Hi!
Just got my BFP this weekend.
I got my first faint positive Friday morning with an frer, and today it's much darker (11dpo)!

Leading up to my bfp, I've had icky feeling, tiredness, dizzy spells, headaches, cramps.
Not feeling as icky as with my last pregnancy yet though!
Provisional due date of 7th January using the NHS calculator.

Come and join once you've got your bfp for January 2021, for a few pregnancy pals!

@Baba11 thanks for replying! See that's what I'm worried about! A friend from works also pregnant (just over 16 weeks) and they've told her not to come back just yet. I'm also worried they're going to be angry with me for getting pregnant knowing she was already pregnant!
How do you feel about going back?

BabyDust13 · 18/05/2020 09:53

I'm not sure what the guidelines are for pregnant ladies now luckily I'm working from home for a while yet

I've been taking these vitamins since Friday

Hi all! Wondering if anyone can help, how reliable is line progression? I'm getting decent strong lines on my tests, but still a bit weaker than the control line. I've been testing each morning and the lines aren't getting stronger... also I did a clear blue digital and it said 1-2 weeks, but I'm a week late for my period so I feel it should be showing further. Though it was my first period after having DS, so who knows when I ovulated, could have been after 3 weeks, which would add up.
I'm a bit of a newbie with peeing on lots of sticks, last time I was pregnant I was with IVF clinic so had lots of reassurance from them and was injecting loads of progesterone etc to support the early pregnancy, so I'm a bit more anxious this time.
Any advice much appreciated 😊 sorry for the essay!!

Baba11 · 18/05/2020 10:15

@Pol96 I was scared to tell her because I had promised I'd take a particular class in sept. However what is more important? Baby... job will always be there.
I am worried about going back to be honest but there is still 2 weeks till then a lot can change in 2 weeks. They should know so thy can make plans if they need, better to tell them now whilst they are planning.

@BabyDust13 I take those vitamins too.

Baba11 · 18/05/2020 10:20

@Gabbbbbbby congrats

The clear blue tests show wen I conceived so u normally add 2 weeks on. So 1-2 weeks would be 3-4 weeks. I haven't checked line progression as it would stress me out. I would just enjoy been pregnant as long as there is no bleeding or no pains we have to pray all is ok.

Gabbbbbbby · 18/05/2020 10:27

Thanks @Baba11, I think I'm going to put the tests down and just enjoy it! After being so medicated the first time, I'm finding it hard to accept my body will be doing the right thing.
I'm in similar situation to you at work, a teacher and have been given a promotion for next year - feel like I'm letting them down a bit. I'll only be able to teach for a term! Coming back to work off mat leave heavily pregnant will be slightly embarrassing...

peach111 · 18/05/2020 10:39

I also have another scenario a really good friend of mine has been trying for years, Loads or round of failed IVF and she’s the most gorgeous person and would make the most amazing mum and it’s heartbreaking to watch x I’m worried when I get much further along about telling her I don’t want to make her feel like crap! Anyone ever been in this situation xx also thank you I’m gonna wait till I’m about 8/9 weeks to tell my mum dad and partners parents x

peach111 · 18/05/2020 10:40

I think I feel guilty because we weren’t trying and it wasn’t planned but very much wanted ❤️

peach111 · 18/05/2020 10:44

@Gabbbbbbby are you taking the tests when your wee is not really clear I drink so much water (I’ve felt so thirsty) and the day my period was late the first two tests super strong lines then a few hours later we wanted to do another one (a little in shock I think😂) and I had drank a lot and the urine was clear and the test was positive but very faint, sorry if that seems really obvious to you but it wasn’t too me it was only when I looked online but this is all so new to me so I’m prob a little dosy xx

Gabbbbbbby · 18/05/2020 10:53

@peach111 congratulations! Thanks, yes I'm testing first thing in the morning. About your friend, I'm sure she'll be happy for you. I had to do IVF to have ds last year, and my best friend fell pregnant whilst I was in the process and I was fine with it. I think just don't go on about it being an accident, it made me feel worse thinking about all the people who get pregnant without trying.
Congratulations!

MayBug2020 · 18/05/2020 10:54

@Pol96 yes I am still higher than pre ovulation. Midwife didn’t seem phased when I asked her...so going to try and relax and trust my body xx

Pol96 · 18/05/2020 11:22

@MayBug2020 that's good then x

MissHoney85 · 18/05/2020 12:24

@peach111 I had a long road to conceive, including a failed round of IVF in January. In December my best friend since childhood told me she was 12 weeks pregnant. It was accidental and a bit of a shock as she must have got pregnant within literally a week of starting a new relationship. She was really sensitive in telling me, acknowledged that it must be hard for me to hear. I was a bit saddened by it (or maybe just jealous) tbh but tried to put those feelings aside and just focus on being happy that my friend is happy. I have probably taken a bit of a step back in the friendship since then but just to protect my own sanity rather than because I have any ill will towards her. Anyway, hopefully I will get to have a baby just 6 months after her now 🤞 I haven't told her yet because I know she already feels a bit guilty about the whole thing and would feel worse if something were to happen to this pregnancy. I'm really looking forward to hopefully sharing some good news with her in a couple of months!

