogirl88 I always fall asleep during films, or give up and go to bed. You are growing a person you're allowed to be tired.

CouscousEvaporator · 18/05/2020 10:32

Good luck @MrsD1990 x

otterbaby · 18/05/2020 10:43

@MrsD1990 good luck today!

Officially 20 weeks today! Can't believe I'm officially halfway. Not wishing away the summer or anything, but I can't bloody wait for October Grin

HerondaleDucks · 18/05/2020 10:52

@MrsD1990 good luck at your scan!

It turns out the baby loves the sound of my step daughter. She was giving me a cuddle last night and talking to the bump. It's the first time she's done it as she is a grumpy teenager most days lol.
But there was an explosion of movement. My DH was super jealous cause baby is not bothered by him at all!

babymama09 · 18/05/2020 11:04

@MrsD1990 good luck this morning let us know how you get on.

Being pregnant is knackering. I was having 1hour or 2 naps in the day, I was also going bed really early my eyes just couldn't take it any more. Its eased off a little but I end up sleeping in til gone half 9 and need to get out of that. My kids like to sleep too thou so that kinda helps.

Growing a little human inside is you new to your body and your going to experience tiredness. Sooner or later your dhs or dps are also going to understand your tiredness when that little human is screaming for milk.
Big hugs to you hun and stay strong. Lovely to hear that some of you have gone on a spending spree, I am well jealous as can't buy for baby until wed and even then I won't spend anything properly until I know that there is definitely no hydrops. My anxiety levels are peaking as I am getting to the stage where they found it with my girls. Badly need to get loft ladders as need to have a look what I do and don't have but I have prepared one of the moses baskets I could not resist and my daughter. keeps putting her dolls in it.

BooMamaBear · 18/05/2020 11:04

Had my 20 week scan this morning, baby looking perfect and healthy. Such a relief! Confirmed a little boy (clear as day with very little room for error haha 🙈) 💙

This little one is kicking loads arm she doesn't usually kick in morning just at night- I'm just having a lay down on the bed while my DD is busy playing in her bedroom! Xx

Totally understand the excitement of the countdown turning to anxiety right beforehand - but I'm sure all will be fine and you'll come out smiling

@CouscousEvaporator it will come around quick I hope I will be 19+6 with my next scan and that isn't until 3rd June got a midwife appointment this Saturday.
Does anyone get affected by the government's plan for schools?

DollyDaph10 · 18/05/2020 12:20

Congrats @bluemoon2468 💙
I have my scan on Wednesday (was meant to be today but they postponed it and changed the location) and I’m so nervous!!

Treacle81 · 18/05/2020 12:48

Hi girls! I’m also half way there!!! 🥳🎉🧸!! Congrats @bluemoon2468 💙 beautiful boy. Good luck to the scans today! 1 sleep till mine- mixed feelings! @Indigogirl88 I thought that I’d have more energy by now but I haven’t and that’s fine, get as much sleep as possible right now. Your body will let you know. My eyes nip out my head around 9 and I just take myself off to bed xx

Treacle81 · 18/05/2020 12:59

@Indigogirl88 a wee idea maybe to send him or show him your weekly pregnancy updates as they will show your symptoms ie extra tiredness, shortness of breath. @CouscousEvaporator yea, I can’t seem to sleep on side with knees together so put p pillow in between, so much better xx
