Hi!
Just got my BFP this weekend.
I got my first faint positive Friday morning with an frer, and today it's much darker (11dpo)!

Leading up to my bfp, I've had icky feeling, tiredness, dizzy spells, headaches, cramps.
Not feeling as icky as with my last pregnancy yet though!
Provisional due date of 7th January using the NHS calculator.

Come and join once you've got your bfp for January 2021, for a few pregnancy pals!

Bloating seems to be getting worse everyday here! Literally look like I'm 4-5 months instead of weeks but I have had babies so you tend to show quickly with future pregnancies (even if it's just bloat)

Hi Everyone,
I hope you don't mind me joining as I've been silently reading this thread ever since I got my BFP a week or so ago and my estimated due date is 20th Jan 2021 and as I'm new to all of this, I have googled so much. This thread popping up on one of those searches!

I would like to first of all congratulate & thank all of you amazing women for sharing your stories & symptoms as it has helped answer so many questions I feel silly asking or googling in my case (My search history is gonna be strange to look back at! :P)

So... I am overweight and lost nearly a stone through following Slimming World before lockdown. On my google travels I have read information on being overweight during pregnancy and how it can cause a whole host of issues including labour issues as well as causing issues with ultrasounds by causing them to not be clear for the sonographer.
My questions is, without being too personal I hope, is there any other momma's on here who can help put my mind at ease with past experiences with overweight pregnancies, should I be continuing SW or should I stop and try something else??

I feel ever so guilty about being overweight, especially now its not just me but I also want to put positivity out there so a bit stuck in my own double chinned head at the moment!

Sorry for the ramble but thank you!

Hi! Congratulations on your pregnancy! I related so much to your comment that I just had to respond!

I’ve been silently reading for the past week since finding out I’m pregnant too. This is my second baby and just wanted to share my experience of being overweight in my first pregnancy. I followed SW when I was pregnant 4 years ago and found it really great, your plan is slightly adjusted to suit pregnancy and allowing extra healthy options, and my midwife advocated it at the time as well!

In terms of scans don’t worry too much, I was very very overweight last time (thankfully not as much this time) and had no issues with scans at all!

@LouR2408 According to all my dates my due date should be around the 22nd January, what about you?

There are lots of SW friendly groups on FB for pregnancy which I found quite helpful, but definitely seek advice from your consultant when you can because you do get a higher allowance, means you can eat more and still hopefully loose weight so win win!

I honestly had such a nice experience with all my maternity care, I couldn't fault them, very non-judgmental and supportive. I was consultant led care because of my weight making it a higher risk pregnancy and that also in turn meant that a lot of the birth choices I wanted I wasn't 'allowed' such as water birth, birth centre, etc but obviously that's understandable.

The only think I found quite negative was I felt they were constantly pushing for an epidural in my birth plan, because it is assumed as you are bigger you are more likely to run into complications and need either instrumental delivery or need an emergency section and that's definitely something I didn't want. But at the end of the day it is your choice, you just need to be armed with all your information and make an informed choice!

I suffered with PGP and high blood pressure last time also so trying to stay as fit and eat as healthily as possible this time round! Thankfully my BMI is much lower now so fingers crossed this is an easier pregnancy, although I'm definitely already super anxious about C-19! Confused xxx

@BabyG123 I think majority of from early on in the thread use the Facebook group instead of this MN thread, so I’d suggest to feel free 😊👍🏻

@Lizziedu49 it’s a private group and called lockdown girls, so don’t worry won’t show up on your feed and no one even knows it’s baby related 😊

Hi girls!
I'm not on here too often now we've got the fb group.
Congratulations to you all!

Just to reassure you the FB group is private and it's not named January 2021 babies.
It's called lockdown girls and we've got questions in place to make sure people are joining from mumsnet and not randoms!
But can assure you it doesn't come up on your fb time line.
I'm planning to hide the group completely when everyone is in! X

Hi all! Been a little while since I checked in last. Lovely to see all the new members with their positives! This pregnancy seems to be dragging so far, but think that's due to the fact I found out 5 days before AF was due. I'm 5+6 weeks today and the tiredness is unbelievable! Boobs aren't as sore now, but I am still a little crampy, rather irritable and really quite nauseous. I seem to be really constipated and gassy feeling until I eat and then it goes straight though :( This morning I have had a bit of pink when wiping after going the toilet. It's really got me worried, especially as I miscarried at 6 weeks previously, but I'm trying to stay positive. It's hard though and I've lost all concentration on work today now.

Keeping everything crossed that little 'spud' stays nice and cozy in there. Has anyone else nick-named their little one? My little one was 'Jelly Bean' and this one is now 'Spud' :)
