Ugh I wish it was the same here @HarrietM87! We both love our DS's name so I thought it would be easy again. But we hate each others choices. May have to play the HG trump card after birth if a boy...

Tiniestsky · 24/04/2020 20:10

Anyone else feeling really down and miserable? Desperate to see a scan but have to wait 2 weeks, Day by day I'm convincing myself something is wrong, I've had 2 mc before and now my symptoms have gone, just really want to see that heartbeat :(

LozEliza · 24/04/2020 21:41

@AnxiousLady1 that's so amazing. Me and my SIL are 3 weeks apart and we're planning to tell my mum together after my 12 week scan on Tuesday so she'll find out she's going to be a grandma twice over at the same time too! Can't wait.

excitednerves · 24/04/2020 21:47

@FilthyforFirth @HarrietM87 I also have a boy. Half of me wants another boy, the other half thinks a girl would be lovely. Can’t make my mind up about finding out the gender. We didn’t with DS1. I’m not sure if I can handle another surprise!

Tonicandgin · 24/04/2020 22:02

I have a girl and a boy and didn't find out either time. Both times everyone has told me I'm having the opposite gender to what I ended up with and I love the surprise at the end. Both times I've been genuinely surprised and love it. There's so few surprises in life, it's lovely to find out when you meet them.

Tonicandgin · 24/04/2020 22:03

Separately - any ideas on how I tell the kids?

They're 6 and 4. Anything exciting I could do?

ACatCalledLola · 24/04/2020 22:26

I have two girls and will definitely be finding out. I think it will help them get used to the idea. If it’s another girl it will also focus our mind on names. It was hard enough agreeing on the ones we’ve used already! I will also find out before my sister has her girl so if it’s a boy I can give all the girly baby clothes to her.
@Tonicandgin mine are 5 and 3. I reckon the 5 year old already suspects something because not much gets past her. I’m not sure how we’re going to tell them yet. I might make a guessing game out if it. Probably I’ll just be relieved after my scan and blurt it out.

Whoamieven · 24/04/2020 22:41

Hi everyone
My scan is on Wednesday I wish it would hurry up!!! We won't find out the gender, had a surprise with the two boys so will do the same again.

BabyKnighty1 · 24/04/2020 23:06

I’m sort of the same as you @excitednerves however this will be my first. Really unsure if I want a girl or boy, probably a good way to feel so hopefully I won’t be disappointed. Definitely will find out, trying to convince DH to go for a NIPT just so we can find out but it’s so expensive

Lunardreams · 24/04/2020 23:58

@Tiniestsky I'm so sorry to hear that you've had those past experiences. I totally get it, I'm 11 weeks and I've had some pretty low days. My symptoms reduced at around 8 weeks and it's not a nice experience at all.

You're not alone 🌻. Pregnancy can be such a stressful time without a pandemic on top of that to deal with. I'm sure a lot of people here can relate. I hope in two weeks time your scan will give you the reassurance that you need. Wishing you all the best and that you have a good support network. ✨

FlashesOfRage · 25/04/2020 02:07

@Snee9

I’ve only just seen your pics and question about the Nuchal fold 💖

I think the bright quite far away line that you are looking at is the amniotic sac rather than the edge of the baby’s skin 💐 the amniotic sac shows as a very bright halo around the baby 👍

FlashesOfRage · 25/04/2020 02:32

@Pumpkin108

I had the infection too 👌 Group B Strep

My midwife said that it’s normal in 25% of women and they have no symptoms.
If they find it in your urine tho they should treat with antibiotics 👍
I’m on Amoxillin and have to go for another urine test next Friday. X

excitednerves · 25/04/2020 04:47

@Tonicandgin well done on holding out for two surprises! I think I might get the sonographer to write it down so we can decide later on if we want to know, esp if DH can’t come to the 20 week scan either. At least we’ll find out together.

