I'll be keeping it a surprise until birth! Probably crazy as I'm expecting twins but I feel that the surprise(s) at the end may help me through the final tough weeks and delivery:-)

BuffaloCauliflower · 24/04/2020 15:00

My DH is seemingly having no problem connecting. He’s so excited since seeing the scan! Keeps saying “baby! There’s a baby in there!” and calling me the precious vessel 😂 he can’t wait to be a dad. He’s also bringing me lots of snacks and drinks which I am not unhappy about!

BuffaloCauliflower · 24/04/2020 15:03

Great news @LittleMissSunshine2020 Smile we definitely need to shout more about low symptom pregnancies. All you see in the media is lots of throwing up and you then expect that as the norm.

LozEliza · 24/04/2020 15:04

Congrats on all the scans!

We are finding out what we're having. Now I'm actually pregnant I can see the appeal of the surprise (I never could before) but I just like to be organised, I'm a sucker for gimmicks and retail and I'm very impatient.

@BuffaloCauliflower one of my main symptoms now is pulls and twinges below along with random back ache. My bump seems like it's grown loads these past few days. Not sure if it's just wind 🤷🏻‍♀️. Sometimes if I belly laugh or move too quickly I also get a sharp pain across as well.

My sense of smell and extreme food aversions and total lack of energy have really eased since just before 10 weeks. I'm 11+3 now. Now I am just sick once every other day at very random moments.

TangBloodyFastic · 24/04/2020 15:08

@BuffaloCauliflower my Dh calls me a vessel too, must be a 'man' word 😂

carrot88 · 24/04/2020 15:10

We're not finding out either - it's our first and I think one of life's true surprises (and might get me through the Labour a bit I hope)! We're lucky though as my mum and MIL are really not pink or blue mums so won't be desperate to buy the 'right' colour clothes!

MrsAJKA · 24/04/2020 15:12

@BuffaloCauliflower @LittleMissSunshine2020 Haven’t posted much on here but wanted to add about lack of symptoms.

I’ve had practically none. No morning sickness at all which got me worried after reading so much on here about what you ladies are going through.

All I’ve really had is extreme tiredness, wanting to eat everything and also aches and pains (Like period pains) in my stomach since I’ve found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks now I’m 11 weeks today. This is my first pregnancy so have had no idea what to look for or not to and won’t have my first scan until under 2 weeks. Just counting down the days to find out if everything is okay. 🙏🏽

Plentyofplants · 24/04/2020 15:36

Afternoon, I had my 12wk scan this morning and all is well. Baby is very active and would not keep still.

@mrsAJKA I've have had the same symptoms as you, very tired, felt sick at times but never actually been sick. Eaten everything and I've just had round ligament pains.

BuffaloCauliflower · 24/04/2020 15:39

Great news @Plentyofplants!

@MrsAJKA plenty of us here with much the same feelings and babies apparently doing well. The odds are in your favour at this stage.

Cece546 · 24/04/2020 15:49

Hi all!
I’m 12 + 1 with my second, it’s 8 years since I’ve been pregnant and a huge surprise 😀
Have scan on Tuesday. Nervous as I’m 41.
Had early scan at 7 weeks and saw wee heartbeat. Have been sick since 5 weeks, easing a bit now.

Jhampson01 · 24/04/2020 15:50

Got my first scan next Friday! So excited to finally see that it’s real but so sad my fiancé can’t come along.

MrsAJKA · 24/04/2020 15:51

@Plentyofplants Congrats! Yes that’s the exact symptoms I had.

@buffalocauliflower thanks for the reassurance Smile

Spoons1987 · 24/04/2020 16:20

Great to see the good news from scans!

I admire people who keep the sex as a surprise. I have absolutely no willpower but I’d love to be able to have that little mystery leading up to birth. And DH feels similarly to what others have said, in that he thinks it helps him to bond a bit before they arrive.

I’m actually feeling a lot less anxious these days. I have a positive feeling but also more accepting of the powerlessness. I’m sure I’ll wake up tomorrow and feel differently, but for now I’m enjoying not worrying!

Chuckem15 · 24/04/2020 17:05

Marking my place on this thread. It's moving so quickly!

I'm not finding out, like the idea of a surprise on the day and all the is it a boy is it a girl chat in the run up to distract me from labour.

I'm 10+4 and scan is 3 weeks tomorrow 😭

burntpinky · 24/04/2020 18:00

Great news on all that good scans ladies!

We are def finding out sex as I’ve no patience at all. My cheeky MIL keeps trying to find out what names we are considering! I’ve told her no and that we are keeping something back for ourselves

60sPony · 24/04/2020 18:22

We will have a surprise too I think. Had one with my son and it was great... have a strong suspicion this is another boy!

Addler · 24/04/2020 18:29

Back at work today and my boss tells me she's 7 weeks pregnant Grin I wasn't planning on telling them until after the 12 week scan but thought it would be weird if I turned round in two weeks and said me too!

She thinks it's hilarious. It's going to be a very interesting household with two pregnant women. At least they know now and that's out the way!

ParisInTheSpringtime · 24/04/2020 18:43

We told MIL last night - her comment was “yay, a [husband’s surname] baby”. Looking forward to telling her it’s going to have my name (I’m double barrelled with mine and his). 😂 😂

AnxiousLady1 · 24/04/2020 19:02

We told in laws today and found out SIL is also expecting! Due a week before me. So MIL found out she is going to be a first time gran twice over, in the space of 5 mins 😂

Chuckem15 · 24/04/2020 19:11

@anxiouslady**@anxiouslady awww and cousins so close in age Shock

Chuckem15 · 24/04/2020 19:11

@anxiouslady1 whoops!

HarrietM87 · 24/04/2020 19:15

Wow @AnxiousLady1 that’s so brilliant!

FilthyforFirth · 24/04/2020 19:15

I will be finding out. I did before and as I have HG I feel it helps me bond a bit better as I am going through so much.

I have DS and dont care either way but DH would like a girl. A girl would be easier in that we already have a name we both love. Cannot agree on a boys name at all. I really like Elijah and he is having none of it!

HarrietM87 · 24/04/2020 19:20

I’m the opposite @FilthyforFirth - I have lots of boys names I love and not a single girls. As I have a son already I find it a lot easier to imagine having another boy, which is silly really as they could be completely different!

Chuckem15 · 24/04/2020 19:21

Kinda regretting telling all my family the day we found out at 4 and a bit weeks now, as I bet telling them now post scan is so much fun!
