Hi!
Just got my BFP this weekend.
I got my first faint positive Friday morning with an frer, and today it's much darker (11dpo)!

Leading up to my bfp, I've had icky feeling, tiredness, dizzy spells, headaches, cramps.
Not feeling as icky as with my last pregnancy yet though!
Provisional due date of 7th January using the NHS calculator.

Come and join once you've got your bfp for January 2021, for a few pregnancy pals!

@maybug2020 - ahhh that’s good - resist the urge to do more is my advice or you’ll deal out if you’ve drunk more water or whatever and it’s not as dark!! (I did not follow this advice, but I wish I had, ha). I’m a natural worrier too - as is my partner - so we’re a right pair atm! Yes, it’s my first, and I have some fertility issues so was on clomid and headed for ivf. I’m 7+3 today. Eek! I can’t bring myself to tell anyone in case I jinx it so this group has been a lifeline - so assuring that everyone worries about the same things. How about you - is it your first? I’d like to think second time round it’s not as bad but from what I’ve read on here not sure that’s true!

MayBug2020 · 17/05/2020 17:51

@Carabu1 ok I will take your advice and try to avoid doing another test. I am the same I don’t want to jinx it so just keeping it between us which is quite nice. Yes this is my first and have always wanted to be a mum so feels a bit surreal that its happening. Trying to remain realistic and not get carried about with excitement until the 12 week make but it seems so far away. How are you feeling? Struggling at all? My lower back is aching a lot xx

Carabu1 · 17/05/2020 18:00

@maybug2020 - I actually feel pretty good - I get tired more easily than usual (I’m a runner and a hiker, and am tired now after what would usually be an easy effort) - but other than that I haven’t really had any symptoms. Again, this has been worrying me, but on my trip to epu with spotting they told me that could be quite normal and to chill the hell out (more politely phrased than that..!.) I’ve read that if you’re quite a physically active/sporty person your body often handles It with fewer symptoms, but I have no idea if that’s true or not. I’m reluctant to stop because it’s a real stress release for me, but I am consciously doing less and easier stuff. I’m also on metformin which is probably keeping my blood sugar on a even keel. I guess we should be grateful for feeling ok while it lasts?!

MayBug2020 · 17/05/2020 18:28

@Carabu1 oh that’s good news about feeling well and keeping up with activities. It’s hard to know what is right but I guess you have to trust your body x

Blossom55 · 17/05/2020 20:04

Hi! I’m excited to be in the group :) I got my first ever BFP today after 18 months of TTC and by calculations are 5 weeks pregnant and due on 16th January 2021.

The night before I took the test I couldn’t sleep and was convinced I was getting period symptoms after a couple of months of disappointments. Seeing the two lines I started shaking and my teeth were chattering I couldn’t believe it!

So far I’ve the symptoms I’ve had have been aches in my lower back and bottom left of my stomach, feeling tired and a bit of brain fog. Have felt slightly nauseous and sick in the evening

BabyG123 · 17/05/2020 20:26

Absolutely shattered today, and super sunburnt!!! Forget how sensitive your skin becomes when pregnant!

@Gabbbbbbby how exciting. I'll have a 22 month age gap. Think it'll be cute!

@peach111 completely up to you. Personally I'm waiting as I like to know everything is ok. See the heart beat etc.
But it's mad because if something is wrong I'd go to family for support too 🤷🏻‍♀️

MayBug2020 · 17/05/2020 20:59

@Blossom55 congratulations and welcome to the group!! I too am suffering with lower back ache and feel like I need to stretch it all the time. Xx

Jellybean252 · 17/05/2020 23:15

Has anyone been experiencing extreme bloating?
I'm only 6 weeks but after I've eaten I look more like 6 months Blush

BabyG123 · 18/05/2020 07:06

@Jellybean252 yup feel like gonna burst. Even now and I haven't eaten yet!

MrsZRichards · 18/05/2020 07:36

Hi all, I'm Zoe.

Got our positive tests yesterday (2 standard cheapo ones and a clear blue digital 'pregnant 2-3weeks') so guessing I'm around 4-5 weeks pregnant. Not a clue when my last period was, I think early/mid March 🤷🏻‍♀️. We started trying in Dec/Jan but then kind of stopped when covid hit UK but started trying again after a few weeks as we really wanted a close age gap.

I have a 13 month old son, so all going well will have 2 under 2! Let the madness commence.

