@Clalou83 They automatically put me down as midwife led which was what I wanted anyway, I believe it's automatic if your low risk that they do that.

Clalou83 · 07/05/2020 11:40

@1990shopefulftm Right I see I'm low risk I think, think I scored one cos of my age 36 lol

1990shopefulftm · 07/05/2020 11:45

@Clalou83 I don't have my notes in front of me but there's a section in them where they ll have put what risk they have assessed you as at the booking appointment and then which care they ve put you down as.

Clalou83 · 07/05/2020 11:52

@1990shopefulftm Oh right. Not got my notes yet they said I'll get them at the 20 week scan. They originally said I'd get them at my 12 week scan.
I've started taking notes and writing questions down so I make sure I get what I need. The last two appointments I was emotional and this agreed with what ever they said, I think it's hard to take everything in when you're partners not there.

Flora20 · 07/05/2020 11:55

Hope your appointment goes well @DressingGown87.

I had my 16 week appointment this morning, via phone, she just checked I was feeling ok and reminded me about monitoring movements once they become regular. She's booked in my next appointment too but it's not until the 30th July! She did confirm that they've already restarted home births round here so that was a relief, can't imagine they'll stop them again by October.

Hoping I get my 20 week scan date through soon!

Clalou83 · 07/05/2020 12:00

@Flora20 You should do I have mine through the other day for the 11th June. I think I might call the midwife next week when I'm 16 wks if I've not heard anything.

1990shopefulftm · 07/05/2020 12:01

@Clalou83 oh I see that's annoying, I accidentally ended up with 2 sets of notes but they fixed it at my 12 week scan for me.

Writing things down is a good idea :) I guess I m only going to want to ask things if I get any worrying symptoms, otherwise until I get to the point about birth plans I m hoping i ll just plod on.

@Flora20 glad to hear you ll be able to get a home birth :)

Clalou83 · 07/05/2020 12:09

@1990shopefulftm that's all we can do isn't it plod on, stay healthy and enjoy chilling.

Clalou83 · 07/05/2020 12:10

@1990shopefulftm Thank you for sharing your advice x x Smile

SamK93 · 07/05/2020 13:04

Hi guys! I don't know if I'm the only one but I don't have pregnancy notes anymore, I had them with first two but now they've been a stopped in my area. Everything is electronic and on an app! At my initial booking appointment I got the username and password for the app and all my booking details are on there and I was asked if it was okay for information to be shared with relevant health workers. I can access all my information via the app at any time, it feels weird for me though as your told to take your notes with you everywhere. All the information from my scan and bloods etc get automatically updated and uploaded. I also feel for the women who get pregnant but don't have a smart phone to download an app! Or access to the internet.

DressingGown87 · 07/05/2020 13:46

@Clalou83 yes I think you automatic get midwife unless you have a high risk factor. So hopefully your midwife. Writing things down is a good plan.

@Flora20 glad your appointment went well. Did they discuss the position of the placenta, to explain the movements? Mine wasn’t in my scan notes, so they have asked for it to be checked. Glad you get a home birth too.

Appointment went well. I’m on 4 weekly scans, then 2 weekly from 26 weeks!! 15 in total by the time I’m ready to give birth! They’ve gone through that I probably won’t go to full term, so to be prepared from 34 weeks, and to expect a low birth weight. Plus a c section. Which just adds to the worry of living alone!

@SamK93 that’s a shame, I quite like having something physically to look at. Although carrying them round is a pain.

1990shopefulftm · 07/05/2020 13:51

@DressingGown87 glad your appointment went well. I m sure all the scans will be worth it. Any friends or family that can help out with bits after the c section?

DressingGown87 · 07/05/2020 13:58

@1990shopefulftm thank you. My friends and sisters all have children of their own, so would be hard for them to live with me for 6 weeks. They’ve told me now, so I can explore the options.

1990shopefulftm · 07/05/2020 14:04

@DressingGown87 I ve read planned sections can be a bit better recovery wise, hopefully that's the case for you.

