Another new thread! Reckon we can get all the scans into this one?

@BuffaloCauliflower @Wise0wl I did think about an early scan but decided against it as my DH wouldn’t be able to come anyway as we have no one to look after my son, and it’s quite far to the clinic so didn’t seem like essential travel- I am starting to wish we had though as it has felt like an eternity to wait until 12+6 with no reassurance. And yes to the wondering if I’ve dreamt it! I felt the same with my first though as I had barely any symptoms, and he’s now 2 Grin

Fouryearslater · 04/05/2020 12:45

Day 2 of no ondansetron and I can’t keep anything down 😔

BuffaloCauliflower · 04/05/2020 12:51

@Happythecrocodile luckily DH could come, and it’s our first so it was great we could do that. I’ll be 12+5 officially on Monday, but was measuring 5 days ahead at the last scan (must just be big because I know my dates are right!) so will be interesting to see how they date us both

littlegem84 · 04/05/2020 13:06

@jen1311 I'm so jealous! I'm having my baby at the Rosie and I had my scan a week and a half ago and didn't get offered this!

Becca65 · 04/05/2020 13:16

Good luck for all your scans today. X

Hancock2020 · 04/05/2020 13:39

Still haven't had scan letter so called the hospital, well, I asked dh to call due to my social anxiety but they wouldn't speak to him. Anyway, booked in for the 12th may so only 8 days to go 🙂

HarrietM87 · 04/05/2020 14:15

@TangBloodyFastic congratulations! So they didn’t tell you the sex?

The NHS combined screening is broader than the harmony blood test because the scan looks for physical issues which could indicate other abnormalities/chromosomal issues beyond the three trisomies the harmony tests for, so it is worth having both (which I assume you are!). Even though we got our harmony results last week I’m still waiting until after my scan tomorrow to tell wider family (only our parents know atm).

NoseringGirl · 04/05/2020 14:19

Scan went well, one perfect baby! The sonographer was very lovely and talked me through everything she was doing and really reassured me when I was nervous!

@littlegem84 ahh what a shame! If restrictions are still in place for your 20 week scan you will be able to then though. I’m glad they have said about the card and envelope, if we need to I will be doing this so me and my husband will open it and still find out together and will be a nice keepsake. Can I just ask, did your partner go with you? Where did he wait if so? Xx

wannabebump · 04/05/2020 14:36

Scan done (also had a scan 12 days ago but was too early, although did tell MW that when I booked in 😳). All looks good, NT measurement of 1.6mm which I was assured is within normal range. EDD 12th Nov. Had bloods done but they're saying up to 3 weeks to come back 😭

eleanorsos · 04/05/2020 14:47

Hi all, tried to post a couple times already so apologies if it appears loads at once! Dropped the photo off to see if that helps! Our scan was good too, all totally normal. Such a relief! Due 14th Nov so pretty close to you @wannabebump! Also had NT of 1.6mm which sonographer said was 'spot on' if it makes you feel better 🙂

So happy for everyone with positive news today xxx

Wise0wl · 04/05/2020 14:48

Well done @Hancock2020 for your scan date, @TangBloodyFastic for your NIPT results and @wannabebump for your scan Smile

littlegem84 · 04/05/2020 14:53

@jen1311 he drove me to the hospital (I didn't want to be on my own in case it was bad news) but he also had to look after our son so he just made the most of the big walkway through the field next to the new Papworth hospital bit.

excitednerves · 04/05/2020 15:04

@Hancock2020 brilliant news!

I’ve finally been booked in, bloods and urine tomorrow. Finally finally starting to feel real. Two weeks today until the scan.

Natopp · 04/05/2020 15:11

Just checking - I had bloods done at booking appt, do they get done again at my 13 week scan? Or do they use the bloods from my booking appt for the tests?

TangBloodyFastic · 04/05/2020 15:25

Thanks @HarrietM87 I did think that but went on NHS website and couldn't find any info other than the 3 I've already been tested for. Got to wait another 2 weeks for nhs one 😫
Have you had both of yours now or just one? I was expecting mine to be 1 in 150 or something around that based on other people's results on here but mine came back in the millions
No no sex, she told me all the results and then at the end of the call asked if I wanted to know and we said no! I was so tempted to say YES!!! 😂

MoreGinPlease2020 · 04/05/2020 15:28

My combined screening results came back today - 1:795 for Downs and something like 1:17,000 for the other two. I think those are okay considering I'll be just 37 when the baby is born?

Tonicandgin · 04/05/2020 15:45

@moreginplease2020

What did they say about your score? High/low probability? Have they offered you any further testing? If you're low risk, and no further tests required I wouldn't worry.

This is my issue with the test tbh, it's a probability only, I never had it for previous babies (32 and 34), I'm 38 now so when you're over 35 it is a much higher rate. I wanted a harmony test but they don't offer round here, so probably going to avoid as it'll just make me anxious. Sorry to have a moan, I was googling NT testing when I saw your post.

TangBloodyFastic · 04/05/2020 15:46

Great results @MoreGinPlease2020
I'll be 38 which is why I was so surprised at my results!

MoreGinPlease2020 · 04/05/2020 15:56

@TangBloodyFastic @Tonicandgin They said my results meant a "lower chance" of having an affected baby. They're not offering further screening. I had a high ish but still normal NT measurement of 2.9mm so had sort of resigned myself to having a poor result, so I'm a bit thrown to be honest!

Tonicandgin · 04/05/2020 16:06

I don't blame you feeling thrown. I suppose it's a case of assuming if they were concerned they'd offer further testing. But I don't blame you feeling odd about it. Suppose the only other option is a harmony test for a definite answer, but it's £££££

ACatCalledLola · 04/05/2020 16:10

@MoreGinPlease2020 I’m 37 and was told that the baseline risk rating for ds for my age is 1:147 but my individual risk was 1:2300. My risk for the other two is around 1:5000. They’re a lot higher risk than my last two babies but the doctor explained that my age is the main factor. She wasn’t concerned because my bloods and the scan brought the baseline risk rating down. I guess it’s similar with you. Saying that, I had made the decision that I was going to pay for further testing if my risk rating was greater than 1:1000. That was just my personal decision though and although I’m still nervous about my results i will wait until the 20 week scan and hope that anything’s picked up then.

MoreGinPlease2020 · 04/05/2020 16:14

We're not overly keen on paying for the Harmony test but I will chat to my midwife when I see her at the weekend to try to better understand the risks and results etc. I guess they'll be able to pick up on any related issues at the 20 week scan so we can always reassess then.

Tonicandgin · 04/05/2020 16:17

This is my approach too. If there's a big issue it would be most likely picked up at 20 weeks so I'm going with that.

Best of luck - hope your midwife is able to reassure you.

Becca65 · 04/05/2020 16:20

@wannabebump I'm the same EDD as you - 12th November. Congratulations on your scan. I'm just waiting on my bloods coming back too. All the NHS stuff does say it's up to 2-3 weeks if low risk, but three working days of identified as high risk. I'm not quite past the 3 days yet, so fingers still firmly crossed X