I was in a mumsnet group for my April 2019 baby which turned into a facebook group and then into a whatsapp group. Those ladies have become like some of my closest friends and we all talk daily even 22 months on from starting a mumsnet thread so posting on here really excites me.

Hope you are all well, excited & not letting covid play on your minds too much xx

Hopingforourrainbow · 18/05/2020 07:54

Hi All!

We have got our BFP, due end of Jan! Ive tested 4 days in a row, all said pregnant but couldn’t believe it! I’ve finally got to the courage to join one of these groups rather than being a silent watcher. I was a watcher for April 2020 which we sadly lost early on, and then a watcher for June 2020 where we lost our rainbow baby at 18 weeks. So praying that our rainbow rainbow baby gets to join our family in January.

Anxiety is super high but to get a BFP on the day I was due to start maternity leave, feels like a gift. Hope you are all doing well xx

MayBug2020 · 18/05/2020 07:56

Morning ladies and welcome and Congratulations @MrsZRichards!

I wondered if any of you monitor your body temp and if it fluctuates during pregnancy? I woke up this morning and my app told me that last night and the night before my temp dropped slightly which is the first time since I would have conceived...now I am a little worried? Is this normal? X

MissHoney85 · 18/05/2020 08:07

@MayBug2020 I continued temping for a few days after my BFP but then stopped because, as you've found, any drop just causes stress. I stopped monitoring my resting heart rate for the same reason. It doesn't actually give you any useful information, temperature and RHR fluctuate all the time for loads of reasons, and if it is something 'sinister' there's nothing you can do about it anyway. Just take each day as it comes and enjoy it!

MayBug2020 · 18/05/2020 08:14

@MissHoney85 thank you - I wasn’t sure if it’s normal of it to fluctuate and I couldn’t find anything on line to help put my mind at rest...x

Pol96 · 18/05/2020 08:26

@Hopingforourrainbow congratulations! I am so sorry for your loses and I hope that your rainbow baby is a super sticky bean! Xx

@MayBug2020 I have also been doing bbt and am now going to stop as it's stressful when you get a dip.. Even when it's still miles above the cover line! Thanks @MissHoney85 for clarifying that as Google did not have the answer! X

@MrsZRichards congratulations! X

CoalCraft · 18/05/2020 08:31

Morning all, hope everyone's well, congratulations and welcome to the newbies :)

Got my scan at 9am tomorrow. Today is going to drag...

MayBug2020 · 18/05/2020 08:35

@Pol96 oh so you have seen a dip too? Mine doesn’t tell me the cover lines. I have my call with the midwife this morning so going to mention it.
@CoalCraft oh how exciting x

Pol96 · 18/05/2020 08:39

@MayBug2020 yeah but it was only 0,,06 of a degree (yesterday) and then it went up slightly again today. So I think im going to move my thermometer to another room so I can't do it anymore! I've got to call gp etc to get the ball rolling with midwives and I'm feeling really nervous about doing it x

@CoalCraft that's so exciting! Need to keep busy today so it goes faster for you x

CoalCraft · 18/05/2020 08:46

@Pol96 I'm in work today so that helps in a way! Just trying to focus on that and not think about tomorrow too much. I'm excited and also a bit nervous about it!

Jellybean252 · 18/05/2020 09:06

@BabyG123
I'm glad I'm not the only one!

Have you been experiencing any tummy ache at all? I literally get it every single day along with the runs ( sorry TMI). I put it down to taking pregnacare but now I'm not sure anymore...

MayBug2020 · 18/05/2020 09:16

@Pol96 ok mine is like 0.3 over two days :/

@Jellybean252 yes I have had tummy aches like I need to go to the toilet in the mornings..

BabyDust13 · 18/05/2020 09:20

Hey everyone congratulations on all you bfp I'm only 4+3 today I think early days anxious and excited

Pol96 · 18/05/2020 09:22

@MayBug2020 is it still above your preovulation Temps?

@Jellybean252 me too.. Not every day but every other kind of thing, I'm also taking pregnacare (conception, have loads left) but didn't have it when ttc, only since getting my bfp

Pol96 · 18/05/2020 09:41

I have a bit of a dilemma.. I work in a preschool and obviously we might be opening again for all children on the 1st of June.. I don't really want to tell work i'm pregnant with it being so early.. What would you do? Do I wait and see if we're actually going to open or what??

Baba11 · 18/05/2020 09:47

@Pol96 I work in a school and am due to go back 1st June too. I sent an email to the head telling her in confidence I was pregnant. She responded with as per guidance I'm still ok to come in and she will see me in June!