SamK93 · 07/05/2020 14:10

@DressingGown87 I also miss having the physical notes on me but I don't have to carry them around which is the only good thing. I'm really glad your appointment went well, Its good they've told you everything you need to know early on so you have time to prepare yourself. Don't stress about it, even if you can have someone pop in every day just to make sure your doing okay and have everything you need. I'm sure you'll have managed to work something out by the time of birth x

Clalou83 · 07/05/2020 14:18

@DressingGown87 At least you know your in safe hands and being monitored closely and you have plenty of time now to explore options for afterwards.
Take care x

Flora20 · 07/05/2020 14:57

@DressingGown87 lots of opportunities to see your baby then, that's exciting! At least you can plan for an early arrival now, I thinks it's probably not as bad if you've got time to process it all.
My scan notes don't say anything about placenta position, was anterior last time (at the front) so didn't feel movements until quite late but from the fact I've been feeling wriggling for a few weeks already now I'm guessing it might not be this time! They'll check that at next scan. It's not until 23/24 weeks that they tell you to track movements anyway.

BS9790 · 07/05/2020 21:37

Just marking my place again as keep loosing the thread and can't find it on the board! I'm still here reading posts each day, I've been feeling a bit anxious again, so just lurking behind the scenes for now!
Hope everyone is well 😊😊

KitKatKit · 07/05/2020 21:40

@DressingGown87 Ah glad all was okay today, and that there's some kind of plan in place for you!

@SamK93 Electronic notes! That's a new one. I think I'd rather them digitally than a big plastic blue file Grin but that's just me. Completely agree, some women may not have smart phones or may just prefer actual paper!

roarfeckingroar · 07/05/2020 22:49

Our pram and car seat have arrived along with some baby clothes and I am so happy and excited 😊

Freddie1987 · 07/05/2020 23:03

@BS9790 oh no, what are you feeling anxious about? X

@roarfeckingroar that's exciting and so well organised! What sort of clothes did you get? I've got my eye on some nice winter tog sleeping bags. But to be honest, I'm only getting to grips with having to sleep with a pregnancy pillow 😂

DogCatDex · 08/05/2020 08:18

@roarfeckingroar wow you’ve picked both car seat and pram already! I haven’t even started looking. I had a quick google on prams - saw there was hundreds to choose from and freaked out haha

Which did you go for?

One thing I have chosen is the bed as I was to do the co-bed cot thing at the start I think

Jaffas22 · 08/05/2020 08:53

@roarfeckingroar I pre ordered my pram this week I’m super excited also. They are awaiting stock so won’t come until June!

Mc3209 · 08/05/2020 08:53

@DressingGown87 I have an opposite problem for the immediate post delivery time. My mother lives in Ireland and our relationship is not a particularly close one (we get on much better living in different countries, we are both strong headed and stubborn). She just announced few days ago that she is flying over with my gran (whom I adore to bits and who basically brought me up) and plan at staying at our house around the time the baby is due without asking me first. Sounds great on paper, but I know she is a high maintenance guest and is coming to see the baby as opposed to help out, and I don't think I will be able to cope with additional stress around that time. Plus the spare room will be converted into a nursery (and the the other room in the house is an office which doesn't have anything one can sleep on in it), so the sleeping arrangement for them in that scenarios will have to be blow up mattress on the floor in the living room which I am really not keen on. So I've asked them to stay in the hotel. And I think they took offence.
I haven't even thought that far ahead as birth and postpartum, but this is already stressing me out. Plus the kid may not come on a due date for me, they have their own schedule. Gah.

@mc3209 i think that is unfair to put on you so soon after birth. Hopefully between now and then there is plenty of time to get used to the idea of staying in a hotel, they'll get more quality time with you rather than being in the way if you want to get up with the baby and it'll far more comfortable for your mum and nan in a hotel. Is there somewhere nearby? Its lovely that they are so keen to come over to see your family but in your situation i would be standing my ground on that! I hope you can try not to worry too much for now