peach111 · 18/05/2020 12:35

@MissHoney85 @Gabbbbbbby thank you for your replies I agree I would be super sensitive about it, also due to be a maid of honour for my friend in a few months hope she doesn’t hate me too because I won’t be able to drink I’ll obviously make extra effort to make it super special, feel like I’m worried about everyone else instead of myself 😂 take care x

MissHoney85 · 18/05/2020 12:42

I've booked my early scan 😬 It's the Saturday after next, I should be about 7 weeks 1 day. I'm so nervous already! It seems like ages away.

peach111 · 18/05/2020 12:45

@MissHoney85 @Gabbbbbbby congratulations to both of you too after your journeys! I’m an only child and my mum had a really hard time when I was like 10/11 trying for a baby she had about 8 miscarriages so although never going through it myself I know how hard it was on her TTC xx

peach111 · 18/05/2020 12:46

@MissHoney85 how exciting! Xx

ttcchapter1 · 18/05/2020 13:15

Hi everyone, I wanted some advice. I got my BFP positives on Thursday. But it was all late afternoon urine and barely any pee tbh! I was impatient and had been feeling weird for days.

It says 1-2 weeks which means 3-4 weeks NHS. However, last month (21st April) my period wasn't like a normal period. And I have a blood disorder which means I bleed more than someone without the disorder would. And read that my implantation bleed could be heavier.

I called the GP and she said it sounds like its a pregnancy from this month not last and would be in line with the digital test. She said she'd refer me to the midwife service and they'd be in touch.

I still have this gut feeling that its not from this month tho! And the first positive was literally a trickle of urine late afternoon and it came up sooo strong straight away.

What would you all suggest? Would you suggest doing another digital test with fmu?

CoalCraft · 18/05/2020 13:28

@ttcchapter1 Another test with fmu wouldn't hurt, if it still says 1-2 then you can be reasonably certain the pregnancy is from this month. Otherwise you will find out either through blood tests or scans.

Milkshake54 · 18/05/2020 13:31

@ttcchapter1 share your thoughts with the midwife, but it’s likely they will date from when your last period was.
In a previous pregnancy I tested with afternoon urine and I got 1-2 weeks, when I would have expected 2-3. There’s no harm in testing again, although those clear blue tests are notorious for being wrong.
You could always book an early private scan around 7-8 weeks, which would be able to date the pregnancy?
The midwife may also have some suggestions - e.g a blood test or something to determine.

Radio9998 · 18/05/2020 13:57

Hello all, may I join too? Congratulations to all! I’m 33, this is my first ever pregnancy, apparently due 14 Jan, terrified... had cramps and sore boobs for 3 weeks straight, it is now easing up which scares me, but am tired and short of breath so it’s ‘good’ I guess. Hmm Submitted an online form today for hospital / midwife, now waiting 5-10 working days for a response. And trying to figure out how much ‘normal’ life I should maintain... complete first world problem but I am really into horses but not sure if it is safe to ride in this heat - not for falling off but for tiredness reasons. And also squeezing my legs, is it safe. Good to be part of the club though, especially as only my DH and my mum know. Very best of luck all - sorry for the essay.

CoalCraft · 18/05/2020 14:14

@Radio9998 Welcome and congratulations! I've know several women who continued riding right into their third trimester and had no problems, however that doesn't mean it's risk free!

Here's what the fei has to say on it: inside.fei.org/fei/your-role/medical-safety/pregnancy

CoalCraft · 18/05/2020 14:19

Who's told who so far, and when will you tell more people? How are you feeling about breaking the news?

For us, apart from me and DH literally no one outside of HCPs has any idea, and we're not planning on telling anyone until 12 weeks at the very earliest.

Am kinda dreading telling some people, but there's others that I can't wait to tell ☺️

Jennabfp · 18/05/2020 14:22

Hi everyone, congratulations to everyone. I had my first BFP on Friday just fine but because I was in shock I too another 4 tests which of course were all positive. I submitted the online form today so same as @Radio9998 I have to wait up-to ten days to hear something back. I have even feeling intense exhaustion of the last few days and also cramps which have seemed to have settled down today but now I feel ill like headaches and tiredness and hot. I hope it's okay for me to join? My due date is the 24th of January 2021. X

BabyDust13 · 18/05/2020 14:23

@CoalCraft obviously my OH knows but I also told my mum because she knows about our history of trying not planning on telling anyone else until after the scan.

How comes you are not looking forward to telling some people? Probably none of my business tell me to shut up if you'd rather x