@BabyKnighty1 its good that you don’t have a preference, even if you did, I think you just love whatever you end up with. I genuinely didn’t have a preference with my first and now I can’t even imagine what it would be like if he was a girl, I love having a boy. It’s win-win with whatever I have next, will be absolutely thrilled with either.

wannabebump · 25/04/2020 08:23

Excited to hear how you are all telling family after your scans 💕

I had my scan during the week but dates slightly behind - did try to tell my MW when making the appointment that Subfertility told me my dates but she just said midwifes and Subfertility are totally different. Can't be that different surely... I mean, it's AF & ovulation! Anyway...I measure 11 exactly instead of 11+4, so I'm back next week to have full 12 week appointment with bloods etc. It was still great to say a little sticky bean on the screen, giving us a wave with one arm sticking up!! Anxiety levels dropped massively 😊

Until last night. Cue - anxiety through the roof. Before pregnancy, I would often spray lavender on my duvet to help sleep. Although I'm fatigued just now, I find dropping off to sleep really hard. So, give 8/10 skooshes on the king size duvet last night and jumped in. 30 seconds later - realised I didn't check the label. Of course it has a warning for pregnancy so I stripped the bed immediately. Then I googled it - so I haven't slept a wink and now I'm terrified I've done something to my baby Confused

Pink15 · 25/04/2020 08:45

@wannabebump I'm sure it'll be fine! It's not like you ate it! Maybe it just makes morning sickness worse? Can't see why a smell would harm a baby. More likely they just haven't tested it on pregnant women so don't want to claim it's safe.

Saw this on Instagram and thought it may be relevant to a lot of us right now: 😂

@Pink15 I know that would be the rational thing to think, and had I only looked at the label I think I'd have been alright. It was google that did though 😪 back to pre-scan nervous wreck!

Your picture is also spot on! X

Pink15 · 25/04/2020 09:00

@wannabebump don't worry I'd be the same it's so easy to worry when it's your baby - I accidentally ate one of the 'banned' foods when I was like 6 weeks and panicked so bad because of google and in the end I went to the GP. Once the baby is born we will think we were crazy about worrying over something so small even though it feels so important right now! I'm trying to avoid google for the time being 🙈

Chuckem15 · 25/04/2020 09:47

@tiniestsky Sorry you're feeling like this. It's totally understandable with pregnancy hormones, lockdown and a huge change in routine plus a pandemic with awful world news to hear and read about every day. It will pass and you'll feel better again very soon I'm sure. I keep having low days and then feel ok again. Just give yourself the time and we're all hear to listen if you want to talk.

Tiniestsky · 25/04/2020 09:57

@Chuckem15 @Lunardreams thanks ladies, it does help to vent, I try to be positive and talk to "sticky bean" like you say, with lockdown and no distraction the days are long. Hope everyone is managing ok x

HarrietM87 · 25/04/2020 10:00

Is anyone else finding the morning sickness is passing but exhaustion is still there? I’m 12 weeks tomorrow and the sickness has been getting better by the day (hooray!) but I thought I’d start feeling totally normal all round. Instead I feel more tired if anything - still going to bed at 8.30 and feel like I need a nap now! I feel bad as I’ve massively relied on my DH to look after our toddler and kept telling him I’d pick up after 12 weeks, but still feeling useless.

Rainbowafterthestorm · 25/04/2020 10:55

@HarrietM87, I’m feeling similar. Up to about 10 weeks I had nausea (in the evening), and some round ligament pain (I think).

I’m 12 weeks on Monday and I’ve noticed that the nausea is more like waves but I’m bizarrely tired. I fell asleep on the sofa at 8.30 last night.

I’m in the pre-scan anxiety stage. I had a scan at 8 + 4weeks (Due to a small bleed) and saw a heartbeat. I’m not scared that the bleed was indicating something was about to happen and that there is something wrong at the 12 weeks scan. I’m also having to wait until the 4th May for my scan so I’ll be 13 weeks. I’m not sure how I’m going to get through the next 9 days without some sort of panic. Does anyone have any positive stories?

Rainbowafterthestorm · 25/04/2020 11:13

It should say *just scared

ticktackted · 25/04/2020 11:31

Hello! I was kind of lurking before I made an account, and have found it useful knowing others are at the same stage! I'm due early November with my first - my 12 week scan is Monday. I'm really nervous, even though I paid for an 8 week scan and all was well - I've had a horrible first trimester and since that scan I've had a UTI, weeks of constant nausea and vomiting that needed meds, a low grade fever of unknown cause (so possibly covid with few symptoms), and a foot injury that needed x rays. Having a hard time believing all of that won't have affected my growing baby, although there's no reason to think it has, I won't relax until after that scan!

Pink15 · 25/04/2020 11:32

@HarrietM87 I'm the same my appetite is basically back now but I hit around 4pm and am exhausted can't function at all but before it was all day exhaustion so it is slowly improving

Pcosandpregnant · 25/04/2020 12:15

Good afternoon everyone! I’m 9+4 weeks today and my stomach up to my belly is rock hard. I’ve googled it and apparently it shouldn’t be yet. I’m so worried! Is anyone getting this?
