@roarfeckingroar How long did your 20 week scan take? I've got mine next week, was hoping will be done in 1 hour so I can be back for the conference call. Am I being too optimistic?

PS 6 hour conference call sounds exhausting.

Hi everyone! I'm new hope it's ok to join. I'm due Oct 2020. I was just wondering if anyone else having same symptoms as me recently? My bladder, or just above it is always super achy!! (Def not a UTI been tested). Also major hip ache. And the last 3 days I've felt so nauseous and sometimes light headed. Didn't have any morning sickness in first trimester, so it's v odd. Anyway ha didn't mean to come on and have a massive moan just wondering if anyone has had same thing? Have been feeling the baby lots which is sooo exciting! Scan next week :)

Hope everyone well! Xxx

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 26/05/2020 19:25

Hi @NewtothisFBK4921

Second baby for me and yes, all sounds normal. I have hip pain again and this is just everything stretching ligaments wise. Mine is worse in the morning but sleeping with a pillow between my knees helps.

Exciting, not too long to wait for your scan!

1990shopefulftm · 26/05/2020 19:44

@NewtothisFBK4921 I get hip ache a lot, sometimes a bath or a pillow helps but sometimes I just have to stay still for a while.

Flora20 · 26/05/2020 19:58

@NewtothisFBK4921 Sounds pretty normal I think, I get hip ache when I'm lying in bed (kept getting that even after my first was born though so think it's now a permanent thing for me 🙄) I try to think about all the stretching and rearranging that's going on and the aches and pains make more sense!

@roarfeckingroar I'm not sure I'd ever have been able to manage 6 hour conference call! Sounds horrific... The gardening sounds much better! X

NewtothisFBK4921 · 26/05/2020 20:41

Thank you everyone! Nice to hear people in the same boat :)

60sPony · 26/05/2020 21:54

Anyone else getting pins and needles in their arms in the night? It’s waking me up every night at the moment! I’m thinking it’s cause I’m heavier or how in laid to get comfy

roarfeckingroar · 26/05/2020 21:55

@Flora20 good to see you back xx

@Mc3209 the scan took about 25 min and the wait was 30. Give it more time than you need so you don't have to worry.

KitKatKit · 26/05/2020 22:19

@60sPony yes me! I thought it was because I was sleeping on my side and I'm too overweight for my arms! I'm finding my shoulders are aching more as well during the the night, again from all the side sleeping.

I'm 19+1 and haven't felt any movement...when I went for a private scan at 16 weeks they said my placenta was at the back so technically I should feel movements sooner...but so far nothing! Trying to stay calm until my 20 week scan next week...

DressingGown87 · 26/05/2020 22:46

@Elizag20 I wouldn’t worry too much about the sunburn. Lots of aftersun lotion. As for movements I think it’s later on they ask you to monitor the movements, as it all depends on position. But if your worried, I don’t see any harm in contacting your MW.

@Jaffas22 I’m not too sure about the mattress, hopefully someone else can help.

@NewtothisFBK4921 congratulations and welcome.

@kitkatkit don’t worry about the movements, people feel them at different stages. I get flutters, but my friend at 22 weeks hasn’t felt anything yet, and her placenta is rear. Sometimes the flutters are so mild, you don’t notice, until you engaged your brain fully, if that makes sense.

KitKatKit · 27/05/2020 06:43

@DressingGown87 Thanks for that, that is very reassuring🙂

@Jaffas22 Not from experience and just from what I've been reading, I think you'd be best to get a new mattress so it's as firm as possible x

Flora20 · 27/05/2020 07:48

@roarfeckingroar Thanks xx

roarfeckingroar · 27/05/2020 11:43

I feel like an absolute whale today 😩 and have what I think is acid reflux. Plus I'm worried because I can't feel baby much, even though I know I have an anterior placenta.

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 27/05/2020 12:08

Can someone remind me if it says in your pregnancy notes the position of your placenta? I wasn't told anything at my 12 week scan but I'm just wondering. I was anterior with my little boy..

1990shopefulftm · 27/05/2020 12:14

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt I ve checked mine and they ve not mentioned it anywhere

Lolllyf · 27/05/2020 12:31

Mine is noted on my NHS 12 week scan as posterior.
I had a second private scan and that doesn't actually mention the position of the placenta so I suppose it depends on the reporting.

SamK93 · 27/05/2020 12:56

I checked my notes from the 12 week scan nothing is mentioned about the placenta either.

I'm really struggling with the hip pain now, it started at night when I'm asleep it's been a few weeks and it travels down my legs too, I can't lay on one side for too long as it hurts too much I'm constantly switching sides all night it's horrible, now I can feel the ache during the day too. My pregnancy pillow really doesn't do anything as it's when I lay on my sides. Never experienced this with previous two pregnancies. I'm thinking maybe it's the mattress, but i have the same problem on the sofa too lol!

DressingGown87 · 27/05/2020 12:57

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt mine wasn’t noted on my 12week scan, they checked at my 16week.

@roarfeckingroar hope your ok, and don’t have any more long conference calls to survive today.

I’m sat in the garden making my purchase list. Don’t even know where to start 🤷🏽‍♀️

KitKatKit · 27/05/2020 13:19

@roarfeckingroar I could've written your post word for word today! The reflux has been pretty shitty recently and I've been quite worried about not feeling movements too.

I've found I've had to cut out any sort of spicy food and ensure I am sitting bolt upright after meals (so no slouching on the sofa), to help avoid the reflux.

@DressingGown87 That sounds like a lovely way to spend the afternoon. I've got a Google note of absolutely everything I think I might need and now I'm ignoring it and not buying anything 😁 Really can't wait to be able to go into stores to see things in real life esp bloody car seats and prams!

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt My 12 week scan didnt tell me the placenta position but the sonographer at the private scan I had at 16 weeks told me about positioning then.

60sPony · 27/05/2020 13:28

@KitKatKit Haha glad it’s not just me. Hope your not like me and flapping your arms about like a crazy person at all hours of the night to try and regain feeling!

KitKatKit · 27/05/2020 13:32

@60sPony Haha yes I do! And hang them down the side of the bed hoping that gravity will help the blood flow back into them 😂

Freddie1987 · 27/05/2020 13:45

@SamK93 not sure if anyone's mentioned it but sounds a bit like sciatica? I've had it before in my right hip/leg and it was a nightmare at night. Best thing I found was stretches before bed that open up your hip flexors, if you search yoga for sciatica on YouTube it might help?

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 27/05/2020 14:21

Thanks all, doesn't mention it in my notes either but I'll ask at my 20w scan.
Smile

Elizag20 · 27/05/2020 14:33

Would anyone mind sharing their list? This is my first and I don't know where to start!

Flora20 · 27/05/2020 15:27

@roarfeckingroar I'm with you on feeling like a whale! My husband said this morning that he's sure I wasn't 'this huge' until about 7 months last time. Which really made me feel good 😂

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt My 12 week scan notes don't say, I think they usually check at 20 weeks. Hope so!

@ElizaG20 I don't have a list as it's my second so got everything already, but can give a list of what I found useful if that helps?
